  1. Thats kind of an odd question. If we're talking only about Glocks shouldnt the question read "small, medium, or large and why?" Personally I like to hang onto my guns so whatever one has a large enough grip for all my fingers without a mag extension, bam! If you're going to carry a gun, carry the whole thing - not a sawed up model thats partially pieced back together. Thats just weird to me.
  2. Short of attaching a chainsaw to the light rail - if its a good shoot, aftermarket replacement parts wont matter. Anyway, I prefer factory parts because thats what they were designed for. And obviously its not a genuine SIG. Ive always been told that SIGs are infallible, lol.
  3. Hipower, all of what you said are my thoughts and thinking exactly. Luvmyberetta, that is the kind of solution I was looking for. Im going to see what he says about that. DaveTn, yes it is quite the collectors item, no longer produced and very few ever made. Arguably the best 10mm ever made.
  4. I know it has to go through an FFL. I just dont know how to handle this transaction securely. Seems only way to do this is by trust and I aint gonna do that.
  5. Found what I think is a pretty good deal and didnt realize that it was out of state. I guess what Id like to ask if any of yall buy a lot of guns out of state from individuals. Im obviously concerned about getting ripped off/scammed, receiving a broken gun, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations and would YOU trust this guy or make this deal? I know its a very fair deal. The pictures are really nice, looks pristine. How would YOU arrange this? I copied straight from my email so the conversation is backwards if youre gonna read it. ----------------- I understand your concern about trying to protect yourself. I'm a military man, I can send you a scanned copy of my Military ID Â so you know the person you are dealing with. I cannot do anything funny, i sworn to protect and serve the country, why would i destroy it just because i want to sell my firearm, The USPS Money order is backed by the government, the bank will have transaction history for it and also you are sending to my mailing address, there is no way i can hide from my identity, if i try to do anything funny...i'll have to deal with the ATF and FBI because of the firearm and post office involved, i can never try to do anything bad, so you have nothing to worry about. Let's just work this on TRUST...Here is the deal, you can send the USPS Money order at the post office by Express mail(overnight), so when i receive the mail, i'll ship to your FFL dealer via UPS next day delivery with insurance along with a copy of my DL.Do we have a deal? Please keep in touch. ------------ Im not sure how comfortable I am sending money off and buying a gun sight unseen. Im not really sure how we could handle this transaction. As a former police officer, I have a hard time trusting people. ------------- No Problem,Am Located In Norman,OK.yes it Comes with Original Box as well,Let me know If you are Driving Down to get the Gun or i can cover the shipping cost shipped to your FFL,Let me Know your Thought. Thanks. ------------- Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Where are you located? And do you have the original box as well? ------------- S&W 1066 10mm. Excellent condition. Comes with case(not original), 2 magazines, 50rd box of Underwood Ammo(FMJ), Hogue Grips, original grips, Recoil Buffer installed and Original night sights(still operational). Has Wolff XP 22lb Spring installed.I will Let it Go $500.
  6. Ummm, lol... I dont give a damn about a Glock but you know its not uncommon for range rental glocks to run hundreds of thousands of rounds until they die, right? Lol Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  7. Im imagining a sign that says "No .40 cals allowed." Lol The only places I can honestly imagine not being able to carry a .40 are places you can't carry anyway like goin swimmin. Well... I guess you could! Lol The way I see it, if youre comfortable carrying what you have why use something smaller and with less rounds. Which would you prefer if you had to use deadly force to protect yourself and your loved ones?
  8. Better safe than sorry, take the big one and take it everywhere.
  9. Saying the M&P is a copy of the Glock shows very little technical understanding of the M&P's design. The Sigma, yes. The M&P, no. And say what you want, but none of my M&Ps have ever failed me either and none of them throw brass in my face. :) Same here! Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  10. Make your daughter watch shootings on liveleak. Then take her to the dept of justice website and show her the UCR reports for your area last year. Remember, UCR data is only *reported* crime. I bet you could multiply the number of reported rapes by 5 and have an accurate statistic. Also keep in mind this is ONLY the information *volunteered* by your local law enforcement to the Feds. You also have to take into account whether a report was classified properly or if a report was even taken A lot of people don't even realize whats going on right around them. Even more people with young children dont even bother going online and checking for registered sex offenders on their own street.
  11. All of my women are safe. Good reminder though! Watch out for your loved ones. Yes, it can happen to you...
  12. Its one of the biggest problem I have with glocks (and its not their fault). Fanboi salesmen and new shooters is the answer. Some guy buying his first pistol, what do all the fans scream? "get a glock". The salesman, peers, online forums, they all say this. So he buys one and then over the year, shooting it some, he sees other folks and tries out something he actually likes ..... and sells the glock to fund it. Its a combination of peer pressure and ignorance. That may be true but I know a bunch of people who have also settled on a Glock. Personally, I dont like them (I've had five) but I still recommend them to new shooters for a few reasons. 1. Ease of use (simple to learn and clean - or not clean) 2. Availability of carry systems (IWB holsters, magazines, etc) 3. Re-sale value (if and when they discover another gun they like) Its just overall the easiest system to introduce people to the community. At the same time a lot of people dont even care. They want to know whats a good normal gun, shoot a box of fifty, and lock it away - thats their choice.
  13. Spyderco also has incredible customer service right here in the states (Golden, Colorado). You dont have to mail your knife in to get new clips, they mailed me a set for free. They have a lifetime warranty and will also sharpen it for life.
  14. Nice Benchbreak story. Sorry, Benchmade*! Ever heard of Spyderco? Here's an interesting fact - they INVENTED the pocket clip for knives. Far better materials and craftmanship when matched dollar to dollar. In that aspect they blow away any other brand out there. I carry a digital Spyderco Military everyday. They are very unique in design and come out with many new models every year. The opening hole and their unique clip design set them apart from others out there. They have many different models in many different price ranges. Check them out!
  15. Heres some homework for you guys. What gun or what type of action is the gun in the song Paper Planes by MIA? Im sure the gunshot is unidentifiable but someone oughta recognize the gun. I was just curious!
  16. So I shouldn't call and tell them about this thread??? I already made popcorn... :(
  17. Hey if you don't like my driving get off the sidewalk
  18. I know, theyre extremely hard to find. I nearly crapped myself when I saw the some 50 boxes they had.
  19. Just wanted to let everyone know that Middle Tennessee Pawn & Loan in Murfreesboro has a BUNCH of Speer Gold Dot 9mm 124 plus and non-plus P 20 rnd boxes for $25 + tax. I bought one box and went back and bought one more telling them I wanted just one more box before I "told everyone online." Lol   They have a bunch of other ammo as well like 223, 380, etc. No .45 auto as of 5-1-2013. Also had a bunch of what looked like VEPR'S AK's for $799.
  20. Buds has Smith & Wesson police surplus model 10 revolvers for $269-$299. I hate not having money! I thought I'd share with the TGO community. Trying to convince people I know to sell their Glocks and buy two of these instead. I'd love to have a little model 10 k-frame again... 21. Anybody have experience making their own primer only rounds? Perhaps something quieter and safer to shoot in the backyard? Perhaps wax or foam? Can a primer push anything out of a barrel? I know I've seen reusable 9mm plastic rounds somewhere on the web before.    What are your experiences?
  22.       I'm glad you renewed your membership. Having previously made only two posts in the last four years I hope you understand why others might have thought you were trying to sell/trade without having to renew. Thanks for being understanding! :)
