Well congratulations. Now get packing!

Precisely what we are saying. Military guys might give a comrade a break if they go into a situation and some bystander gets killed or wounded. Such an event might not get reported by his buddies. It was an accident during a tense moment. But if a soldier goes in with the intention of violating international law and doesn't get reported, the men keeping silent become party to the crime. All are criminals. That's how I see the situation with LE. Some officer speeding a bit because he's thinking of other things might get let go. But an officer who breaks the law knowingly because he expects other officers to cover up for him is in the wrong profession, and so are the officers who let him get away with it. We need a dead horse emoticon.

Yeah, be careful of my missile.

That's how I feel about vacations. Why should I vacation in some place that doesn't respect my right to protect myself?

Well, I do find your analysis puzzling. Actually, the term I usually use for Yeager is "blowhard", but the guys I've talked to in Baghdad have called him a laughingstock.

Here is a pretty good reference: http://www.nraila.org/GunLaws/FederalGunLaws.aspx?ID=59

If it's my car that is stolen, the death penalty is entirely appropriate. I like the idea that during the commission of a crime, the perp becomes an outlaw and is fair game for whatever people want to do to them.

Well, I guess we'll just have to disagree. What I saw was a guy run to the wrong location behind a vehicle under fire, leave a wounded man, and run across a road to hide in a ditch. I find nothing noble in that.

Rambo always reminded me of Rocky Balboa on steroids. -
Precisely. He can be forgiven for his cowardice. But I'm not willing to forgive him for pretending he did the right thing. He didn't and professionals currently in the field I've talked to see it as I do to a man. BTW JPH, I'm a year younger than you and a Vietnam vet. But I've had a lot of action since then too. I have never left a wounded buddy and never will. That is what Yeager did and the man died. Sorry you think that's OK to do that.

The question is not discretion to let everyone go. The question is giving some people purposeful special leeway because they are in the same profession as the person who caught them. Yes, I think that should be criminal behavior. It's just a matter of treating everyone the same. There is just no public purpose served in letting LEOs get by with a crime you would ticket or arrest someone for who is not a LEO. I think there is a good public purpose in not allowing it.

Springfield XD Kaboom due to overloaded ammo

It's a matter of getting organized. With some powders, you can't double load. They have too much volume to fit in the case. It's good to fill a case and then immediately move it to a location with your other filled cases. Sometimes you just forget to do things in proper order. Sort of like why we have Glock ADs when doing a field strip. No good reason for it but it's easy to do. -
I understand the site and the ribbing at the anti-gun folks. But it seems to me they are trying to make some bucks on it too.

Professional courtesy is something someone with professional shills does to barter their services. It has nothing to do with letting others ignore laws. That's not professional courtesy, it's unprofessional behavior. It should be criminal behavior. As I said over in another forum, I really don't think I can be reasonably accused of being anti-cop. I think of myself as a strong supporter of professional law enforcement. But because of what I do, I know what police can and can not achieve. I can also differentiate between professional behavior and non-professional behavior - something that an awful lot of cops can't seem to fathom. I am as critical of LE as I am the military guys I work with. That's how it should be. I just don't have the authority to properly discipline bad cops. If I had my way, we would fire the yahoos in the departments who do not act professionally and double the salary of the good officers who are left. And a cop in Kansas City agreed with me.

Are these really the only states with reciprocity?
Marswolf replied to Branket's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I don't know if the law has changed in Ohio in the past four years, but as of September 24, 2003, there was no statute, in the state of Ohio, which prohibited the carrying an unconcealed firearm, on your person. See http://www.ohioccw.org/files/hamiltoncounty.pdf. Apparently the game is to automatically arrest law abiding open carrying citizens for disorderly conduct or inducing panic. Sort of LE making the law to suit their prejudices. But either way, I think you are right Phantom. That map is going to get some people in trouble. If they have a lot of money and a good lawyer, they might end up ahead, but who would want to own Cleveland? -
Wow! this is some fantastic footage of a car chase. http://www.officer.com/videonetwork/index.jsp?showid=378811 BLUE ASH, Ohio -- A driver was killed and two officers were injured Tuesday after a police chase and shooting. Daryl Black, a passenger, said all he wanted was a ride to the store. What he got instead was the wildest ride of his life. Already, he's having nightmares, newsnet5.com partner WLWT-TV in Cincinnati reported. "I thought I was a goner," Black said. Black, 28, was riding with Charles Bennett, 37, when Blue Ash police tried to pull him over for erratic driving near Sycamore High School. Instead, Bennett made a run for it. Wednesday night, Black watched the dashcam video from the Blue Ash cruisers that chased Bennett early Tuesday morning. "What I am thinking here is, 'Get me out of this car ? you're going to kill us," he said. Black said he didn't know that the car was stolen. He said that he tried to grab the wheel, but couldn't. Black said Bennett never said a word during the entire chase. Eventually, after being hit by police cruisers at least twice, Bennett's car stopped and an officer jumped on the hood of the car, firing through the windshield. "I thought I was a dead man, you know? I thought he was going to shoot me when he was up on that thing. I kept on saying 'No, no, no, don't shoot!" Black said. Bennett died at Bethesda North Hospital, but Black was unharmed and police quickly determined he was an innocent bystander. "Going through a chase and then watching an officer shoot several shots in a window, when you think the next bullet is for you, it's unreal," Black said. The three officers who fired shots during the pursuit are on administrative leave.

I suggest you go into Wal-Mart with a Klan T-shirt and an empty holster.
-
Isn't that nice of them. You can join their tribe and buy a T-shirt for only $20-$25. I like the "classic thong" for only $8.50. But they do get uncomfortable after a while - I hear....

I've been to that base many times. Someone else around here has too.... Yeah, the 226 is nice but heavy. Something lighter would be good, and I always recommend something flat for concealed carry.
