  1. They are saying the rain should be out of here by mid morning at the latest...but we all know how wonderfully predictable the weather can be here in Tennessee. If it is raining we could all just meet at the same restaurant, but whats the next closest range? On target in murfreesboro? Also...do we need to bring our own targets to Owl Hollow or do they have some there?
  2. Do you feel the MTAC covers your trigger well enough? Just asking cause Im thinking of getting one for my 19
  3. And occasionally, I have had little hershey kisses show up in those holster bags too. No joke! They have my business. I'll be ordering a CTAC for a G21sf I just picked up:)
  4. http://mp-pistol.com/boards/ http://www.tacticalforums.com/ http://glocktalk.com I post the least at Glock Talk. The threads are more intelligent over at tactical forums and mp-pistol.
  5. I just recently sold an M&P and regret it. They are underrated pistols!
  6. Mall Ninjas Brag...Special Ops and Bad A$$ guys don't.
  7. Actually you need tryphorgetin...[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdWqNEboJe4]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdWqNEboJe4[/ame]
  8. Interesting you should post this...Todd G just posted some info on the Israeli Draw on his website... http://pistol-training.com/archives/183 http://pistol-training.com/archives/219
  9. I think they are something to keep an eye on and see how they do. Although its a DAO...its not their regular DAK system. IMHO the 250's trigger feels WAY better. I didn't get to fire one, but i was dry firing it alot in the store. Trigger has a much lighter pull than the DAK, and a nice clean crisp break to it. BUT...the reset is almost all the way back to zero, if not all the way back. Im sure with input SIG will tweak it. All I know is it felt great in my hand and the trigger felt good. Well see what happens with it.

The XD will be a little closer to what your used to. Similar trigger system...and striker fired. Going from a striker fired DAO to a SA/DA can be tough. You really have to train with it if your going to carry it. Also your used to a bit steeper grip angle with the Glock, its all personal preference, but pick one platform for carry and train on that. When your in a combat situation your skill wont rise to the occasion, it will drop down to whatever you've trained with and can do in your sleep. Im a gun whore, but I only carry what I train the hardest on.
  11. You nailed it. That report is still considered the holy grail of ballistics reports. I have just about every one of the common calibers in my house, and I choose to carry a 9mm for many reasons. The most important being thats what I train on! When in a gun fight your not going to "rise to the occasion," your going to stoop to the training you can do in your sleep. ALL rounds coming out of a pistol are POOR incapacitaters. Its up to YOU, not your caliber...to place those shots. Remember the .45acp was designed for a 5" barrel. Carrying a really short barrel for the sake of CCW is a compromise in velocity to an already slow bullet. Dont get me wrong .45's are great...when used in the proper gun. Ugh getting off topic here anyways...carry what you train and practice with. But if your walking around with a gun you're scared won't work...why carry it? Carry what you have confidence in. But hey...if you want to shell out MORE MONEY so you can PRACTICE LESS with a round that RECOILS WAY MORE in a gun that CARRIES LESS AMMO...then be HAPPY:)

HA!!! But make sure you get one a generation back:)
  13. Glocks...aren't for everyone. XD's...aren't for everyone. Go shoot them both in the same caliber and see what YOU prefer. I own some nice HK's and 1911's, but I carry a Glock because thats what I shoot best with, and thats what fits MY hand best. Safety is about the same...KEEP YOUR COTTON PICKEN FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER. There...now either one works for you. Your going to hear more Glock stories (whether good or bad) because there are way more of them, and that means a higher probability of an ID 10 T using one and causing a NG. I had an XD45 and regret selling it. I'll probably get another one...but still carry my Glocks cause thats what my hands are trained with. You cant go wrong with either safety wise.

While its just plain jane and boring....the Glock 19 performs well. If it ain't "accurate enough" for ya...put in an after market barrel and change the spring guide rod out to steel to help with the lock up(though they run fine stock). +1 on the XD and I would throw in the M&P as well..however..you are used to a grip angle that is steeper than the others...and your used to a unique trigger. You might easily adapt but some people have issues with changing over quickly. Also..I dont want to start a caliber war here...but why would you want to change over to a caliber that by nature has more "kick" to it...especially in competition. If you must go .40 Id stay with another striker fired gun so your bore remains relatively low to make up for that .40 kick....or you could just stay with what ya got, maybe a couple of upgrades and become a ninja with it.
  16. Some people have had good luck with Kimbers CS, I however, and most of the people I know have had nightmare type service. After running less than 300 rounds through my Ultra CDP 2...every few rounds Id have a hang-up on the feed ramp or failure to eject. I wasn't impressed with the slide and barrel lockup either...being that its from their "custom shop." Anyways, gave them a call...they didnt return it...called them several times and they never returned my call...I finally got someone who didnt want to talk about it except "send it in." They said 2-3 weeks...it has now been 6 and they wont call me back. This is a reoccurring story I hear from many. What also bugs me is they only have a 1 year limited lifetime warranty!!! What kind of warranty is that for a pistol that costs what it does? Anyway...any pistol that is not capable of firing at least 500 consecutive failure free shots is not suitable for a defensive pistol to me (unless of course the ammo was bad or something.) As soon as it gets back someday, its getting traded toward something else. Agreed and don't rule out the Dan Wesson stuff either...you get a lot for your money. Congrats on the P7...they are awesome...buy some mags for it while you can.
  17. I have both...they are both great...but with the MTAC you are not going to have that nice positive "click" when you holster or draw. Its more like a draw from leather. I also find if its hot outside...having a big leather slab against you isn't exactly the most comfortable thing on earth. If the CTAC is a little uncomfortable...apply some mole skin to the areas that bother ya, and that usually does the trick. Even with moleskin...its still less contact area against you than the MTAC. They are BOTH great. But the CTAC gets my vote. Pretty much anything Comp-Tac is great.
  18. IF...I wear one I use a Glock 26 in a Galco Ankle Lite. Its only for backup if I know Im going into some bad parts. Not sure about the boots thing for ya.

    Glock owners...?

Well for carry Glocks, I've put in the following... Vickers Tactical Mag Catch (rounded edges, and medium length...feels just right) Backstrap Channel Plug (keeps grime from getting into your trigger mechanism) Glock Extended Slide Release (an absolute must for me) Ameriglo Operator Night Sights (small yellow rear and big green front) I keep waiting for an excuse to put in a steel guide rod but the stock ones just wont break on me. As for the trigger, I keep mine stock...your gonna get good at whatever you practice with anyway. For a carry gun Im not going to touch the trigger. Its plenty light enough stock...and I see that annoying uptake as a good thing in a carry gun...considering the reset is extremely small in glocks...your only going to deal with that uptake on the first shot anyway. I shoot factory rounds only, so my barrel will remain stock.
