Sorry there is no data showing this to be true. You may think that but that does not make it true. I have looked and I have asked this very same question here in the past. I can not find and no one can provide an example of an open carrying person to be the first target when things so south. For a criminal getting in a gun fight is the last thing they want. (Unless they are just there to kill everyone anyway) If a bad guy sees someone armed they are much more likely to go find a softer target than to just shoot at the guy with a gun to get him out of the way. That's why most all self defense classes teach to make yourself a hard target. Ever wonder why gun shops are hardly ever robbed? Most conceal carriers are not that concealed anyway. I spot them all the time printing or otherwise showing they are armed to anyone paying attention. There are plenty of good reasons to conceal carry but this is not one of them.

I have decided i want a Ar 10. The problem is I do not know much about them. Something that will reach out a 1000 yards. Does anyone have any suggestion on a upper? Barrel twist? length? Or anything else you would suggest or think I need to know?

No but I was using my AR pistol. Almost hate to admit it but its true. I had been after that bugger for a month. I think I was to excited that I thought I had him. No reason in the world to miss that shot. sigh. As a grown up I tend to be very hard to offend. I like your cousins story better. My ego is still bruised for missing that shot.

I missed a ground hog from 30 yards. It could have been many different things. Still do not know how i missed that little guy.

I have 2 of these firearms great guns a really nice trigger. A steal at that price.

It did not seem to be a problem for them then. What's to be afraid of? I see people open carrying and all I think is what are they carrying and do I need one.

The times I have Open carried I never experienced any problems at all. Not sure anyone even noticed.

I would be interested in the stories of cops getting shot during a robbery that the did not know was going on. I have seen a few guns stolen off the hip but not many. Most were very poorly attached.

What! Getting out on the road, driving through traffic, following the traffic laws? Nothing like 50 rds at 3,5 and 7 yards with no pressure, no laws to obey. Not sure there was any basic skills assessment for the guy that did ours. Be on paper pass the test that was it. There was nothing about grip, stance or trigger pull. My guy was not a legal expert. Matter of fact dealing with anything legal would have opened him up to a lawsuit. (my instructor told me i could shot the guy). Getting a DL was much more stressful and harder that the HG permit class.

I would not consider the handgun carry permit class training. Far from it from what I saw at the class. It may prove that you can pull a trigger but training it was not. I think two many people do think its training and that's all they need. I would have passed that "training" blind folded. We had a guy that before the class told me he shot a lot. He had a single action 45 that he had just bought. They stopped the class because he was not on paper from 5 yards out. He passed. 50 rounds from 3,5 and 7 yards is not training.

I would not have shot the guy if it had been me.

I agree about the white police not being involved, but cops should not be giving unlawful commands. I guess comply give up your rights and live another day.

I used to be a big fan of cops. Donated money when they called. Not any more. My experience with them was bad. I had a detective that was determined to ruin my life because I had and attorney and refused to talk to her without him there. Good thing for me my reputation was to much to over come for her. I have a real problem with them being allowed to lie to the very people they are supposed to work for. More and more vids are coming out about how they treat people, bully many and lie almost all the time. I think they are counting on people not knowing the laws or their rights and just assume what they say is true. I believe there needs to be reform in a way that holds people with that much power accountable. These guys getting fired and charged with murder is a good start but a long way to go.

I got the plate that slides in the rear site that a red dot site attaches to. By far the least expense way to go. Put it on my G 19 and works great.

Two cars pulling out onto a 4 lane road. One takes the right lane the other takes the left lane leaving me no where to go but brake hard.

I use a G20 with Underwood arms extreme penetrator for my hiking carry. I figure if it go through a bullet proof vest it should handle a bear hide.

In negotiating classes the is called "Referring to a higher power" Not unlike what the car sales man does when he says "let me run this deal by my sales manager". I get it all the time, I want to talk to my wife or sometimes its the accountant. Most of the time its a ploy to get more time. It is very telling when someone wants to blame others. In those times I want to respond by asking for your wife's number so I can negotiate with her.
