Have a Savage b22 mag and it is acccurate. Plastic stock so I don't mind if it gets dirty or scratched. A nice step up from the power of 22lr.

Replaced the stock on the Tikka and put limbsaver pads on both. Tested both with several types of ammo. Tikka is slightly more accurate and much smoother to operate. Plan to keep the Tikka. Found some low recoil 125gr ammo which is easy on the shoulder.

Took both to the range. They are more accurate than I am. Recoil was strong with both. The Savage stock fits me better. Looks like I need a few more range trips to decide.

I got both. Will take to the range to see which one I like best. The other can be a Christmas gift to my son.

Looking for a bolt gun in 308. Local shop has like new Savage 11 and another shop has like new T3. Both guns are about ten years old, but look almost new. Prices are similar. Anyone have a Tikka? Not sure which to get.

No, I think long and hard before I buy another gun. I do miss the days when guns at yard sales were sometimes too good to pass up.

Some of the shows were huge. Bob Pope had a good show and some collector group in Memphis had the biggest and best show I had ever seen. I remember getting Lake City 7.62x51 case of 1,000 for $200 including tax.

Got one a few months ago. Standard type stock. Fun to shoot and accurate for a pistol caliber carbine. I put on a low power shotgun scope and at 50 yard shots are in about a two inch group. I have bad shoulders so this will be my new "big gun".

Memphis is one of the reasons the carry permit system was changed. It was in the papers about 25 or 30 years ago revealing the bribes taken to issue permits to people who did not qualify. If a huge flood flushed the city into the gulf it would be a good thing for Tennessee.

I was a scout leader for about 15 years. Our troop was very active in many outdoor sports including shooting. I was NRA certified for rifle, pistol and shotgun. We had several adults with different certifications so that we could stage troop level shooting weekends. I have been out for a few years, but I saw the newer boys and parents becoming less active in outdoor sports even before the covid. Scouts would be sort of lame if you are not going to shoot, ski, canoe or backpack in the wilderness.

I do not remember much from 25 years ago. I was glad when they changed the permitting rules and the class was fun.

As a kid used a single shot 410 with #5 shot. As a teenager used a pistol for squirrel. My shooting skills have gone down hill the past forty years.

We have a contract on our house and I keep finding boxes and ammo cans full of ammo in odd places. I don't remember buying all this ammo and I even found a pistol which I had forgotten about. I am sure it has nothing to do with my age. All the cool kids were born in the 50's right?

I think it was Nashville Motorcycle Repair that worked on my son's old bike. They did a good job. This was several years ago.

We will see more attempts by gun control groups and others to use school walkouts. Some school systems have stated that they allowed, but did not endorse this activity. I think we all know this is BS. Contact the members of your local school board and ask each of them why they allowed this political stunt to occur at school. Keep track of where they stand on this when it is time for school board elections.

If you know an exhibitor you can volunteer to help them set up and work the booth. This gets you in the door before the visitors and is an excuse to stay for the entire event.

Many years ago my wife and I were at our local credit union to get a car loan when a masked man with a gun came in. We were in a small side room with a big window to the lobby and I never considered confronting him unless he started shooting people. My wife realized what was happening  as he was running out the door, she said "Get your gun, stop him" so I said " Are you crazy, this a good example of  why I will never buy you a handgun" I never told her that I was wearing my gun. Family first, everyone else depends on the situation and very far down the list is everything else.

If you live near Fairview you should try Martin Murphy at 615-799-0349. I use him for everything but medical. We had Allstate for 30 years but the rates kept going up and we only had one claim in about 1988 so we just let him find the best rates for home and auto.

If you plan to have kids try Williamson County. Prices are almost reasonable in Spring Hill but not as low as Fairview. 840 has cut back on the time it takes to get to many places.

I have one on a 22lr pistol and a Ruger 1022 with 18in barrel. It does make the sound less for the shooter and it adds weight to the end of the barrel. With subsonic ammo it would make hunting more pleasant if you are not wearing ear protection.

If you help with youth shooting programs it a good idea to get certified. Several of our scout leaders have taken the Range Safety Officer class and I have instructor certification for pistol and rifle. I intend to get shotgun also when I can find a local class and fit into my schedule.

Entreprise is sometimes out of the things they show on website, you will not know until you try to order. You could go the ease route and buy a complete gun. The Franklin Gun shop had a nice DSA(early) fal with a 16 or 18" barrel last week for $1,100.
