  1. First pistol was a Bersa .22 I talked my mom into at 14. It looked kind of like a PPK but had a longer barrel. It was very reiable but shot super high. I traded it toward a 44mag rifle. The 2nd handgun was a superblackhawk 44 mag and I have owned it since I was 15.
  2. For the tube I  use Shooters Choice or Butches Bore Shine

    AR 15 Trigger

I like the RR NM triggers and have them in 2 of my rifles.
  4. Back to the dealers getting into trouble for turning stripped lowers into rifles. Is the lower not considered the gun by the ATF?
  5. I bought a 20in bull barrel upper from them in DEC an got it in FEB. It is marked RGuns 1/8 .556 and looks good. It only holds 3moa with green tip but with FED GMM 69grain is holding a true 1/4 moa. With BH 77 grian 1/2 to 3/4 moa. the 69 and 77 poi is close but the 62 GT poi is 3 inches high.  Just strange that there is such a difference between ammo. My service rifle uppers are 1/8 and at 100 the poi is really close and 62GT will hold 1.5 moa. I question if the chamber is really 556. I think it might be 223. It was a good buy
  6. There is a small shop in Tullahoma "CHI Ro" that is taking orders for lowers that will have their logo on them 149.00. They will be in about June.
  7. I have the Harris notch leg swivel on my guns. I like the 9-13 size. I shot an Atlas on a .338 Barrett and do like it better but not sure it is better enough to justify the extra cost if on a budget. Whatever you get go with notched legs and swivel. Those are well worth the cash.
  8. Good deal. Shawn is a friend and he did get the shaft. I got to hang out with those guys a few times.
  9. I bought a Springfield Range Officer and love it. I also own a RIA Tactical and it is a great shooter. You do not have to spend a great deal of money for a quality 1911.

    22lr price

I just payed 9.00 for 150 rds of REM. This was from a store that does not gouge. It is costing him more and you have to get on a list for when it comes in.
  11. While I do think the President's children need protection I found it funny that after the NRA was blasted for bringing his kids into it he used children around him in the conference to pull on heartstrings.
  12. If a 20inch does not bother you. My Rock River NM A4 shoots like a dream. They even come with a good 4.5-4.75 two stage trigger. It is a .5-.75 MOA gun with BH 77gr. NM sights.   Before the run on ARs they could be found from 900-1200.
  13. I like mine. It does not always cycle with target loads when the side saddle is loaded. Never an issue if no rounds are in the saddle. Great gun.
  14. For what it is worth I was told by an ATF Agent last summer that the magic number is 25 per year in the Nashville office. That was last summer and I do not have it on paper. Current trends and policy could very well change the number. I would guess that they could make a pretty strong case if one were to buy several ARs from a dealer at a low price for some reason and within a short time sold them for a decent profit.   I do not have to worry as I almost never sell guns.   I do know that persons have been convicted for selling vehicles without a license in TN. This normally has something to do with leaving the titles open.
  15. I do to. Never liked IWB carry. When off duty I normally use a pancake holster with my G27.
  16. More than 50 would have to review the "I love me" book. I thought I could shoot pretty well my first couple of years in the army. I was amazed at the improvement to my skills after my first class at Mid South. I have been lucky enough to work in a field that my employers have pickup the tab for most of my training. I learn as much if not more instructing classes as I do by taking them. Sometimes an instructor always a student.....
  17. I guess I have one of the good ones. I have had a 17 kit for several years and it is 95% function with REM bulk from walmart. I have put over 10k through it and shoot it weekly. Normally at least 2x per week often more. Clean it every other box of ammo (aprox 1krds). It is accurate enough to hit the 2inch steel swingers I have 90% of the time from 15 yards and the MGM pepper popers from 40yrds 99%. The misses are me not the kit:)
  18. If it is a Yankee Hill gas block it can be put on backwards.
  19. I have not bought any of mine for investment. People have been after me to sell them 1 for the past 2 weeks. I have pointed them in the right direction to get 1 but am unwilling to sell one right now due to what it might cost me to replace. I would feel bad selling a friend a gun for 2 to 3 times what I have in it.  If I had bought/built them for investment I might feel different. I almost never sell guns but have been known to trade from time to time.   I get to attached to them. I could have sold my Colt SP1 during the last ban and used the money to by a new one and all the extras on dept letter head with money left over. I have had the Colt since I was a teenager it would have been like selling a friend. Just felt wrong.   If they put the things on the NFA list but do not stop the selling of new ones as long as you do the paperwork, the prices will drop again. Since they will not be as mainstream with the paperwork and tax, I expect that they will not drop to the level that we are used to but they will drop.   The whole thing just makes me sick......
  20. Military shooting teams are going to the AR10 for a long range service rifle. The AMU started this trend.  They are simple to make very accurate and need little tuning compared to an M1a. Have a good trigger on the gun, free float tube/rail, and if it is not accurate enough for you, change barrels.   I have a NM Armilite and a DPMS LR308 both shoot great. I have done pretty well shooting the Armilite in 1000yrd matches. It likes 185gr Bergers.   I like M1as and M1s but you have to tune them and keep them tuned to get best performance. AR10s are plug and play.   Disclaimer (I am talking accuracy at 800-1000yrds most people are happy if their rifles will hold 1 MOA at 100)
  21. Stag is good stuff as is Rock River. I too am left handed and have fired several thousand rounds per year for over 20 years. Hot brass bouncing off my scope then back to my face when shooting CMP/NRA matches in the prone and hot gas & powder residue when shooting with a suppressor are the only times that I have wished for a lefty AR. Just lucky I guess. I have got around the supressor thing by a piston conversion and left handed rifles are not legal for service class.
  22. I have taught classes where students have used SWFA Supersnipers with great results if you are going with fixed power I recomend a 10x due to the difficulty of finding your target with a more powerful scope. I have a Buriss tactical on on rifle and Leupold MK4s on the others.   Do not forget robust mount and rings. They are often the weak link in a setup. You do not have to get Badger the Brownells stuff will work.
  23. Glock, S&W M&P, XD, Sig, Beretta. I like the Glock because that is what I have carried for 14 years. The 9mm runs forever the 40 not as long.
