  1. In regards to the altercation a few weeks prior, his response was he that he was attacked in the parking lot, but he refused to press charges. If that is true, I sure don't blame him for being armed.
  2. Prayers for your dad, family and also for you!
  3. Very nice! I'm definitely an amateur, but you might consider cropping the top and bottom when you get it framed. Thanks for sharing.
  4. I would definitely be getting the oil sampled. I have used Blackstone in Fort Wayne, IN for samples in the past with professional results. I'm sure there are many others as well.
  5. Voting for term limits was probably the worst voting mistake of my life. It sounded like a good idea at the time, but in reality it removed the 3 or 4 really good county commissioners in Knox County and replaced them with zero good commissioners. I have no informed opinion on the current commissioners though.
  6. Had to refresh my memory of trigonometry a bit, but calculated that if there was a drop of 52 feet it would require an upward angle of 2 degrees. There is some elevation drop to the target as the target is near the water level. You have better eyes than I if you can see 2 degrees or so from horizontal. Also the time for the bullet to reach the target and the sound to return is just under 3 seconds, which is what would be expected. I would say this shot is real.
  7. I've got a similar problem with the AC in my truck. It sounds like a bearing to me as it squeals all the time. I replaced the serpentine belt with a belt for a non-AC truck temporarily until warmer weather.
  8. Glock 42. The new .380 sf is tempting for summer carry or a backup.
  9. Your post made my hair stand on end. Thanks for sharing.
  10. That's funny, because I quit buying ammo at gun stores because I couldn't get deodorant there. Just kidding.
  11. Thanks for posting. My grandfather ran a logging camp in PNF during that time and dad said you had to shoo the deer away to keep them out of your way.
  12. I'll be in the dirt before I buy from Cheaper than Dirt!
  13. Rodman is a weird one alright, but I think he has good intentions. Developing some dialog with your enemies is usually a good thing. He just pissed Obama off when he suggested he call Kim and that is why they are investigating.
  14. For a thrifty rifle, follow Luke9511's advice and look at Mosin-Nagants. Rifle is inexpensive and so is ammo. Try to buy items that you would use anyway (buy cans of beef stew, soup or whatever)and don't buy expensive freeze dried foods You will be bugging in, so you won't be carrying the stuff. If you have a garden, try canning as much as possible to reduce costs.
  15. I have my homeowners through State Farm and my vehicles through TN Farm Bureau. They both say I would save money by having all insurance with one company, but in the 5 or 6 times I got both of them to quote me combined insurance, it has always been cheaper to have them separate. Go figure.
  16. I have a Charter Undercover I bought in 1975 with serial number 358XXX. I read that they produced serial number 500,000 in September 1979. Based on that I would guess your revolver should have been produced in the early eighties. I like my Undercover and still carry it occasionally. I'm not sure of value, but would guess it would be in the $250 to $300 range.
  17. 4th grade - missed recess that day.
  18. My guess would be Israel unloads on Iran.
  19. Tomorrow will be my last day as a subcontractor. I think I have a one day/week subcontract lined up though. Would rather work one day/week than draw unemployment. No back pay for subcontractors as compared to federal workers. Thankfully I have an emergency fund and also draw a small retirement check.
  20. I got the impression that the transfer of ownership has been in progress for a while, but will be final on 10/22.
  21. Went to Coal Creek Armory today and found out they have new ownership. Name is changing to Tactical Advantage on October 22. Owner is very knowledgeable and seems to be okay.
