  1. That's unbelievable. Awsome birthday present by far! Although according to the article 7 million produced during the Korean War is a bit off methinks..
  2. <cough>Traitor<cough> I kid I kid! Hope you bring that thing up and let us have a go at it. EDIT: Damn you Acusport!
  3. Bushmaster Carbon-15 rifles are the Professional Ordnance rifle of today. Don't know if Bushmaster bought out PO or not, but the few .223's we've had through here have been decent. Did have two friends of mine purchase the 9mm carbon when it came out and both of them exploded... a word to the wise.
  4. Yeah they were. I think their crusade agianst the pirates of their music has more to do with them being greedy than anything - along the lines of why the went more mainstream instead of sticking to their roots. Maybe they were bitter after they saw their sales falling after the release of the lesser albums. Who knows. Still great music though, if you get the right albums - I do like some songs on their later stuff though, just not as much. I really cannot think of any particular song on their first several albums that I didnt care for, but many on the more recent stuff. Bluegrass/country/soul/whatever other types of music just dont do it well for me. I'm with PackinMama, if its fast and hard, more than likely I'll like it. ---- Packin, you ever listen to Dream Theater?
  5. Pretty much everything after And Justice for All went downhill pretty bad. I think they tried to get more "mainstream" for more money. Ahh well, my vote goes to Ride the Lightning as their best album.
  6. http://www.coldsteel.com/88wgs.html Is all thats needed to put the fear of God into someone. Oh, and a conan costume.
  7. I dunno if this is been posted yet, but I thought it was pretty funny. [ame] [/ame]
  8. For some reason I clicked on this thinking it would be some oldschool Metallica or Megadeth or SOMETHING. Disappointed.
  9. I had a 556 for awhile, I like it, but the weight got to me (I'm a little guy). So I sold it and built an AR to suit my needs instead. It was a great shooting rifle otherwise.
  10. Did you eat Mexican before you went shooting? Damn man.
  11. We charge a $25 transfer fee normally to random_customer_01, but since it means taking a potential customer away from FGS, I will do it for free, this once. We are about 25min from Nashville occording to how you drive. But lets be honest, it takes about 1 minute to log in a gun, and depending on the POS system you use, 2-5 minutes to put the gun in your system. $50 to do a transfer is outrageous. Hell, some people think 25 is outrageous. EDIT: I'm also drunk, so get it while the getting is good.
  12. Cant' we all just agree that Obama is the AntiChrist and be done with it? I mean, the world is going to end with the end of his term, anyway! I kid! I kid!
  13. My advice for what its worth is to take it down and re-assemble it, following the exact instructions in the manual. I've taken alot of 500's apart, and those can be a real pain to put back together correctly.
  14. TDR Have I told you yet that your avatar is awsome?
  15. We keep our higher end Berettas/Weatherbys/Brownings whatever on the rifle racks behind the counter. The customers have to ask to see them, but they are in plain view so they can see what we have there without asking first. That said, we've had relatively little in the way of higher end guns being scratch or dinged in some way - although there are several accidents that do stick out in my mind. Most of our dings/scratches unfortunately come from the employees not being careful when they put them back up on the rack. I cringe everytime I hear someone say from out front, "Well, there goes my paycheck!". Fortunately its pretty isolated.
  16. Counter Commando... I like that! I need to use that sometime today...
  17. True. But we cant unleash the full destructive power of Paul for just anyone, you know!
  18. Ahh, Frenchy vs Franchi is another favorite of mine.
  19. Oh, and don't get mad at me if I have to tell your unsupervised small children who are running around screaming and grabbing various longguns off the bottom racks to chill out.
  20. Other side of the counter? Please, don't call it "Smith & Western"
  21. Man, if I had a nickel for eery Bud's transfer I've done, I'd close up shop (for today). Bud's is ok, I usually dont mind matching or beating their price on most things, but some stuff they run specials on can't be touched on a normal basis - I remember not long ago they bought a ton of one specific pistol (cant remember which - wanting to say an M&P but why would an M&P be on closeout? ) and were able to sell it for about $60 under cost out the door. It's cool that they are able to do that, but its a little aggrivating to me, and I'm sure other dealers too, when customers expect the same deal out of you and get mad when you cant get anywhere close AND have to charge tax and tics on top of it. Bud's does have a retail location in Paris, KY as well - their online sales are a seperate business if I recall. When I went to the Hawaii trip with S&W last year I met one of the lady's from Bud's & her husband - super nice people. All in all though I've found that if you worry too much about what your competition is doing, your spending less time with your own customers and just generally become a bitter person~
  22. Can happen to anything - and can be a host of things causing it. Nine times out of ten though, its either RAM or software related in my experience.
  23. Computers/Online Gaming/and my dogs. Yeah, I'm a geek.
  24. Might I also suggest a lawyer - John M. L. Brown: http://www.johnbrownlawfirm.com/index.jsp He's first rate.
