Man...you're older than dirt...I thought I was gettin 'up there. Retired in '91 with 26.

I can relate...the missus and I did that for just over 5 years for her mother until it was just too much anymore. It sounds like you and your wife have about reached that point yourselves. At any rate I feel for you and unfortunately I can offer you no help. We finally put my MIL in an assisted living facility and visited every day. It's the best we could do.

Sweet....I've gotta get off my butt and make some kitchen knives someday.
-
Sorry my friend...too much of this going around lately.
-
My wife worked security in the military for 23 years and she owns no less than 6 of her own so.....
-
Damn what a pistola!!! Congratulations!

Yeah I do but I go to a country barber that probably doesn't charge near enough anyway. Besides...I've been going there for 22 years and I'm pretty sure he's never repeated one of his stories.

Sorry Doug....I know how you feel and I hope your sorrow is short lived.

http://www.newschannel5.com/news/pk-subbans-blueline-buddies-builds-bridges NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Predators hit the ice for their third home game of the season. In the crowd to watch were a few very special guests of defenseman P.K Subban. P.K. has been very generous when it comes to charity. He has previously made headlines for donating millions to Montreal's Children's Hospital. Now he has teamed up with the Metro Nashville Police Department and Nashville Inner City Ministry to make a difference in Smashville, one child and one officer at a time. Beginning this season, Subban's new Blueline Buddies program brings in a police officer and a member of Nashville's youth to enjoy a night in Smashville at every home game. "Bringing people together, building bridges. That's the responsibility of people that are in the public eye," Subban said. Read more.

I'm sorry Doug....I went through that myself a few years back and swore I'd never go through it again. Now I have two. God Bless and hang in there.

Good to hear he's doing well.

You should never have to give up part of a Right in order to "Secure" the rest of that right. That's just frickin' ludicrous. It's either all or nothing and we've already given up waaay to much already. NO MORE!! If they ban these stupid bump stocks they will go after binary triggers next. Then what? Will they ask us to give up semi auto rifles? Then semi auto handguns? So what part of "compromise" is everyone willing to settle for? Where does it end? It's a slippery slope to an outright ban on firearms. I'm amazed anyone is willing to bargain with the left, right or willing to have the NRA do it for you. I'm not close minded. I'm just not hearing anything new. It's the same old stale argument. Tell me something new, show me the magical combination of letters and punctuations that would have stopped this shooting. Not one bit of legislation currently on the books anywhere in the world would have prevented this. Many of you are old enough to remember Clinton's "Nose of the camel under the tent" reference to Brady. They are still trying to shovel the camel the rest of the way into the tent. They won't rest until that damn camel is ####ting in my lap. Enough is enough. So excuse me when someone starts talking about considering, compromise, reasonable steps and all the other crap I get a little irked. It's a song I've heard before and it's time to change the stinkin' band.

First of all I have no use for bump stocks. Never have and never will. That being said please don't parlay my rights. To be honest I've kinda had it with my rights being parlayed, compromised and negotiated. What these goobers don't understand is that there is no compromise. I've been watching the stupidity being bantered about and seeing some #### that is really starting to piss me off right now. And in my mind they really don't have the authority. I'm tired and fed up. It's past time to remind these idiots they work for us and answer to us....not their own personal agenda. And I for one say to these people "No, enough is enough". You don't get to make that decision for me. You don't get to do that so no....screw you...no. There are calls to repeal or abolish the Second Amendment. Go ahead, what you aren't getting is that piece of paper doesn't give me that right. It simply acknowledges that right does in fact exist. Go ahead...take the whole freakin' Constitution. No piece of paper ever granted a damn thing but quite a few take more and more away. The Constitution grants nothing and therefore can't deny either. What people don't seem to understand are my rights are above the Constitution which means they are above them as well. So to them I say screw you...no more. If you want my personal property than you come and get it. You....don't send some lackey to do your dirty work. You show me the depths of your convictions and I'll show you mine. To the guy that might end up at my door.... I only say "Don't be the lackey". You're answer should be No...screw you...not no but hell no.

I'm up to Episode 8 or 9. I can't believe I pulled two tours in that ####hole. The worst thing was coming back to the US and being treated like dog####. I vowed I'd never let that happen to the lads and was part of a meet, greet and thank group while spending several years in AZ for returning folks from the desert. God help me but I love every one of those young folks.

The third episode was tough.....that brought back a lot of memories. Our government was so stupid and everyone knew it but yet they persisted.

There are better ways to show or voice your grievances than alienating the fan base that pays your wages. You think they would be smarter than that but apparently not. Instead of pissing and moaning how about getting in to the inner cities and trying to make a difference. When the fans quit coming, stop buying apparel and TV revenues plummet we will see how much they make in the future. I know they won't be making it from me.

After watching the first episode it just reconfirmed my belief how ####ty we treat so called allies. We left Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese to rot after WWII. Instead of giving them what they needed we kissed the ring of the French and let them continue to rob the country of its resources and treat the Vietnamese like slaves. Shocking how Ho and his boys ended up hating us so much and taking the help of the Chinese and Russians instead. I never believed we had any business there in the first place and knew in my heart we would never win short of going nuclear. When my brother died on hill 881 I knew this was a pointless war. I served two tours there and I'm as hawkish as they come but after seeing first hand how people died taking hills and valleys and just turned around and gave it back over and over again. Over 56 thousand US Troops died and millions of Vietnamese as well for frickin' what? All these years later and my wonderful country that I served for 26 years still makes me so mad it's unbelievable sometimes. There is no sense of loyalty or doing what is right by people in the higher ups and civilian government. It's all crony politics, money, power and lies. Forgive me...I'm rambling but dammit I hated that war and every totally wrong thing we did there. Nothing much pisses me off anymore but this.....this....well still kinda does.
