  1. Smoky Mountain Gun and Knife Show in Lenoir City 4/28 and 4/29.
  2. For me it was a Ruger LCP. I shot one box of ammo through it then sold it at the next gun show. Couldn't get used to that long DA trigger pull.
  3. Found the new code for restaurants and alcohol: 39-17-1305©, (A) If Authorized to carry a firearm under § 39-17-1351 and who is not consuming beer, wine or any alcoholic beverage, and is within the confines of a restaurant that is open to the public and serves alcoholic beverages, wine or beer can legally carry their concealed firearm while in such establishment.
  4. The new law has to be in the code, but I can't find it online anywhere. I've never read the actual code until today. Interesting that part 1351 also includes: The officer shall return the handgun to the permit holder before discharging the permit holder from the scene when the officer has determined that the permit holder is not a threat to the officer, to the permit holder, or other individual or individuals provided that the permit holder has not violated any provision of this section and provided the permit holder has not committed any other violation that results in the arrest of the permit holder.
  5. Well, the guy went to court and was ordered to pay me back, but he also got 18 months in prison with no chance of parole. So...........I'll probably never see the money, cause the POS will probably claim bankruptcy when he gets out of the cooler. Live and learn. As far as license fees, I love that TN doesn't have a state income tax, but boy, they sure stick it to ya for license fees. Both here in TN and in surrounding states with the reciprocal "fines".
  6. Thanks for all the replies. I picked up a sweet 1979 Wingmaster this past weekend at the Raleigh gun show. Took it out for sporting clays on Sunday....no:cheers: regrets!!!!!
  7. I'm staying in the Cary area for the next two months, any ideas of good dove hunting fields? I picked up a sweet older Wingmaster 870 this past weekend!
  8. I bought a Glock 36 off Gunbroker.com that ended up being stolen and I was asked by the ATF to surrender the weapon. Ends up that a sharpshooter from the Oklahoma City police department was taking department weapons, then selling them. As far as license fees, I called the license division of the NC Wildlife Resouces commission. They're answer for the reciprocal fees was: We will charge a TN resident the same amount that a NC resident would pay for a TN hunting license. Sounds more like a retaliatory fee than a reciprocal fee!!!
  9. What are reciprocal license fees? I'm a TN resident, but I'll be in NC at the start of dove season and part of deer season. A non-resident fee for big game hunting (deer) is $60, unless you are from TN/GA/SC/VA, then the charges are more. For TN, it's $100. What's the deal? Additionally, $60 for a basic hunting license and $15 for game lands.
  10. I've been a handgun and Glock guy for a while, now I'm getting into shotguns. Crazy isn't it?
  11. I took a hunter's safety course this weekend and had the opportunity to shoot a classic Remington 870. What a great firearm! Let me know what your choice is for a "go to" shotgun and what luck you've had with hunting. I currently don't have any shotguns; handguns and rifles are in my current stock, but I'd like to do some dove hunting and maybe skeet or sporting clays. What are your recommendations for a good 12 gauge?
  12. I would consider anything less than $300 a good deal, based on the condition. Of course, depending on the location, you may be able to get it down to the ~250 range. I recently got a mint condition Win 94E 30/30 for $200 at a pawn shop in Chatt. Best of Luck!!!!
  13. I'd like to see this as the best post on tngunowners!!!!!!
  14. Is there any benefit to the BUYER for a contract for a FTF transaction. I've thought about it and I don't see any benefit(s). Am I missing something?
