  1. So, I planned to buy a Blue Label Gen 5 19 with my GSSF coupon. Messaged GT distributors and got this message back:

"We got word from Glock yesterday the Gen5 Glocks are not eligible got GSSF at this time. Once they are included we will do our best to get the information out there"

    Now that sucks

  2. I've had several Shield in 40 and 9. Tried to like them but they just weren't for me. So I saw this one and bought it, shot it, guess what, it's not for me. The grip gets too thin front and back and she bore axis is higher than I like, just like the others. Oh well, I tried. ( again)

  3. I have the 229 E2 in .40 cal. I found my IWB leather/kydex for my .45 XDM compact works great (what a surprise). I am having problems finding a leather OWB for this model as the standard 229 does not work on this model. I am tempered to try the XDM leather for it, but wants to find one specifically for this gun. Any suggestions?
  4. Was so excited to find a .40 shield in Clarksville! Shot it this week and it dropped the mag on the first shot!

Ok, so maybe I didn't secure the mag. Made sure it was " home" but had the same issue. So I have large hand, I must be hitting the release as the gun is on the small side and it is , after all,a .40. Repositioned thumb to be SURE I didn't hit the release and yes, it dropped again. Same issue with both mags. Not just every now and then, but they would drop more often than they stayed in! Of course had FTF and stove pipes due to the mag issue. Thought it could be worse with the mags fully loaded so put three rounds in each Mag and STILL the same problem! After all the " experiments" put it away and got out my trusty G23. It made me appreciate it more than ever.

Came home and called S&W. They said " yes, they've heard of this" and will send me a shipping label.

Of course I'm dissappointed. When it did fire, recoil was very acceptable and it appears to be accurate, The size is perfect for CCW and the "feel" is bigger than it is, and I appreciate that. Shoots bigger than it is.

Based on some other threads, this problem appears to be pretty common since July 1. From what I read, several owners have sent theirs back as much as 3 times. Hope they get mine right the first time!
