  1. Dave, You can still enjoy the break-actions, just select light recoiling cartridges like something from the TCU family Bench shooting with a rifle wearing a bipod in 204 Ruger is absolutely a pleasure
  2. You are correct, Sir. With buttstock attached to receiver you must have at least 16" of barrel. You may have a permanently attached extension to be in compliance
  3. Super 14 barrels can be made legal for carbine use with the aid of a permanent extension
  4. Encore When you absolutely gotta stop the game
  5. The big rifle cartridges really deserve a longer barrel Plinking can be achieved comfortably with the use of Trail Boss
  6. I really dig the Gothic lines and shape wood accordingly
  7. I can only imagine That custom furniture makes this contender feel like an Encore but it helps detent some of the recoil.
  8. The contender has it's limitations My favorite .308 bore barrel is either the 30-30AI or the 308 Bellm (shown here) It's taken quite a few whitetails anywhere inside of 225 yards is a piece of cake! ... and it's only a 14" barrel with an added muzzle brake
  9. Ace is the place! Hardware store in a box marked gun screws They are 10-32. I usually get 1" and Just cut to length needed Jimmy
  10. options: https://www.amazon.com/Hornady-Neck-Size-Die-308/dp/B003HHNZUA http://www.midwayusa.com/product/116484/hornady-custom-grade-new-dimension-neck-sizer-die-30-caliber to partially full length resize the body of your brass will not cause detriment at next firing. I full length resize completely at each reloading. (30-30, 30-30AI, and 308 Bellm) good shootin' Jimmy
