  1. What do you mean by "neutered"?
  2. What's the difference between Pre and Post-Ban barrel assemblies?
  3. After spending more time on some other forums, I've realized how bad most of them suck. TGO seems so much more personal, and it's full of great local folks. I'm just thankful for this site, and everyone who puts out the effort to keep it going.
  4. Thanks for all you do! Keep up the amazing work!
  5. You'll never go wrong with an XD. Very nice choice. Congrats and Enjoy!
  6. Thanks for the helpful info, Tungy. Seems most places have them for roughly $200. That's much easier to swallow than the $700 optics.
  7. Yea. I believe BrandonTN purchased a Del-Ton. Being so new to this, I'm still unsure who had quality products.
  8. Hey now. That's not fair. Well, as long as it's not used against me, have at it.
  9. LOL....Thanks! I thought it was so good that I had to use it in another thread.
  10. As I stated in a previous thread; Let us know when you're ready to move up to the Hi-Points.
  11. Hell, next year we may not even be able to buy a rifle.
  12. I don't know any more about them that I do any other AR's, but the prices seem to be out of my range.
  13. Simply based on their prices, Colt people must really be proud. Too rich for my blood.
  14. Touché! Glocks are Ok, I guess. Let us know when you're ready to move up to the Hi-Point.
  15. That's pretty awesome. At least you steered him in the right direction with the XD. Keep us informed with their progress.
  16. Thanks again. I have plans most of the day on the 4th, but again, that's all weather permitting. They are calling for chances of rain from now until next week.
  17. Question- I've seen some rifles for sale, and they call them a "clone". Example is M16A4 Clone. Does that simply mean it's an AR15 made to look like the M16?
  18. That sounds like a plan to me. I'd really appreciate that. If the weather permits, I will take you up on that offer. I really need to make it to some shoots, so I can get a chance to really check them out and learn as much as I can from everyone else. I know almost nothing about them.
  19. No, the barrel doesn't need to extend quite that far. I was hoping I could use a shorter barrel with a shorter handguard. I just like the smooth and clean look of a rifle like the one I pictured. The only thing that needs to be exact is the stock.
  20. Yes, I'd like to stay with the 5.56/.223 I may have heard him wrong when he said something about the barrel rotating. I know he said the barrel would rotate, but it may not have been an M4. By the way, the $800 price limit would likely be without optics. I'm fairly sure of that.
  21. I'm happy that you're happy. I'm confident that she's found a wonderful home. Yes, I'm assuming it's a she. Thank you, Burboy. Yes, it's nice knowing she didn't go too far.
  22. This is my " I know very little about them, but I really want one" thread! I've been having a serious hankering for an AR15 of some sort, but the more I read, the more confused I get. I've been spending a whole lot of time over at AR15.com, but all the info is leaving me batty. So many options, and I have no clue where to begin. I do know that I'd like something similar to this, but it doesn't need to be exact. I do know that I want that stock, a very similar grip, and a smooth and sleek type hand guard. I also know that I do not want a handle. Optic ready is what I'm after. And I'd really really like to stay under $800. I'm not sure if all this is possible, but it's what I'm after. I'm also unsure about the barrel. I guess a 16" or 18"(?) barrel would be good, but do I go chrome lined or not? From what I understand, the chrome lined barrels last longer, but may be slightly less accurate. Then today, I had someone tell me that I need to go with an M4 barrel. The way it was explained to me, an M4 barrel rotaes with every shot? This just sounds more expensive? Anyway, that's about as far as I've gotten so far. As you can tell, I probably have more questions that I do answers. Will Be Continued! Oh, and this rifle will not need to be set up for lasers, lights, toasters or microwaves. Some optics is about it.
  23. You got rid of an XD for that? Just pickin'. Enjoy your new little friend.
  24. It sounds like you are doing a fine cleaning job. If you are concerned about spaces you can not reach, try using a cleaning spray. Most come with a very thin straw that attaches to the spray nozzle. This will help you get a bit deeper into the gun. As far as oil goes, usually, a very small amount goes a long way. Put a small amount of oil where needed, put gun back together, then simply wipe off extra oil. Extra oil isn't such a bad thing. The only real drawback to extra oil is the fact that while shooting, crud tends to build up a bit faster. Not realla big deal in most cases. Best of luck.
