  1. Given these two are idiots but another sign of how much stress Gas prices are putting on everyone.
  2. Sounds like you all had a good time. It really is fun and exciting when you get the oppurtunity to introduce someone to shooting. Just over a month or so ago I had the chance to take my wife shooting for her first time at Coal Creek here in Knoxville. Before that day she had only shot a .22 rifle a couple times. By days end, we had rented about a dozen different firearms and now she's as hooked as I ever thought about being. I love it. It gives us both something to do and enjoy together.
  3. Al Gore ... now there, my friend, is your waste of space
  4. I dont know about all that considering all 5 starters were just drafted.
  5. I wonder if Phil lays in bed at night thinking he should donate a percentage of his Big Fat Salary to Pat Summit
  6. I keep getting a mental picture of ... ....
  7. Dang Bro, sounds like this squirrel might have been crossbred with some o' them Fightin' Cocks up in Del Rio :D .... j/k
  8. 8 NATIONAL TITLES, FOLKS , LET'S HEAR YOUR LADY VOL PRIDE !!! http://www.ucdailynews.com/sports/17412009.html The Tennessee Lady Vols are once again the champions of women's college basketball. Tennessee spotted Stanford 3-0, tied it at five and again at seven before taking the lead for good at 10-7. This was the eighth straight women's crown for the Lady Vol basketball team. Twice now they have gained the honor back to back. If ever there was any thoughts about Candace Parker's health, put it aside. She led the Lady Vols with 17. Not only leading the team in scoring but rebounding as well, nearly turning a double-double with 9 boards. Tennessee also got double digit scoring from Shannon Bobbit who chipped in 13 and Nicky Anosike had 12 and grabbed 8 boards for the Lady Vols. The Lady Vols came into the game holding opponents to less than 55 points while Stanford was averaging over 80 in the tournament. It appears that Tennessee held true to form, causing Stanford to falter. The Lady Vols defense not only held Stanford down but all everything Candice Wiggins. Wiggins had scored 151 total points in the tournament including two 40 point games. Tuesday night she scored only 14. Stanford in fact was led by Jayne Appel with 16. Stanford had won 23 in a row headed into the championship game but will end the season on a losing note to finish 35-4. The win for Tennessee was only their 8th even though they have been there 13 times. Tennessee won championships in 1987-1989-1991- 1996-1997-1998-2007-2008. Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer said "We did not play well. We did not handle the pressure well. The turnovers absolutely killed us." As for Tennessee, coach Pat Summitt was proud of the pressure the defense displayed..."They came out with a great mentality to play hard, especially on the defensive end." Summitt was also pleased with the offense. "On offense, we got more people involved, but it was our defense that got it done. I'm so proud of our seniors, I'm going to miss them." Tennessee finished 36-2 giving Summitt her 983rd win which includes those eight National Championships !!!!!!!!! ONE WORD : AWSOME !!!! BSG
  9. Ok, Thanks Boomhower, I appreciate that. Me and the wife did drop in Coal Creek Armory this past Thursday and decided to try out several different .22's and 9mm's for rent. Oddly enough as much as I am wanting to shoot the Kel Tecs we never got around to them in the rental case, though Coal Creek did have both a .32 and .380 Kel Tec for rent. We just got distracted with everything else on the Gun Buffet. But we kept it mostly on the .22 and 9 mainly because CCA sure bumps up the rental ammo prices, but that was to be expected. This trip was the first time my wife had ever shot a pistol. Before Thursday, she had never shot anything but a .22 rifle. I assured her anything 9mm and below she could handle with no problems. And I was correct she ended up really enjoying shooting the 9 and we knew the .22's were a given. I think we ended up shooting about 12 different guns. On the 9's we went with the Glock 19 and a Ruger SR9 which I really liked and shot well. I shot the SR9 a little high but was able to group nicely with it. Really like the trigger on the SR9 also. Shot a Beretta 92 and some type of CZ model. On the plinkers we shot a Browning Buckmark, Ruger Mark II , a S&W Titanium wheel gun. But the one that stole the show for me and my wife was Kimbers Rimfire Target 1911 ... WOW ! that thing was accuarte for both of us. And heaven knows I am way too poor to start falling in love with Kimbers ... [but I think I did]. A very nice fellow shooter named Matt let us shoot his Walther G22 Bullpup with Scope and Laser. Nice rifle with extreme accuracy but neither of us cared for the ventilation right there at your face. I also shot Matt's 1911 Kimber .45ACP {wifey said she wasnt ready for the .45} The Kimbers sure were nice , my first time shooting them. I also rented the Glock 32 {couldnt get wifey to tackle the .357Sig} but curiosity got to me. I loved that thing. The muzzle flash and extra BOOM sure made it a fun one to shoot and turned out I was more accurate with it than the Glock19 in 9mm. I would have never thought that. All in all we had a dang blast and stayed there almost 4 hours. I will keep you in mind on the P3At. I definitely need to shoot a Kel Tec before buying as I usually dont fare well with long, slow, heavy triggers. BSG
  10. I appreciate all the feedback guys .. Thanks I now understand why the Double Action Only . . makes perfect sense to me to have that long, heavy, slow trigger when its your only safety. Now I just need to rent one at Coal Creek Armory and test drive this trigger for myself. BSG
  11. Hey, thanks for the link my friend. I like it BSG
  12. WELCOME !! I'm a new kid on the block also but looks like a great board BSG
