  1. Hey now! The law says he can do it. Thus meaning it's perfectly acceptable. Just ask him.
  2. Where are you finding XD's for $299?
  3. I thought they did a Limited Edition, non-stainless, 686, in 1989?
  4. This is a quote. "According to my sales rep they should be in the dealer's hands (that attended this small showing) by next week. They could not give me a 100% on this because it seems like Springfield Armory is limiting the information they pipe down the line. I'll have a in depth talk with my sales rep about this. Don't hold me to this because it varies by region. I still need to wait until they can pack some NY compliant guns (10 round mags.)" As far as prices, not real sure. Their best guess was somewhere near "Glock" prices. I think I really like this Bi-Tone Model. I want one.
  5. Thank you, everyone, for all the support. Yes, I thought about the Gastric Bypass, and even went for a meeting at the hospital. My insurance wouldn't cover it, though. After looking into it, I know I can do this on my own. it will undoubtedly take much time and effort, but I can and will do it. I'm a single father of a beautiful 9 year old daughter, and she should be motivation enough.
  6. Here are some more pics of the new XD-M
  7. WOW! For some reason I thought someone told me they couldn't own guns in Canada. Now I know for sure.
  8. Where are the "after" pictures? Hope you're healing well.
  9. I didn't think they could own guns. Not one of these anyway.
  10. My mouth was watering when I saw the TAVOR on "Future Weapons".
  11. No, unfortunately, it wasn't a new firearm that I'd so love to have. It was a "start to a healthier me". A 1 1/2-2 mile walk is just what I needed. I'm 6'3", and well over 400lbs. Honestly, I've been scared to step on a scale (even if I could find one to weigh my fat a$$), so I could be much closer to 500 than I'd like to imagine. Bottom line--I'm fat, and it's well beyond time for me to do something about it. I'm gonna attepmt to do this at least 5 times a week, maybe more. Luckily, I have a friend who's also quite fat, and she's agreed to walk with me. This will really help with the motivation factor. Anyway, I'm on my way to a Brad Pitt physique.
  12. Do you not realize whom you're talking to?
  13. Come on! They're only here for the jobs us lazy Americans don't want. Access to free stuff is the least we can do. Heck, without them, how would anything get done around here?
  14. With questions like this, it's always best to call your local Police Department.
  15. I've yet to hear one (in person) that's as quiet as they make them out to be on TV.
  16. I am a Second Degree Red Belt in HapKiDo, and a Red/Black Belt in TaeKwonDo. It's been several years and pounds ago, but I still remember plenty.
  17. If Tennessee does offer the HCP class in Spanish, they shouldn't. Same with the drivers license testing.
  18. I don't know of any "stock" full-auto .22's, but there is a conversion for the Ruger 10/22. Guns & Leather is Class III. [ame] [/ame]
  19. From what information I've found, the "52" series is the ammo to stay away from. I guess that batch has had more problems than any.
  20. The "10" is the country (Bulgarian) code, and the "53 is the year is was produced. As far as the splitting goes, I, personally, wouldn't take the chance. On the other hand, I've seen many others shoot them, just as long as the bullet isn't loose. From what I've read on other forums, the cracking issue is very common with this ammo. It's also been reported that some Bulgarian ammo has blown up several CZ52's. I'm no expert, nor did this happen to me, but I thought it was worth a mention. Here is a post from one of the forums WARNING HERE---->Bulgarian 7.62 Tokarev in a CZ 52. OK, so my brother and I went out for a 2nd time with the "53" headstamped Bulgarian ammo. The stuff was cracking straight down to the head and I decided to quit. He was continiuing to fire when one round split right in half, blowing out and shattering the primer itself. The sand grain sized particles travelled quite effiecently through the firing pin hole straight into E.'s chest face and eyes. HE WAS BLEEDING A BIT AND DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT. His only clue, which was immediate, was that his safety glasses were instantly sandblasted. GOOD thing he had 'em on! In my first post I asked whether anyone alse had seen this, and was pleasntly surprised to see that several people had seen it. Little did I know the cases were split before firing! It took a younger man next to us on the firing line to see them. E wasn't hurt and that's the main thing. It doesn't matter how much wisdom people espouse concerning "buyer beware" and "you get what you pay for." What does matter is buying a product from a trusted source that advertised caution AND satisfaction--and getting pranged through and through. Anyone saying we (he) "had it coming" or "deserved it" should try and imagine themselves in E's position. Or instill into your mind a picture of a young person, a child of yours perhaps, without glasses shooting this garbage that we paid good money for and getting high speed primer cup metal in their eye. I wish this upon no-one. But people, this headstamp = trash-bin garbage ammo + waste of $$$ = an injury to someone, someday somewhere. Take Care all!!! The Country Code "10" - -Arsenal, Kazanlak (previously named Durjava Voenna Fabrika), Bulgaria (When found on ammunition made after 1946). -Russian State Arsenal, location unknown. Listed here to avoid confusion with Bulgarian factory using the same code. Found on ammunition made 1946 and earlier. Factory Ceased operations in 1946
  21. From what I understand, this is not a replacement for the current XD, but rather an additional/optional model. I hope I understand correctly.
  22. Happy birthday! Nice rifle!
  23. From someone who knows nothing about AR's, the scope is much too long. Other than that, it's pretty bad a$$.
