First time I had one was in a Saiga in 7.62 NATO Shooting surplus military ammo, wearing earmuffs heard a very faint tick, thank goodness it was a semi automatic because it didn’t cycle the bolt, ejected the round brass came out and look down the barrel sure enough bullet right at the start of the rifle it. Knocked it out with a rod went on to shooting. Second time was with a heritage 22 caliber shooting quiet loads. Shot once and noticed I didn’t hit the target, said to myself, damn you’re bad. Shot a second time didn’t hit the target, said to myself, you need more practice. Shot a third time at point blank, nothing came out of the barrel. Carried it into the house put it on the bench mounted it in a vice sure enough three rounds back to back in the barrel. Thank goodness they were quiet loads and did not jam very far. Only thing I can think of is the barrel gap to the cylinder and the fact they were weak loads and being quiet loads.

I do understand both sides, a person has the right to defend them selves. "Eighty percent of people who are considered legally blind have some vision." I, as most, carry a knife as well as a pistol. I have giving thought that I might use my knife instead of a pistol if the attacker does not have a gun or rod type weapon. I know in the heat of the moment things go from bad to worse in an instant. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/should-the-legally-blind-be-allowed-to-carry-guns-in-public/ Rep. Baudler says the idea of the legally blind carrying concealed weapons doesn't bother him, partly because, like everyone else who gets a permit, they are required to complete a firearms training course. They are not, however, required to do a "live-round" test to prove proficiency. According to Clayworth's article, Nebraska requires "proof of vision" - such as a drivers license or doctor's note - to obtain a concealed carry permit, while Missouri and Minnesota require live-round tests. Last year, Kopel presented written testimony to the Wash., D.C. City Council, which was revisiting its firearms laws. As part of his testimony, he addressed this issue, stating that, "Discrimination against individuals who have the misfortune to be actually or "legally" blind is a straightforward violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act."

I have kept a few in the past, had to give away eggs. Smell was not to bad, just do not ask my wife about it. Kept them pined, to many dogs, cats, and other things that liked chicken flesh. PIA in the winter, water freezing, drafts in the coop is bad for them. I used home made water heaters, cookie tin and light bulb, kept the water from freezing down to 10*F one winter. I had no place to brood or hatch chicks so after 5 to 6 years the hens stopped laying, time to go, feeding non laying birds was not in the books.
