  7. Wait, I thought we were supposed to fire them through the front door? Maybe he'll clarify that for us in the next AWB bill.
  8. Thanks guys, the "Signature of Official Taking Prints" threw me off, thought it had to be someone in law enforcement.
  9. I just filed a Form 1 for an SBR, paid the $200 extortion fee and received the confirmation email from the ATF eforms site. They require the fingerprint card to be submitted within 10 business days from the form submission. Here's my dilema, every police department and Sheriff's office I have reached out to states they are not doing fingerprints due to Corona-virus right now. Questions: Are there any alternatives to in-person CLEO fingerprinting with the Form 1's? I had a Form 4 submitted for a suppressor in 2019 which was approved/issued in summer of 2020. Would the fingerprints on file with the ATF for that work for this Form 1? I reached out to the ATF regarding this, but don't expect a quick response so figured I'd reach out to the group here. How have you all been doing this since law enforcement stopped processing the fingeprint cards? Any help is appreciated.
  10. Agree. I'm a lifetime member of NRA, but obtained that well before they started letting things slide. GOA and Firearms Policy Coalition get my money these days.
  11. Yeah, I'm going to keep giving it a go, but did just buy a San Tan Tactical barrel in case it doesn't work. https://www.santantactical.com/stt-ar15-barrel-223-10
  12. I am having a bear of a time getting the taper pins out of an A2 front post. I do not need the sight, and am replacing it for low profile adjustable gas block to properly gas a new suppressor. What I have done so far: Hand guard is off. Brake removed. Gas tube roll pin is out. Gas tube removed. Barrel Removed from upper. Measured taper pins on both sides to verify the correct side to slam (hitting the 0.12 side v 0.14 side) I started hammering away with the punches and the pins didn't budge. I noticed both sides of the taper pins were a little mushroomed, so I shaved down one to cut that tip off and went back to hammer. I have had absolutely zero movement or luck. I have broken two steel pins at this point and am giving up. I really would prefer not to have to buy the Brownell's A2 sight pin block for this as I'm just tossing the sight. I have watched numerous videos of people doing this, some make it look easy, some hard, but none impossible. Starting to think there is something wrong. Does anyone have any advice, tips or ways to get this thing off without damaging the barrel? Hammer the sight off, cut it with a small angle grinder/blade, etc.? If there is a gunsmith out there willing to do this for some $$, I would gladly ship it out with a pre-paid return box to get this done and turned around fast.
  13. Hi TGO crew, I have a question to pose. With OCR (optical character recognition) tech out there and the dark web where people buy and sell stolen goods, wouldn't it be awesome if there was a way for people to look up lost or stolen firearms using the serial number and have a system that could search images in those dark web sites for the serial number on uploaded images by the thives? Was thinking about this and wondered if it existed, and if it didn't - whether or not we'd want a way to run searches. Most of the time the police will take a report and check local pawn shops, and that's it...but what if you could do the search and give the info to law enforcement? Thoughts? 14. Got one of those. I'm more concerned with acts of God other than thieves. Figure insurance is cheaper than a 6-10k safe rated at 3 hours fire protection. I'll let you know what I find out. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  15. We use Encompass but I didn't see any rider options for firearms. I'll double check but their primary coverage is only for theft...so fire, tornado, etc. so they probably don't offer much. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  16. One is an original (lower at least) Colt 1911, government issued...the other a Remington 1903 with all original parts. Guessing when combined, a min of $1500, max $4,500. The notarized statement is a good idea. I'll bring that up, thanks. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  17. Yes, they use the ArmsCare Plus plan for this (which is the one I was interested in), and require proof of ownership, including the statement regarding a gift or inheritance. I may reach out to them and define what their statement must consist of, and whether or not I have enough information to prove that. Thanks Omega.
  18. I searched for this topic but came up with nothing, so if you know of another thread and can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Issue (I'll keep it as brief as possible): Estranged father-in-law passed last year. My wife was his only daughter (he was not married and had no other children.) He lived with his 92 year old mother and owned no real property (house/car/stocks) When he passed, we gave most of his belongings to Goodwill - mostly clothes, some furniture. There were a few firearms that may be worth anywhere from $2,000-$4,000. There was no will, trust, or instructions for his belongings, and due to no real property, there was no probate or debts to settle. My wife knows I'm a "firearm enthusiast", or as she affectionately calls it "a gun nut", so she said to take the firearms. In addition to these, I have a nice collection myself worth more than my homeowner's insurance and standard NRA benefit($2,500) would cover so I have been looking at additional options to cover the remaining value. Most companies I've looked at require specific information to prove ownership, including either a receipt, name and number where purchased or statement regarding a gift or inheritance. Question: Based on the info above, how would I go about proving ownership of these firearms for insurance purposes if a claim were to be filed? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  19. After watching the first Terminator movie I went out and bought a phased plasma rifle in 40 watt range. Couldn't help it. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  20. Well it arrived today. Laser definitely needed some adjusting, but all in all, it's a solid piece. Looking forward to taking the wife out with it. I'll let you know what I think after firing it. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  21. Thanks for all the responses. I'll let you know how the wife takes to it. If she hates it, I'll just grab an ankle holster and use it as a secondary EDC. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  22. Just ordered an MP Bodyguard revolver to help get the wife into shooting. Anyone here have experience with this wheel gun? I have a S&W model 15 that's treated me well, but the bodyguard is a shorter barrel and has some polymer in it.
