  1.   Definitely good scope for the money.
  2. You are correct sir. It is the Vortex Viper PST 4-16X50. It is the SFP version with illum reticle. Pretty sweet scope for the money. Glass is crystal clear!
  3. Honestly, never even shot it with the factory stock. Had a buddy's that I had shot before and it was pretty bad (sometimes 1 inch groups, sometimes 3). With 168gr Federal GMM it is doing consist 1/2 to 3/4 inch in the new stock. Biggest change was the recoil. Not that a 308 is that bad to begin with, but with the B&C, heck I think my AR kicks harder.
  4. I hear ya, had a touch that myself a year or so ago!
  5. Minus the scope and bipod, here is the breakdown:   Rifle: Remington 700 AAC-SD - $647 (got it from Buds. A lot of people say they have problems with them, but I never have) Stock: Bell & Carlson Tactical Medalist Style 2 in OD green Web - $267 Evolution Gun Works 20MOA rail - $39 Burris Xtreme 30mm rings $55 KRG Bolt Lift - $28   Total: $1036
  6.   Yeah, that factory stock was BS. You couldn't let air touch the gun without causing the forend to touch the barrel. Very jealous of the X-ray. I was looking at those when I got the bolt lift from KRG, but the wife would kill me if I spent that after I bought the scope that's sitting on top. Let me know how the loads work out for you. Interested in working something up.
  7.   If you're looking for a stock that won't break the bank that fits like a glove, that's the B&C Tactical Medalist style 2. $267 shipped from Stocky's
  8. LOL, I hear ya!! Not much of the original left
  9. So, my in - laws and wife this year got me a Remmy 700 AAC-SD in 308. The first pic is how it started life, the 2nd is the finished product. This is my new BABY!!!! How she started life - The finished product!!!!!!

    Handgun purchase

Handsup, As a fellow IL transplant to TN (although it's been 15 years now) I say welcome to the state! The bs of the "Chicago dictates all" is now gone my friend. So get yourself a valid TN DL and start realizing what you've been missing. If you are legally able to own a firearm, TN is like Christmas 365 days a year compared to Illi"noise"!!
  11. +1. Then you'd have a complete BCM and trust me, you would not be disappointed
  12. Quick update, had the day off today and got a chance to go look at the M&P 22 compact at my "window shopping" stop (otherwise known as Gander Mt, does anyone REALLY buy from them??). Compared it side by side to the M&P 22 (original) and it is much smaller and the grip angle felt a little different. However, felt great in my hand and probably gonna go for it if I can find a decent price at an LGS. If not, Impact Guns has them at $329 so may have to go that route. If anyone is out and about in the Middle Tn area this weekend and sees a good deal on one, let me know.
  13. Thanks for all the replies. Only problem with the Ruger MKs, I'm a lefty. I really like the feel of them and the 22/45s, but until they figure out how to put an ambi safety on them, I'm out. Granted for target it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but still if it's gonna have a safety, need it to be for us lefties too.
  14.   TargetSportsUSA has this stuff for $5.00 per 50, so you're looking at $50 for 500. Ammoman has definitely been overpriced recently. I'm really starting to like TargetSports. Get their email updates and have been able to snag some pretty good deals (325 Federal Automatch for $24.95!), but along with HiPower I really like SGAmmo too, they just never have any 22 in stock. I use them alot for 9mm, 45, and 5.56............If only Freedom Munitions had 22!! LOL
  15. I had that Kimber conversion that I had on my Colt for a while, but just really wanted a dedicated 22. Anyway, hopefully Lowpower is enjoying that conversion as we speak, but time to get a dedicated 22
  16. Been thinking about a plinker and was looking at the Ruger SR22. However, saw that S&W just released the M&P 22 compact. Fully built by S&W in USA (not in partnership with Walther like the M&P 22) and all the reviews are saying this thing chews up any ammo you throw at it. I love the ergos of the M&P line (just can't get a comfortable grip on an SR22) but wanted to see if anyone has had a chance to actually shoot one yet.

    Glock42

....and that is why my LCP got traded for a G42. The LCP was just not quite big enough for me to get my oof hands on and therefore was "snappy". With a grip extension the 42 is perfect in the hand, less recoil than any other 380 out there...and I can fit it in my pocket. Great gun when small is needed

    Kahr PM9

That lack of "goofy trigger" is exactly why I own glocks and not kahr. Just my personal preference but that pm9 trigger to me is one of the worst I've ever shot. Thought at first maybe it was just that particular gun, but then had the chance to shoot another and....same trigger. Hats off to those that shoot it well, but it ain't for me (so let's hope glock does release the single stack 9mm, for my sake LOL)

    Glock42

Erik88 - I'm with ya on the single stack 9mm, if they come out with it, my 42 is GONE!! However, for the time being it is by far the sweetest shooting 380 I've ever shot. And with a pierce grip extension the fit in my hand is perfect (and my hands ain't small)

    Glock42

LOL, why blame the gun when you can blame the wife!!!

    Glock42

I got mine about 1 1/2 months ago and must say have been thoroughly impressed. I've run PMC, Fioochi, WWB, Freemdom remans, Golden Sabers, Critical Defense and a couple of others without a single malfunction............until Saturday. Took my wife and mother-in-law to the range, both of them had failures to feed with the PMC but it was on the second round out of the mag (was loading 5 at a time) and I don't think they were slingshoting the slide on intial loading, kinda limp wristing the release if you get my point. Both times they had it happen, I ejected the mag, got the round to chamber properly and proceeded to finish off the rest of the mag with no problem. I then loaded up five more and proceeded to shoot it myself with no problems. We were using the same mag at all times so I'm going to attribute it to the shooter, not the gun for now. Only other thing I could think of is that I had shot it about 2 weeks earlier (about 100 rounds) and did not clean it before takng it out again, but again I could not get the failure to duplicate when I was shooting it that they were experiencing. We put about 300 rounds through it on Saturday and other than those two failures, nada! Still love the gun no complaints here!
  22. Wow, ya'll certainly left me a lot to consider!! Thanks to everyone for all the advice, will keep you updated on the future purchase (wife permitting!! LOL)
