  1. I wiped my old ones, then let my kids use them as IPOds. Perfect for loading tons of music onto as they can still be used with wifi. On a cheap 8 gig iphone 4 I got almost 900 songs loaded onto it. I also use an old one to travel with as a cheap camera and add a few map and translation apps on it.
  2. New Walmart in my area opening Wednesday. Walked thru tonight with the manager and there was no shortage of AR rifles. She said she is hoping to have some .22 ammo by opening but made no mention of being limited on what kind of guns they could order. Based on what I hear there, the store manager pretty much makes those ordering decisions.
  3. I will say I'm spoiled to live in one of 7 gig cities in TN. We have had the gig for 3 years, just after Chattanooga and the best part has been that the local utility got into the cable business and caused Charter and Comcast to get competitive. My utility still saves over $40 per month on a very similar bundle, except I laugh at Charter when they call and tell me I can now get 50 megs!
  4. Again, 1'gig sounds awesome until you have to pay for the hardware upgrades to actually use it. It is nice to say I get a gig, but there is a reason that none of the call centers in Chattanooga use a full gig and they move tons of data daily. Volkswagen doesn't even use a gig within its supplier network. It comes in very handy processing medical scans and the transfer of those or other huge density files. It is nice to say lots of new people have signed up but if you went to everyone's home and tested up and down speeds, their equipment could barely handle 1/4 of what's available. Granted, that is still 10x what Charter and Comcast offer at lower tier pricing.
  5. There are allready 7 cities in TN that the local utilities provide a gigabit. Not a huge deal and as others have said, unless. You have the hardware to handle it, there is no use for it. As of last count in Chattanooga, there were only 8 residential customers taking a gigabit and none were even using it fully. Unless you move tons of data, it does you no good. Charter and comcast fight the utilities providing a gig as these utilities also provide phone and cable now at much cheaper rates.
  6. Bodies and red panels and plane parts, I'd say the conspiracy theorists are hating life today.
  7. Their $99 pistol and $49 shotgun online deal was an epic fail. Check their Facebook page for the displeasure. Seems like their site "crashed" during the sale but was up and running fine with items at full price after the sale. A lot of people seemed to get them ordered then be charged full price because they were " out of stock" at the sale price but they were available for full price with plenty of stock. Makes me re think my Sevierville visits.
  8. I'm avoiding this one, too many unsafe discharges for me and my small child. Not the best venue to teach a kid about gun safety.
  9. It is a little ways out, but the Bubbling Springs range in Cocke County is an option. It is past Del Rio and you can find more info on it at the US Forrest Service site.
  10. There are already 7 communities in Tennessee with 1 gig fiber to the home capability. The problem is with that bandwidth, you will need big time hardware upgrades. For example, as of last year, excluding industries, there were only 7'customers in Chattanooga taking a full gig. It is funny that Charter advertises 60 meg! I laugh at them and tell them I can get 1000 meg if I want it. They don't know how to respond to that. Morristown T n has 1 gig fiber to the home if you want it as well.
  11. The German works council's are very strong but don't try to strong arm the companies that employ their people. The works council still focuses on priorities of US unions from years ago. I got a good lesson from a union worker when I was 18. Had a huge box to lift for the workers of a company. Everyone was at lunch except 1 guy. Claimed he couldn't help me because he was in a union. What a joke. US unions have become nothing but a support system for laziness and in the southeast US, laziness is frowned upon by most of us. There are still a few that receives their monthly paycheck in the mailbox and wouldn't lift a finger to work, but the unions can keep their ideas of how to run a company in the north. They sure have done wonders for Detroit. If not for every US taxpayer's contribution, the "US" automakers would be bankrupt today.
  12. It is a 400 job, 25 million cap x so it will be a production facility.
  13. Wal Mart may not rape us like some stores but a 50 percent increase in 50 rd boxes of 9mm is a pretty strong increase. Right before everything started, my wal mart was 10 per 50 on federal 9mm, now it is 15.
  14. Actually TN is in the running for 3 gun or ammo manufacturers right now. Magpul was discussed, but they had no desire to leave the general area. Hard to believe due to the ease of logistics in TN. Tennessee is usually ranked in the top 5 in the country in recruitment of manufacturing jobs.
  15. Tennessee has been working on this for over 6 months. They usually stay confidenential for a long time! TN is in the running for multiple firearm manufacturers at the moment!
