  1. That’s awesome. $90 is a small price to pay for that kind of piece of mind, I’ll look into one, plus I like that reflective collar too. Handsome and useful.

    Thanks for for the insight!

That is exactly why I had a chip put in Darby and most folks can find her with their cell phones and will get an alert on their phones if she gets in their neighborhood. We tested in when I moved out here and it still works on everyones smart phones out here as well. If you do get the dog back home my suggestion would be get both dogs chipped.

What kind of chip is hat Doug? I got my boy chipped with Home Again chip and it doesn’t offer the gps type tracking like that, which I wish it had. It’s an RFID chip that only works to give a code that will access my contact information.

Any info on what Darby has?

  3. I’ll just mention Second Harvest in east Nashville as another very cool, very worthy organization that is always looking for food, canned or fresh, blankets, clothes, etc.

they work at being as self sustaining as possible with big gardens, chicken coops and the like. It was my pleasure to provide a few materials for their gardens a few years ago and was there when they were putting in the coops. If you’ve never seen a 50 year old, one armed, malnourished man work a sledge hammer to break up asphalt, it was an inspiring sight to say the least.

It was on their facebook post. I went last week and you have to sign paperwork saying such. I think it was about $20 for 50 rounds of .45 ACP. I rented a .22 and 50 founds for that was only $5.

    .10 a round for .22??? What is this, 2013?

  5. M69 Romanian training rifle. Older kid down the block bought 3 of them from a sporting goods store for $50 each I think. We divvied them up and they all ended up at my house over time since my parents were then only ones that let me have em.

I ultimately lost track of them at a friends house where they stayed for years until the original purchaser got ahold of two of them and gave me one, still have it today and was able to locate a magazine thanks to a tgoer.

It's my moms favorite rifle now so I never get to shoot it unless I'm at her house and pop a few calibre through it.

    I have a pre-model 10 I bought 10 years ago with a holster for $250

Very nice condition only a bit of holster wear and the usual ring around the cylinder.

Never got used to the original grips and was hoping to eventually get one of those vintage Tyler T adapters.

Ended up putting an ugly pachmyer grip on it. Feels good now but yech!👎

Have been warned no Plus P ammo but have read 38 special back in the 40s and 50s was equal to plus p today.

Never found out the truth but have mistakenly shot quite a bit of plus p out of it one day and it did no harm.

Perfect gun for the nightstand and an easy shooter for ladies with little recoil from the all metal frame and the simplicity of having no safety or slide to rack.

I did a bit of research when I had a few colt police models and from what I can recall SAAMI changed the pressure of the .38 in the late 60's or maybe 70's? Todays +P is closer to original spec but a bit higher maybe?

I pretty quickly abandoned the idea of shooting any +P out of them; couldn't come up with any good reason to do so when standard .38s are just as plentiful and cheap. If I were in a position to were I had to dedicate one of these old guns to defensive duty I would either just roll with the standard loads, or more realistically get a modern firearm. These oldies can still shoot, but I don't see the appeal in making them actually work for their supper anymore either.

Don't know if it's available in your area but we use Charter and have had great service.

Same here. Had numerous visits to my house from at&t including engineers to get my internet service hooked up. Long story short, after months without internet and almost a full work week lost making appointments spread out over same months, their engineer told me ALL of their techs were using an old hook up box and the good one was on the back and a guy would be out the follwowing day for the hook up. Next day comes and the tech calls me at work saying he can’t do his outside hook up (inside was DONE by the engineer) unless I️ come home from work. I️ told him to pack his stuff and leave.

Called charter a few days later and they were out the next day, let me pick a two hour window of time and their tech had me setup in less than an hour.

Theyre expensive, but I’ve never had to use an automated system and have always had an English speaker answer the line. The service is so far above at&t they also couldn’t tempt me with free service at this point.

If at all possible, I think everyone should try to make the Tulsa gun show sometime in their life (4200 tables). They're twice a year, April and November. They weren't this big when I lived around there but they were still huge!

    From their page:

Something to think about:   If all our tables (2800 8ft. and 1300 6ft.) were placed end to end they would stretch 5.7 miles!

If you spend the whole 18 hours we are open to the public and divide that by 4,200 tables, You will have 15.4 seconds to look at each table.

That I would like to see. There used to be terrific shows in of all places Ca when I was a kid at the LA fair grounds. 3-4 Airplane hangers full with vendors crowding in the walkways between buildings too. Tulsa sounds like what I still think of when I picture a gun show, until the reality of local one sits in again anyway lol.

  9. IT has been years since I stepped into a gun show, it had been a few years prior to that that I had been to one worth paying for. Between the parking fee, entree fee, unwashed neck beards, $6.00 cokes, 90+% new inventory and beef jerky, whats even the point? You may save $10.00 off the cost of your new gun (maybe) but thats after shelling out near $40 just to get in the door. Especially with all the good shops in TN and the TGO classifieds.
