  1. If you want to see the best selection of safes go see The Safe House. I have bought two safes from them and they blow all of the other dealers in TN out of the water. They have Browning and Liberty , which are the ones I bought and Superior and Fort Knox I believe. The guy who owns it is a straight shooter and will help you pick the right safe. They will deliver and instally your safe , which is interesting to watch them do.
  2. Purchased a Surefire 100 round 556 mag awhile back and not happy with the feeding of the shells.  It jams up and doesn't feed smoothly.  Any one else had any experience with one of these mags?
  3. Looked at the safe house and other places before I bought a safe and the guys at the safe house are great !  If you can afford it the Fort Knox is the best out of all of them, but more expensive, the champion is not as good a safe from my research but will be better than the big box safes.   Forget the little guys who sell safes the safe house has more safes than all of them put together and he will match there prices if its legit.   Oh , get a bigger one than you think you need.
  4. I have bought two safes from the guys at the safe house, couldn't be happier !  Checked out just about every place in town and even one out of town and they had the best selection and brands in the area.  the deliver fee's were not unreasonable and their delivery crew was top notch and made it all look easy.  These guy carried an 1100 pound safe up my 15 steps , not a scratch on anything.   I ahd a neighbor get a safe from a local company and they had so called "free delivery" and he paid more for the safe and the delivery guys look like they were on work release from the county jail.  Told him to get the safe house to come out and change his combo just in case.    make sure you get a bigger safe is something I woudl suggest
  5. as I ve stated before ,looked around for a long time when I moved to Nashville looking for a safe and found no better place to look for a safe than The Safe House, best selection with hundreds of safes at the showroom and they have many brands not just one to choose from. All of the other places I looked at only had a one or two brands to chose from and I felt like they were pushing those because that was all they sold.  The guys I talked to at The Safe house were friendly not pushy and showed me the difference in the brands instead of just pushing one brand.  They have been around for a long time and I even ran into a customer of there's the other day and he had bought three safes from theim and sends all of his buddies buy safes from them.    Wouldn't by a safe from anyone else,
  6. When I moved to Nashville I looked around for over six months for a gun safe.  My head started spinning with all of the choices and information that I received.  Talked to every dealer in the area and most were helpful but a lot keep pushing one brand because that is all they carried, most of the big box stores only carry lower end import safes that were nothing more than window dressing and a sticker on the front of the safe.  I finally went down to The Safe House and one of the guys down there cut through all of the BS and explained the differences between the brands , he carries a bunch of brands so he didn't push one over the other, just told me the differrneces and what was fact over fiction. No pressure and as a matter of fact encouraged me to take my time and get the safe I felt fit my needs, he did stress to get a bigger safe than I thought I needed and I would say that was good advice ! because I would have already filled up the smaller one I was going to get the first time i looked.   These guys are top notch and will expain stuf and don't mind you asking dumb questions over and over like I did the three times I came by there showroom.   I would recommend them to anyone.
  7. Have a friend looking for a gun safe that lives in the Knoxville area, does anyone know a good place in the area to get a good safe?  I know if The Safe House in Nashville but was wondering  if there was a local dealer in that area before he drives to Nashville.
  8. it seems to be that when another vendor puts up a post for a special you come in behind them and undercut them and you banner ad copies what they have been saying for along time. When I check their prices vs yours they still beat you and were much more accompdating . I understand business is business but get an original ad not just a copy of someone else, it makes you seem like you are just pissed at the guy for competeing with you. just my opinion
  9. I visited The Safe House Monday around 2 o'clock and they were open and I looked around for awhile and they answered my questions AGAIN ! I have gone by their business a few times and they have always been very nice to me and have not gottn tired of me asking a 1000 questions. they have a very good selection of safes and from my research, have the best prices. My problem is I can't make up my mind. I would give the guy a break if you want the best deal on a safe.
  10. I think that a reloading table should be kinda like a work bench table, the more stained it becomes the better ! It lets me know that I'm using it. On thing I learned after making my first one years ago is to make it heavy duty as possible.
  11. I have droped by this place a few times looking at a safes and would have to say everyone has been very patient with me asking a bunch of questions and they have a warehouse full of safes . my only problem is decideing which safe to get.
  12. LJ, doing some research and will see which one I like, I know it won't be the Patriot, saw the guts and construction of the one with pictures on this thread and for the 2k that it cost I can get a US made safe. The safes guy answered my email and I havent talked to the dickson guy yet . Want to support a local company not someone one the other side of the country. Owl
  13. Dennis, Beautiful gun as it is, but I would chose the black ones to replace the wood Owl
  14. took a look at the Patriot safe first hand and will pass on that one, will have to give the Dickson guy a call. Went to the safe house today and had a visit, huge selection , he is in the lead so far and he will deliver, very straight forward and not pushy. Haven't heard back for the safes guy yet. Thanks to every one for the rec's . are any of the gun shows worth going to shop for a safe?
  15. I just went by and took a look at the safe house and want he has in stock and while he was busy with a mother customer he took the time to answer my mostly goof ball questins . He showed the the Patriot safe only after I asked about it , it was stuck in a corner out of the way and all I would say is just go take a look at it, wow ! As for other brands he has a lot in stock and will deliver my safe, as I suspected the better safes cost more but he had plenty in the 2k range. I mentioned tgo and he indicated that he had emailed you and said he didnt intend to piss you off. He just seems like straight shooter and does not pull punches , you either like it or not. As I said prior post I would rather be told the truth instead of someone bsing me and just telling me what I want to hear. I didnt see what he said about your gun though . Now im gonna talk to the safes dude and see what he has to say and compare. Owl
