  1. Yes. "subject to the laws of the State in which the firearm is carried concerning specific types of locations in which firearms may not be carried."
  2. It means anyone with a HCP can carry in any state.
  3. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be a good idea. But, I'm sure someone will come along and set me striaght.
  4. This would be a question for our resident "I'm here to make sure your building is properly posted" guy, Voldemort. He'll be along soon.
  5. Thanks for taking the time to make that. I'll pass it on to my father, and see what he thinks. I'm still not sure what kind of look he's really after, but you did a very nice job. Thanks again.
  6. I've only had the luxury of meeting his family 1 time, and that was at the wedding. Thankfully, they were on their best behavior. It was quite evident that they were slightly on the redneck(ish) side, but living in Tennessee, it's become more than commonplace. Not that all rednecks are bad, just the ones with the ghetto mixed in.
  7. Now there's a stupid question. Everyone knows it's through the secret door in the back of the ammo closet.
  8. I'm a real fan of the XD's. For me, they are perfect. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Congrats.
  9. Just remember--No question is a stupid question.
  10. Nothing in Madison is safe, nothing. The park in question is a well-known hangout for the homosexuals. That's a fact.
  11. I'm confident that this law doesn't exist, but other can;t seem to be swayed. I was talking to one of our drivers, and he swears that when he went through Schneider's driving school 15 years ago, they told him it was against the law.
  12. My email is xd40owner@comcast.net
  13. That would be fine with me, cause I'll just buy me a Glcok. Everyone knows they can make it through metal detectors.
  14. The owner on the vehicle suggested they take his vehicle instead of their own. They did check with the insurance companies, and the vehicle owners insurance would begin the process if an accident was to occur, and the actual drivers insurance would cover anything the owners insurance wouldn't pay for. The owner and driver knew how it was supposed to work. The problem is, now that an accident actually occured, the owner doesn't want his insurace company to be contacted. Again, his insurance would need to start the process, and then the drivers insurance would handle it from there.
  15. :P;)
  16. Your opinions are stupid, and your momma dresses you funny.
  17. Agreed! Many times my opinions differ from others on TGO, but that's actually one of the aspects I truly like about TGO. I don't agree with everyone, all of the time, and I'm quite sure many disagree with my opinions. As grown men and women, we should be long past the "I'm takin' my ball and goin' home" pahses in our lives. I have some very close friends whom I often disagree with, and vice versa, but never have we concidered not being friends over differing opinions. There are a handful of members who I often disagree with, but I'd still love to hang out with them at the range, or a cold one. Differing opinions is one of the many things I find most fascinating about people in general. Stupidity, one the other hand, that's a whole nother story. BTW--I can only imagime who's ignore list I've made.
  18. He makes some very good points, but for some reason I still see a lot of "because I can" in the article. Maybe it's the "out of sight, out of mind" aspect I prefer. To each his/her own. Either way, carry on.
  19. True! I should have worded that better. I meant "guns" in general.
  20. Because I'm one of the people who see no reason to open carry, I'm wondering if anyone would like to share any reasons/situation as to why it is a good idea to open carry? I see some mention that they OC in "certian situations", but not sure if I've seen many specifics. I understand if your at a location where you fully intend to be shooting your weapon (range, match/shoot, etc.), but other than that, I don't see it.
  21. You've probably hit the nail on the head. This probably isn't all that uncommon. Many people who buy a handgun strictly for home defense, feel much safer simply having a gun in the home. Doesn't matter that it's up a flight a stairs, down a halway, around the corner, in the bedroom, locked in a safe in the back of the closet. They feel safer. That's until a BG kicks in the door while everyone is gathered around the boob tube watching American Idol, and they have about 0.1111111111 seconds to make the trek to the gun safe for protection. I've met more than a few people just like this. Buy a gun for HD, yet they have no clue if the thing actually works, because they didn't bother making a simple trip to the range. They are all too often the same people who use their children as an excuse as to why they don't leave thier HD weapon in an accessible location in the case of such an event.
  22. Honestly, get both, and sell what you don't like. Both have their pro's and con's. Both have their place in different situations. The worst draw back to a laser system is, the fact that you tend to rely on them so much that you tend to ignore the true marksmenship of owning/using/carrying a firearm. Either way, practice, practice, practice.
  23. I think I agree 100% Because I see no reason, other than the "I can" factor, I would presume that a large percentage of people who OC want to gain the attention of others. In a nutshell, it's negative attention seeking, IMHO.
  24. Congrats. It's nice to hear you had a great time. Get down to the DMV, then it's time for mailbox duty. Take it easy on the mailman/woman.
