  4. Why is it that some folks express an interest in something, want to meet, set a date and then don't respond when a confirmation is requested. It's just downright rude. Kinda chaps my hide.
  5. Keep in mind that the Caniks are manufactured ti ISO9000 standards.  That says a lot for quality, fit & finish.
  6. I too am very happy that your injuries were not worse.  You certainly got my attention.  I was never concerned about static electricity but I am now.
  7. volzfan...I do all my own work.  I'll have to document the next one with before and after photos.  The CZ-82 pictured was a typical military pistol.  Minor holster wear, scratches, chipped finish and a bit of metal showing through the old finish.  I take them apart, check the innards, polish the barrel and prep them well before the Dura Coat process.  I'd be happy to do yours too.    Drop yours off anytime Matt.  Just give me a call and we can set a time.
  8. Thanks for the kind words guys.  In my opinion, CZ builds some mighty fine firearms.
  9. Yup, she looks good doesn't she.  I also installed an upgraded firing pin and hardened steel action rollers.  She does have a good home and she will get plenty of attention.  It was nice meeting you and I hope you are well.
  10. They look a lot different than they used to.look.
  11. Beautiful job.  I can feel the love that went into that.
  12. I went through these two mechanically, did some polishing, replaced what needed replacing and they both run smooth and true. Time for some makeup. I know purists won't much like these but they were both service pistols and they looked used. I did not replace grips or purchase any cosmetic upgrades. I just worked with what I had.
  13. It performs well.  It's no target pistol but as a defensive weapon, it would work just fine.  No failures have been experienced.  I make sure they function well mechanically before doing the cosmetic work.
  14. Excellent job!!  That looks as good as it shoots.  Something to be proud of, for sure.
  15. I photographed the Toke outside. The gold pops better than the CZ pic taken inside. I am working on a Makarov and a CZ52 next.
  16. I am a fan of Dura Coat. I had a couple of pistols Ceracoated by someone else and I was not thrilled with the results. I may give Ceracoat a shot myself one of these days but so far, my results with Dura coat have been quite satisfactory. I recently Dura Coated this Tokarev and the results were good. However, Dura Coat does take about three weeks to completely cure.
  17. JAB wins for the best post on this topic.  I am glad this one is over with.  I think we all got too jacked up.
  18. Wow!! I am blown away guys.  Thank you so much for the compliments.  I felt the same way as JAB did.  The Toke's lines are not eye candy by any means.  It reminds me of the skinny, squared off girl that nobody paid attention to.  Since I like the caliber and function of the pistol, after tuning it I gave a shot to dolling her up.  I saw a Sig done in that gold & black two-tone and figured I'd give it a try.  Admittedly, she looks better with her makeup on  ;-)
  19. I picked up some dies and I am considering simply cutting down and reforming .223 cases for the Toke.  I have dot sights on it but I have not fired it out to any extended range.  It shoots to point of aim at 50-feet.  It groups well too.  I really like the caliber and enjoy shooting the pistol.  I am trying to decide if I like the aftermarket muzzle brake.  I think it may look better without it.     Have fun with your project.  I love to tinker with these things.  There is always room for improvement of function with these old military pistols and it's fun to outshoot your buddy when he is sporting a "new" pistol that he paid three times as much for.
