On but slightly off topic there are collectors that call and identify themselves as being with the fire dept or police. They are not. Some are collecting for a police or fire related charity and by law or agreement can keep up to 2/3 of what they collect. Aside from the wonderful charities posted, if you want to make a difference u can always stop by a firehouse or even ask an officer for help on this. Sometimes there are people that need help that are not mainstream and are really struggling that they know about. Kind of like what dolomite posted but the person is familiar to the fireman or cops because of genuine knowledge of their tragedy or dilemma.. John Taffer from bar rescue needs to get into a public office and kick some ass up and some out. The elected douches need to embrace solutions not excuses. Running a bar is no different than running a government. When it's done right everyone is happy to a degree,with a profit at the end of the day. I actually used to care who was in office and what is said to reflect position.More time is spent whining, badgering, and finger pointing than performing the NEEDED task at hand. One can debate rights all day long but if someone is pacing the front of my work/ kids school/ public building that reasonably appears to be doing something that is out of the norm that reasonably presents the color of risk where cause of injury is inevitable,I want to see that person validated as safe or high risk. Co called Krebs makes some nice sig add ons this one is the best. Sig 556 series metal safety extension makes throwing the switch a lot easier.
