  1. +1  Jeff was a great instructor.  My class was held at Stones River Hunter Education Center.  We had men and women in the class.  One lady had never even held a gun before, and Jeff took the time to make sure she was comfortable before she went to the range.  He offered some suggestions to her about purchasing her first gun.  You can tell that Jeff enjoys what he does.  I would highly recommend this class to anyone.  My wife is planning to take the his class as well.
  2. That's the way to sell it.  Tell me there is BBQ close by. Haha
  3. Awesome.  Thanks TGO David!  I have been meaning to check out Everything Weapons.
  4. Anybody know any reasonably priced FFL dealers that are in the Nashville Metro area?  Maybe someone (member hopefully) or store that they have used before that was a decent price.     A buddy of mine and I went to Franklin Gun Shop today.  It had been a long time since I had been in there.  After looking at their prices, I can only assume that their FFL transfer fee is as high as their prices.   Any info would be great!  Thanks in advance!
  5. I was thinking of more sporter, maybe even slightly tactical.  Definitely not the wild looking ones.  Not my style.
  6. Electric B - Good to hear.  I can't wait to order all of my stuff and start assembling.
  7. I appreciate all of the input.  This really helps!
  8. I have been away for awhile due to life/family/etc.  I am building my own 10/22, so far I have the trigger.  I already know which barrel I am getting (FJ Feddersen out of Loudon, TN).  My question is... does anybody know a good person/company here in Tennessee that makes custom stocks.  I have a pretty good general idea of what I am wanting regarding the stock, but it would be great to have some input.  Thanks!
  9. Beautiful gun. gregintenn and lowbuster, I know the feeling about learning. I still see myself studying the history of things that interest me.
  10. Thanks everybody for the input (especially MonkeyLizard). I really appreciate it. I went through with the purchase and picked up brand new with the XD gear package. Got it for $450.
  11. What is a good price for a Springfield XDsc 40 caliber?
  12. Thanks for the info Ruger! I will save my money and skip it.
  13. I haven't been to it before, sorry to waste your precious time with the post.
  14. Anybody plan on going to the gun show at the William Co Ag Expo center this upcoming weekend Jan 4 and 5?
  15. Ownership of gunny's changed a few years ago. I knew the previous owners, and also know the new owners. I went in there yesterday with my dad around 1pm, and I agree that it has definitely scaled back on the merchandise. I was looking at one of the .380's for my wife and one of the associates that I do not know said I should look at a different caliber because the ammo is so hard to find. I explained that I had just picked up some from Dick's and he seemed surprise.
  16. I just picked up some of the .380 DRT. It was all they had available at Dick's or Academy sports, so I grabbed some for $15.99. I don't know much about it though.
  17. Hello all, I am originally from East TN but about a year moved to South Nashville near Brentwood.
