  1. A little spalted maple I'm making a coffee table with!
  2. Long time no post, been absent from the forum for quite awhile. A few years ago I changed jobs over to operating heavy equipment all day long, between that and starting a family I haven't spent much time online. Anyway I picked up my first gravity knife, a Paragon Warlock by Asheville steel in s30v with what they call a sorcerer grind. Insanely fun to open and close, and pretty sharp for a factory edge.
  3. Last firearm related purchase for me was a violin case lol And a random 24", 223 wylde chambered upper from PSA. It hasn't shown up yet so no pic as of now
  4. A little something for the guys from the tricities area
  5. Couldn't have put it into words any better myself. That's basically the same thought that came to my mind when I first opened mine lol
  6. Back story on the knife copied from SpyderCo's website: "In the 1990s Spyderco was approached by a specialized branch of U.S. law enforcement about making a knife for their undercover agents. These plain-clothes LEOs found themselves in situations where they often could not carry a firearm but carrying a knife was not a problem. Most had no formal training in self-defense tactics or MBC but as a last resort could use a blade to protect or extricate themselves from a life-threatening situation. This was how the Civilian model came to be. The Civilian has a patented reverse "S" blade that's intended to be used like an oversized claw. The tip is ground to an ultra-thin profile. Deeply curved and full at the belly, the VG-10 ground blade excels in slicing and is available fully SpyderEdged. Because of its distinctly specialized features it is not intended or designed for general utility or everyday use. Curved in all the right places for ergonomic use and retention of the knife, the handle is black G-10. A two position cliip supports discreet tip-up or tip down carry on the right side. One of the most specialized CLIPITS in the Spyderco line-up, the Civilian is available in limited quantities."
  7. I've been carrying this one for a while as a backup knife. She finally bit me today. Normally not a serrated blade kind of guy but I love this one!
  8. Thanks I don't know why I didn't buy one of these sooner. I debated for years and finally gave in, it's quickly becoming one of my favorites.
  9. This thread got me thinking, it's been way too long. So today after work I went to my mom's out in the country. Hadn't planned on going, so I just got my trunk gun out and ran a few hundred rounds thru it.
  10. With a name like Cartel, I'd be disappointed if he didn't have some of the nicest toys lol
  11. I like it pretty well. They've been doing better with the upkeep and range improvements. It's like everywhere else, some days it's crowded and sometimes there are idiots there. For the most part it's a good group of people though.
  12. You talking about Cherokee rod and gun club? If so I know a few members there including myself
  13. I bought from them a lot when they still offered local pick up. Guns, bullets, powder, primers, I would plan work in Johnson City on pick up days just so I'd make sure I could get there in time lol. Then they got bought out and cut guns and local pick up, and now powder and primers... It's sad to see
