1. I doubt anyone is going to shoot out a 243 barrel unless you live near a prairie  dog town. I love to shoot bolt guns but I doubt that I will shoot more than 50 rounds through any bolt gun in a year.
2. I picked up a SW 39-2 and it a no overtravel. I went ahead with the deal as I thought it would make it easier to shoot but I was wrong. It only works in slow fire. How can I increase the overtravel?
3. Finally found decent picture....this is not mine but it is exactly like mine. Someone buffed the one I got so I am going to hit it with the Flitz and chrome it
4. I know....at first I didn't think much of it but the more I handled it and studied it the more I like it. Carbon steel blade that is 3 oz heavier than a real Kbar and a solid steel pommel,,,,,this thing is like a lawnmower blade.
5. Best I can do tonight   http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/823/m0ma.jpg/
6. I'm working on pics....It will be in the morning before I can post pics unless I  can figure a way to read my Iphone from a chrome book
7. Picked up an almost like new Cattaraugus Comando WW2 fighting knife with an original scabbard. It is the model 225Q. Just curious if anyone knew some of the history of these knives. It is really thick and well made.
8. I use 6.0 231 with a 230 FMJ. I get 825 fps and really good accuracy.
9. BJ, that was just a loose screw on the trigger....It shot center for me!
10. I have to try a G29 SF before I can say that for me the G19 is the best. But I tried the G27 and G23 with the different barrels and Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrels......it came down to confidence. I trust my stock G19(or for those that prefer the 40sw the G23).
11. I just picked up a Cowboy Limited 45 Colt with a 24" octagonal barrel. But, it has no checkering. Really nice rifle, I have had the 357 and 45-70 but both were checkered stocks. Just curious if someone knew more about this rifle, it is stamped JM on the barrel.
12. I have a SW99 in 40SW. I agree that it is a much more ergonomic shape than a 19. What I like about it is that it can be carried SA like a Glock or decocked in a DA mode. The PPQ is Glock like isn't it? There is a 9mm Walther/SW99 in my future.
13. I have thought of taking a G19 and trimming the grip to take G26 mags. Barrel length isn't as hard to conceal as grip length. And if done right you could still use G19 and G17 mags with A&G grip fillers. Or you could do the same to a 23.
14. I am surprised no one said a G30. If my fingers were a little longer I would have kept one. I want to try a G29 gen 4 and I wish they made a single stack 10mm like the G36.....I would have to have one of those.
15. Logically, the G27/33 are the most versatile models as you can use all mags and barrel lengths in 40 or 357 Sig caliber. You can get conversion barrels also to make them equal G23/32 performance. But my opinion with the advance in ammunition, a G19 is currently the perfect Glock as you can get near 357 performance in a 4" 15 shot pistol that is very carryable.
16. I think I have owned nearly every model of Glock made(not in every Gen) except the GAPS and the 10 MM's. For versatility I would have to say the 27/33 but in practicality ,,,,,,The Model 19 in any generation.
17. If you can live with SA/DA then you should consider a 3rd Gen SW like a 6906, 4006. 5806 or like my main carry gun. 3913. I agree the CZ75(and clones) are great but the SW's are plentiful and are great, great guns.
18. You have to admit. John Moses Browning didn't miss perfection by much except sights! We can argue all day long about modern updates but who wouldn't stake their lives on a reliable 1911 with decent sights, positive ejection and total reliability???
19. http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=5&f=49&t=69570   I remember this Jeff cooper article from some years back. I traded into a Springfield Mil Spec sometimes back ..I have not bobbled the hammer yet but I intend to soon. I am always reminded of this article when I see suoer tricked out 1911's.
20. One thing to keep in mind is there are two different magazine patterns. I had several CZ 75B 16 round factory mags so I was surprised when I picked up an Armalite AR24 clone and the mags were a hair short and would not fit. Armalite, EAA, Tangfolio and most of the clone makers use the longer pattern. Also I was b y Academy sports the other day and I saw a CZ75 compact clone....I do not remember the name but it was under 400....I think 382. May be one of those in my future.
21. I wasn't going to use Stingers but that is why the guy sold it to me. He said it wouldn't feed stingers and he was right....about his stingers. I chrono'ed his at 1050 and then tried a lot that I have and they functioned. fine...they hit 1150 fps.  Regardless, I plan to use the heaviest bullet I can get and I will try to track down these Aguila 22's. I use 158 grain +P's in my air weight 38 as penetration is more important than expansion.
22. If memory serves the 6.5 Carcano was .268....kind of an oddball
23. I didn't think so...wouldn't want to burden you with it. ;)
24. I have had this for a while and I am not sure how desirable they are... it is a nickel model with a steel frame and I have both cylinders. I think it is a model w-106. They were produced between 71-73 best I can tell. Cool little revolver. It looks like a western single action but it does have a short stiff DA trigger also. It is a 9 shot revolver.
25. If glock would come out with a model with a 1911 grip angle and a thumb safety ...Imagine the possibilities!!! Maybe a full size single stack version that could actually use 1911 mags...
