  1. It was OK. Not the best episode but wrapped it up well which is more than many series manage to do.   I still want to know what the deal at gray matter was but I guess that was never supposed to be meaningful or we were just meant to read between the lines.   I think it's great where we're getting to a place where   1)Shows have a definite arc and story to tell from point A to point Z. 2)They are actually allowed to get there without being cancelled.   We are also watching 4400 at the moment and it was disappointing to hear that it was cancelled after season 4. I almost stopped watching when I heard. I think DVD sales are starting to encourage the studios to bring things to a proper end.
  2. You'dathunk the doc would have gone with gasification. Wouldn't a de-lorean look great with a huge balloon on top?   Hmm, that gives me another idea for achieving 88mph
  3. Looks like the location is probably based on the cell tower or possibly nearby wifi access points, not GPS.
  4.   Had a good renter. He was top notch. Then he moved out and his wife went off the rails. That was a nightmare. And expensive. Like I say, it's a long game sometimes.
  5. I am currently and have good tennants at the moment. It's a long game though and can be costly and annoying for periods of time.   Trailers may be a good start. You are fishing more towards the bottom of the barrel but there's a lot of good people who just aren't making lots of money (and that's likely to grow). The agent who manages our trailer ran background and credit checks on our potential tennants.   Oh, in addition, rentals are likely to become more in demand once the last (and probably next) round of mortgage bailouts fail spectacularly. I also (and this is just my opinion) would consider not putting your whole savings into it. Make sure to diversify. If you are successful, reinvest into property but not all of it.   One more, whatever you do, don't be a long distance landlord. At least 50% of the issues that have been arisen, that has been a factor. It also means you usually can't do emergency work yourself if needed so that's $$$.
  6. What's at Walmart?
  7.   It's the dmv. Anything that doesn't involve sitting and scratching butt is a nuisance.
  8. Mine was in the mail when I got home Thursday. It's been less than two weeks I believe. I wasn't expecting that. I've had the "You can carry with this letter" letter about a week but haven't used it.
  9. I was waiting for a punchline or a bad pun.
  10. Nickel should be magnetic so maybe it is an alloy or something?
  11. Yes. This is pretty much why I was against Gitmo and junk like the Patriot act from the beginning. It all seems to start out pretty reasonably with dealing with "Those bad guys who are so obviously bad that they obviously need dealing with in the harshest and most direct way possible" but pretty soon you see that circle widening in your direction.   Meanwhile, genuine acts of terrorism are "work related incidents".
  12. It wasn't really that it was this or that case that was the issue. It's that generally I want to know I'm running pretty much the same thing trigger pull to trigger pull. At least through the same magazine. A minor thing, perhaps but the upshot was that I bought a different box of ammo so there you go.   I believe nickel is magnetic so it should be straightforward to seperate (?)
  13. I was in England when the truckers decided to blockade the refineries. The shelves were stripped in minutes. It only lasted a few days but...   This may be a bit less likely to cause issues but if you think it might, probably get some extra stuff in asap.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_protests_in_the_United_Kingdom   Edit: Oh wait, this is DC? LOL. Nevermind.
  14. It was in the paper recently of the local fire department doing some dive training at a (small) lake here and they turned up a dozen firearms. I'm considering putting a couple of magnets in my tackle box.
  15. Unfortunately the downstairs returns are in the floor and, well, I'm sure they don't make em like that anymore. Replacing filters involves a session with the scissors.   It probably is about time though.
  16. I'm holding out for space based solar power. I can't believe we're not running trials already.
  17. Notice the subtext (which we often see from leftists). It's not that people have thought about things and come to a decision about a position for, against, or whatever, it's that the message hasn't reached that person and you just need to "reach out" in the right way.   These politicians are surrounded by a lot of marketers who are a lot cleverer than them and they end up thinking along with them. It becomes a game, not reality and it's about style, not substance.   I remember when I saw Sundquist on TV and he was dribbling something along similar lines with regard to the state income tax. Being new to the state, it was the first time I'd ever seen him and I remember that the first impression I had before he even spoke was that he was slimy. When his lips started moving, that was confirmed and the words, "sack of ****" appended.
  18.   2-3 months? I'm more like years? When I opened the holder last time, I had to fight it off with a pointy stick.   It doesn't help much that the downstairs returns are decidedly non-standard.
  19. The only thing to watch with LEDs is not to buy the ones "for decorative use". The light they put out is useless for general lighting.   I do have an LED spot I'm evaluating right now. Seems to be OK but a little pricey up-front.
  20. They had reloaded stuff at the gun shop here in Cool Springs but the prices were not competitive with factory ammo (may have been set when there was no factory available but there was plenty on the shelves). When I opened the box to take a look, the casings were obviously from different sources (some brass, some silver colored) so I passed. If you're going to do it, it's probably worth doing a little sorting as you go.
  21. You might want to look into gasification. Run your vehicle on wood.   Make sure you have a source for the cooking oil before you get that route. Though I have to say, running a diesel is nice in its own right.
  22. The left have caught on to the fact that you don't even need the pretense of rationality to further their agenda anymore. The answer to *any* problem has become "more government" even, and perhaps, especially when that problem is "too much government". I can't say the right are any better.
  23. Whenever you break wind, it will remind you of her.
  24. I honestly think we're going to see some unrest when this Obamcare thing really starts kicking in. Too many people too close to the edge and this isn't just a nudge it's a colossal push. Probably mostly isolated incidents but I can imagine some more organised efforts. Stay safe, people.
  25. I'm not likely to be eligible to vote anyway :)
