  1. I guess so. But I still feel as if you still get what you pay for, to a certian degree. You can always find something that will get the job done, but I have a hard time settling something that will just get the job done. I always want a little nicer. It's just another pain in the a$$ when it comes to the building of this rifle. As of now, it's a love/hate thing. I'm sure I bring most of it on myself. I can be so damn indecisive. If I had an endless budget, things would be so much easier.
  2. I attepmted to stay around $1000 (not including optics), but I'm well over that so far.
  3. Nothing wrong with that. You'll save yourself a whole bunch of money. I kinda planned on going a similar route, but I quickly drifted from my original plans. I tried to stay within a budget, but that went out the window shortly after I purchased the stripped lower. Fill us in on your progress.
  4. You're off and runnin'. What components are you planning on going with?
  5. Yea, but I'd like to become a member. It's the closest club/range to my home, but their website always claims that membership is full.
  6. Still on my diet, so nothing exciting. I've been eating lots of Subway. 6" Turkey on wheat. No cheese. Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, bananna peppers and fat free sweet onion. I have no idea how much weight I've lost (I was too afraid to weigh myself in the beginning of the diet), but my pants are fitting a bit more loosely today than they were 2 weeks ago. I have a very long way to go, but I'm feeling better.
  7. How about China trying to convince everyone that their 10 year athletes are really 16+? I'm not buying it. They have at least one or two girls who are nowhere near 16.
  8. An amazing body, she has. She made my girlfriend slap me a few dozen times while watching her perform last night. You've got that right. I watched her perform last night, and it's amazing to see her keep up with the girls half her age. But she does have a few extra male genes in her.
  9. No, it has not.
  10. I think this is the closest one. Gallatin Gun Club has some 100,200 and 300 ranges, but I don't think they'll let you shoot there without being a member. And becoming a member at GCC doesn't seem like an easy task. Other than that, Owl Hollow and Hobson Pike are probably the closest. Once I get my AR finished, I'll be right behind ya.
  11. Yea, you need a good lawyer. This sounds like it could easily turn into a huge mess.

Never had the luxury of trying any of them. I wouldn't mind trying a few.

  18. My recollection is exactly the same as yours.
  19. For some reason I thought you actually owned one. My bad.
  20. +1 Have your son or daughter proofread for you next time.
  21. IIRC, I took my certificate to the DL Testing Station, and filled out the paperwork. Then I went to Academy of Personal Protection & Security (Hill Ave. Nashville) for the fingerprinting. I was in and out of there in less than 5 minutes. No appointment needed. BTW, Congrats on finally getting through the HCP class. Yes, we had complete morons in our class as well. And no, I wasn't one of them.
  22. Have you tried yours in the bright sunlight? I was reading some reviews, and while most were quite favorable, I did read quite a few complaints about the red dot and circle not being very visible in bright light. Also, I saw quite a few negative reviews concerning the porr quality/fit of the lens covers. Most suggested buying an aftermarket set of covers. These issues may have been corrected by Millett, but I wanted to make sure. What say you?
  23. First is what Bernie Mac--now Issac Hayes?
  24. OK, I've decided not to go with the EOTech that I was gonna get from Joe at Hero Gear. I put some real serious thought into what exactly I was going to use this AR for, and I believe a rifle scope will better suit my needs. As for which scope I'll be going with--that's still up in the air. So, if anyone is interested in a pretty darn good deal on that EOTech 511, contact Joe at Hero Gear. From what I understand, it's not technically brand new, but there is no way you could tell by loking at it. From what I recall, it looked absolutely perfect to me. I'm sure Joe could give you better details. The hunt is on for a scope.
