  1. He got what he wanted, attention. Wether it was truly to draw that attention toward what he claimed or if he is simply a once was star on a rapid decline looking to grab some spotlight who knows.

Kinda strange how he went from a Super Bowl contender to someone who may not even make the team this year.

Best comment I've seen on the matter was "he should have taken the opportunity to stand, even if he makes the team he'll never get off the bench."

  2. You can not use any form of a lighted reticle scope including the red dot scopes from sunset to sunrise. So don't get caught hunting in those hours with one or you'll face fines and confiscation.

    Sorry, but you're wrong.
  3. I see alot of people using Federal Fusion for "meat" and whatever FMJ for plinking if they have to buy their own ammo.

I actually like how the fusion performs in meat, but I just couldn't get it to shoot accurately enough for me to rely on it.
  4. Something less aggressive.  I'm not an operator.  I don't wear gloves when I shoot.  I have cracks and cuts in my hands. The gen 4 texture SUCKS for me.  Its painful.  I don't have a problem holding on to gen 3s so something like that would be fine for me.

Got ya. Didn't know if maybe there was another brand you wanted them to model it after or something. I agree though. Gen 4's screw my hands up if I take an actual course with them and fire for an extended amount of time.
  5. If you need ammo to stock, look no farther than Wolf Gold. It's loaded to 5.56 specs, and it's accurate enough out of every AR I own. In my experience it is one of the cheapest brass case rounds so I load up on it and buy "match" rounds in smaller quantities for when I want to shoot small groups.

  6. Can you at least admit that if a guy was robbing a convenience store and notice that you were open carrying, you might stand a better chance of getting shot vs if you were concealing?

    Sure.
I don't even open carry, I just get tired of the moaning and gnashing of teeth over someone open carrying a firearm as if it automatically marks them for death.

  7. Proof or no proof, surely it is decent common sense that if an armed robbery is taking place and then the robber notices Joe Smith over here with a Glock with extended magazine hanging out of his britches, if anyone is getting shot it's going to be Extended Glock Man

Think a robber is going to stop and wonder/ask if he Joe is a police officer off duty or just a civilian exercising his right to carry?

You said it all when you said "proof or no proof". Which is the point, there is no proof to back up the statement. I don't care if it's true, I asked if they could prove it. Which of course I knew the answer, because there are no facts to support it.

My point of civilian vs. uniformed police officer is that it literally takes zero to no situational awareness by a bad guy to see a badge and uniform. They may not be as astute to see a handgun on a guy's waist. Entire outfit vs. one thing on a belt...no comparison. I don't really care where you stand on open carry. I simply wanted someone to prove that there was substance behind the "he'll get shot first" garbage that gets repeated every time the open carry discussion gets had, and of course there are no facts to it.
  8. As a Police Officer I was trained that walking into an armed robbery will get you or someone else shot. A friend of mine did just that on a hold-up alarm because he thought the perp was gone. He wasn’t; he took him hostage and shot him with his own gun.

Getting shot because you are carrying a gun isn’t an opinion it is fact. Here is my proof.

Dave, surely even you can see the difference in carrying as a plain clothes civilian and as a badged and uniformed officer
  9. You want proof that if an armed robber sees you with a gun he will deal with situation?

If you're going to present it as anything more than your opinion, yes. If that's your opinion, fine. Presenting facts and proving it is a different matter.

If you don't have any stats to back it up, it's an opinion, and that's ok.
  10. The recruiter's office.

Does the military teach you which rifles under $1,000 are best in the civilian market?

Guess I need to tell my buddy that was SF that he got screwed, he came out knowing little to nothing of how to put together an AR. How to maintenance one, sure. But actually disassemble, upgrade, and reassemble...no sir.

OP, If you're looking for actual info, you're in the right place. As far as budget friendly options I don't think you can go wrong with either the Ruger 5.56 or the S&W entry models.

  11. I've seen it posted a couple of places that the 17M and 19M are government contract only. MAC(Military Arms Channel on YouTube) got ahold of one from an Indianapolis State Police contact. Civilian sales will be called the Gen 5 and released at SHOT show 2017.

I was really hoping for a full mil spec picatinny rail and ambi mag release and front cocking serrations.

Right, that's what I meant. The "M" designations won't be available to us cake eating civilians, but that this could very well be what they rebrand as "gen 5". Agree on the front serrations. It's on my list of things to do for a couple of my current slides.
  12. Check out these from Mission First Tactical.  Really liking their stuff.  Have the minimalist stock, a set of the pop ups and their new mini light on a pistol.

They fold really tight to the rifle, you just pull back and they pop up.

Sorry, but I owned a set of these for about 2 days. They aren't even playing the same ball game that magpul is. My set had side to side wiggle when deployed, and were made out of very thin polymer. They were so bad I wouldn't even sell them, straight to the garbage they went.

Not my video, but similar opinions

  13. I'm a fan of Rob Ski. Even though most of what he reviews doesn't interest me, I end up watching just because of him. I think IO doubled down on bad press when they basically called him a liar with an agenda. I'd wager that he has more fans than they have good rifles in the wild lol.

No, it's not what you expect. :D

So it's raining at my place, and I'm in charge of the little one today, so I improvised myself some pew pew. Best 5 shot group at 20 yards, shot with my Crosman m4-177 pellet gun, while sitting on my back porch with my 90lb Lab in my lap and my other pup rubbing against me like a cat. Pretty sure we need to work on my Lab's breath control to tighten these groups up some

My wife got me this air rifle last year on my birthday as sort of a joke since I enjoy AR's so much. I like it, it's fun to feel like a kid again sometimes! Happy Saturday all!
