  1. We've been to a few games this year. They've casually glance in my wife's bag and wished us a good day. You're good to carry.
  2. Damn, I wish my 9mm Shield had this grip texture. Regarding the trigger, I'd agree with the general sentiments already posted. I put an Apex trigger and kit in mine and you can't beat it.
  3. Here's one of my favorite drills I've started in the last year: Load one mag as full as you'd like. Load one round in a second mag. Insert the mag with one round and chamber that round (now you have one in the pipe and an empty mag in the gun). Put the full mag wherever you'd normally carry your spare. On the buzzer, draw and fire your single round, then reload with your full mag and fire a second round. If you do it like this, you'll finish with a round in the chamber and you can put the full mag back wherever you carry your spare, put the empty mag back in the gun, and repeat the drill without a lot of set-up between runs. You can fire both shots on one target, fire one to the chest and the second to the head, or fire on two targets. You can also incorporate movement and verbal commands if you'd like. Recently I've started using balloons as targets to wrap up the session (more set-up between runs, but more fun and visual results). Here's my last run from a recent range trip:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=od-fDuL-RjM
  4.   Completely agree, can't speak highly enough of Strategic Edge. We're in our 2nd year of membership and will be happily renewing this summer.
  5. For what it's worth, I bought a Century RAS47 as soon as they were released and love it. Now have it decked out in Magpul furniture, an Ultimak, and a red dot. It's been very, very accurate for me and 100% reliable.
  6.   It's just the stock trigger that comes in the Century Arms RAS47. I have a preorder in for the ALG Defense AKT-E. There were a few shots that I didn't come all the way out to the reset, so I'm really looking forward to ALG's enhanced trigger. Looks like the reset should be very short on that one.
  7. I spent the money on a Lantac Drakon and love it. I was shocked at how much of an effect it had on felt recoil.   Here's a quick video from my first range trip with it installed: https://goo.gl/photos/t5wZeSgc9cds3gLw5
  8. I'll echo everything Tncobra has posted, too. I think my experience coincided with shooting more and working on the fundamentals, but I shoot better (and much quicker) with my XS big dots than I do with 3-dot sights. Shooting at distance comes down to practice and fundamentals, too. I can consistently hit an 8-inch steel plate at 75 yards with big dots on both my Glock 19 and M&P Shield. Once you've practiced with them a few times, I think you'll find that they become very natural compared to traditional 3-dot sights.
  9. Magpul just posted on their FB page that they are aware of the failure to feed issue and are replacing the magazine body for everyone who has purchased a bad one. If you bought from Magpul, Brownells, or MidwayUSA, they're sending them out automatically. I experienced the same issue with mine, so it's great to see that they're being so proactive in correcting the misstep.
  10. I broke the punch off of my Leatherman MUT last week so I sent it in for repair. They received it yesterday, fixed it, and are sending it back to me TODAY. Unbelievable. For comparison, I sent my M&P Shield in for service and waited over a month to get it back. If you're deciding between a Leatherman and another brand and you value solid customer service, I can not recommend Leatherman strongly enough.
  11. I've done both of these myself, twice with the sights. If you have a solid bench with a vice, you can take care of everything yourself in less than an hour. Better than paying someone the same or more than you paid for the parts just to install everything.   Main equipment: 1. Bench with vice 2. 1/8" punch with masking tape 3. Hammer or mallet 4. Loctite for the new sights 5. An hour 6. Apex YouTube installation video(s) 7. A little patience   Everything with the Apex kit ended up being much easier to install than I expected. The only real issue with the sights is muscling up enough to get them off. As long as you get everything nice and tight in the vice, use some kind of pad/block between the vice and the slide, and take your time, you won't damage anything.
  12. +1 on the XS Big Dots. I put them on my Shield as soon as I got it and love them. Simple design and very easy to see.
  13. +1 for Crossbreed in horse hide for strong side carry. I'd also add the INCOG to your list of options, especially for the flexibility to carry in the appendix position.
  14. Original SOE for the casual one, Crossbreed for the dress one.
  15.   Being used to something doesn't make it better than everything else. Get the XS Big Dots and practice with them for a few weeks.
