It's possible I just went through the same thing.. Usually if the sending unit goes out it pegs the gauge to 80. Additives will also loosen up gunk in the engine which in turn clog the screen on the oil pump intake. I just got almost 380 k miles out of my 5.3. The oil pressure would be ok when cold and would drop to almost zero if u didn't keep the RPMs up. After it warned up. Once it was running it would idle at 25 and sit at 45 on the highway. I flushed the engine out, changed oil twice and the pressure still wouldn't come up.. Not wanting to be stuck in the middle of no where w a blown engine, I Ended up swapping the engine out. Life is good. I have a guy in Robertson co that swaps Chevy engines out in a day or so. If u want his number pm me.

Starbucks is ok but small, shoneys by the airport has a back room an they stay open till midnight for the long winded and good chats. That back room can handle 50 people easy, for free....
