I'm spoiled on the Raptor. Being a lefty, it's soooo easy to handblade them. They're not cheap at 80-90 bucks but to me, worth every penny. Your results may vary. Mine are labeled as AXTS but there's no difference at all. Radian does offer a lightweight one now with polymer ears instead of the pretty aluminum on the more expensive model though! There's some Chinese knockoff's floating around for 20 bucks if you wanna see if you like the design before you sheer a roll pin or something after a few charges

If you wear a baseball cap frequently, it's tailor made just for you as it'll clip on the bill. The Dual Fuel is interesting because it'll take either one CR123 battery for the max out put, or run on 1 AA at around 120 lumen so it's even easier to find batteries for it. I keep a PD35 Tactical on my belt all the time. With a few rechargeable 18650's it's pretty damn handy, stupid bright and relatively tough. (the most torture I've done to it was throw it about 50 feet across the shop and let it bounce off concrete with the beam on. Not a flicker or fail). Also have a diffuser tip in my pocket for it, comes in really handy if you're stuck working on something and need to go hands free or just have light spilling out like a lantern instead of a focused beam. I've had some of their smaller LD models which have been excellent, I just keep losing them out of my pocket so I keep the PD on the cheesy nylon holster it came with and haven't lost it in the two years I've had it. The Streamlight Protacs are nice too and I might get one to run on an AR since they've got the WML version now. My G19 is a home for one of their TLR-1 HL's as well. Bedside I've got an old Surefire G2 that's been converted to LED. Olights are supposed to be pretty durable and have a large fanbase too. I guess the big thing is just deciding how big a light you want, what battery type and how much you wanna spend. I've had my share of the cheap 30 bucks and less CR123 powered lights and they're almost always lacking. I always rest my thumb on the safety personally. I like the extended. For a carry gun, the biggest grip is that it could get bumped off but if you have an actual holster that fits like it should, that's not the biggest problem in the world...

You might want some longer screws too if you don't already have some.

Definitely let her shoot before you buy.   The little guns can smack the hand harder than a lot of the big boys.   But yeah, totally echoing what everyone has said about the LCR's trigger. J frames can be slicked up nicely but they hit a ceiling for reliability at a point.

It's perfectly capable round on white tail at that range. from a 16-18" barrel, hell, maybe a little further.

I'd stick with the Smith. I like LCR's...but I'm in not hurry to shoot a .357 that light.

training is much more appropriate for a left handed shooter. I don't want to be put off when I pick up a different pistol and can't function well with it. the Springfield XD is also a good ambi gun as is the Glock. I much prefer using my index finger to drop mag and slingshotting the slide opposed to the slide release anyway. all my pistols that have a manual safety must be ambi safeties though.

I guess they're cheaper to shoot, but I dunno...for what it is though, I think I'd just keep it .223. My vote goes to the hipoint though. Especially when you factor in the price. There's always a mech tech conversion if you've got a glock frame laying around! Hell, you can probably buy a new glock frame from lonewolf and the Mech Tech unit for what a Storm costs anyway...

I can't argue this, I have a PM9 that I love. The CM isn't that much different. especially when you take 200 bucks off the price.

fullsize .38's are ridiculously gentle pistols to shoot. get some good wadcutters and tear out some quarter sized holes all day long with it!

Same blade I've carried for more than a year. Kershaw Blur with the drop point smooth edge sandvik blade. For me, it's hard to beat for the size, price, quality and speed of opening. I do want to add a nice fixed blade for edc. I've got an ESEE Izula but it's too damn hot right now to carry a necker for me.

Done in one. PPK's are nie and all, but good lord the DA pull is godawful. once I got past that and saw my hand and what the slide did I decided I'd admire them from a far. Good looking pistols that are typically reliable. Just not for me. Have her hold a Kahr CW9 as well. It's a fairly long trigger pull but so smooth you don't notice.

for the quality and peace of mind, I'd say the Rugers. There's an SP "kit gun" back out on the market too. It's not near as cheap as the Heritage stuff, but it's damn sure built better.

It goes by the Axis now as there was a legal issue with the name. There's a great market for budget hunting rifles right now though. The Ruger American looks very appealing too.

Kinda sucks, especially considering all the hype SA did for them and the unavailability. light strikes from a striker fired pistol...stronger spring or lighter striker right? Seems easy enough to fix...
