  1. Touché O'shay. To be technical (and self deprecating) I said I looked educated
  2. I agree with this statement as well. I never OC simply because 1. I'm young and like it or not people don't want to see a young man with a gun and 2. I dress age appropriately and as much as people don't want to see a young man with a gun they really don't want to see a young man in jeans and a t-shirt with a gun. No average person on the street is going to realize that I'm carrying in a hand made leather holster or that I saved all my nickels and dimes and bought a nice stainless HK. I'd like to think I look educated at least but what will that matter when someone who's been raised their whole life to be afraid of guns sees me OC'ing.
  3. I'm not a glock hater in the fact that I realize that it is the right gun for some people. As far as I'm concerned I've never shot one and I don't feel that I need to. I have held them and I can't stand the way it feels in my hand, especially the 3rd gen where the finger grooves do not line up with where I want my fingers, or the ergonomics of how it naturally points for me. As far as my own polymer guns are concerned I own a XD and a USP and they work wonderfully for me, but I'm not going to be a XD snob or a HK snob and look down on glocks as inferior they are simply not the right gun for me.
  4. I'm going to come out of retirement so to speak and make this shoot. It's been a while but now that the school year has come to an end I'll have more time to shoot, for a while at least. Also AYE to Norris if I even have any bearing in the situation
  5. I just saw a 10 o'clock news piece about coal creek having a large increase in sales due to the election. Lots of people stocking up on AR's and hi-caps from what they were saying.
  6. I'm a huge fan of spicy foods. I have about 15-20 hot sauces on hand at any given time ranging from family friendly to un-f'ing-believable. It's hard for me to play favorites but I will tell you that I get almost all of my sauces from Pepper Palace in Gatlinburg (http://www.pepperpalace.com/). My wife's parents own a shop close by and I have to go there every time we visit. If you're ever in Gatlinburg and love spicy food you have to stop by because you can sample almost everything in the store. They even have some pure capsaicin extracts which are about 5 times hotter than pepper spray. Also if you're a fan of horseradish try their "Nasal Napalm".
  7. Earth tones on a Samsung 245BW and a GeForce GTX 260. I also see earth tones on my macbook.
  8. $3.19 in knoxville today. It was nice to fill up for under $50 for a change, its been a while since that happened.
  9. I voted 4-5 o'clock but its really more like 3:30-4:30, closer to the hip or slightly back it depends on the ratio of time spent sitting compared to standing for that day.
  10. I have a super picky P22 and it will always feed well using CCI Velocitor. The minimags work great too, I"ve had the best experiences with CCI ammo in general as far as .22lr goes.
  11. I should be able to make it out and make my triumphant return to the world of TGO and it's gatherings. Now to find some reasonably priced .223 locally...yeah right At least 9mm is still relatively cheap. Can someone post up an address to the police station? Every time I've went before I've followed someone there, and its been a few months so it isn't in the memory banks.
  12. I am both shocked and saddened by this news. Shannon was one of if not the first person to welcome me to the forums. I had the honor of meeting him once in person and I could tell from the moment I met him that he was an amazing person. His presence will surely be missed. My condolences to his family.
  13. Well here's an update for any of you who are curious or may even remember this old thing. Today she bought herself a Beretta Tomcat in .32, decided she liked it better than any of the .380's she had previously looked at. So in case case I guess the best .380 ended up being a .32
  14. Which is odd being that they're complementary and all.
  15. I always just pick "New Posts" so I really don't care lol
  16. She has read this thread plenty of times. If you look closely I never said I was gonna up and buy her one. she will be the one to pick it and she does not want a revolver, especially a lightweight titanium one...did you even read any of this thread. Also she isn't my wife...yet (which I also mentioned earlier in the thread).
  17. OK, so I thought you made up the fangface bit...then I went to the site. Now I'm just embarrassed for them.
  18. Well heres my shameless plug for the Springfield Armory XD-9. It's was my first gun and I wouldn't get rid of it for any reason. Not too big to carry, large mag capacity (16+1 in the chamber), not completely devoid of safety, very though and very reliable. I have never had a problem with failure to feed, or eject, or fire with any brand of ammo.
  19. I know you can load the bobcat/tomcat that way, but I don't think you can with the 84. I could be wrong I haven't found anything specifically saying either way.
  20. Noted. Thanks for the suggestion. Still inquiring on the Makarov front. Would need to get her to shoot one first for sure.
  21. I had a friend who when confronted by a bum asking for change replied by stating he had no change, then proceeded to write the guy a check for ten cents. Probably one of the most comical situations I've ever seen.
  22. I'll check out the Colt and Browning for sure, thanks for those suggestions. I'll inquire about the mak as well, but I doubt it will pan out. I'm also glad to hear positives about the bersa's, I'm weary of guns in their price range.
  23. I'm glad the women in you're lives are all easy to deal with. In my case though I know that if one particular 9mm was too much recoil then ALL 9mm handguns have too much recoil regardless if it really does or not. However since one .380 was good ALL .380's are good to go. Is it the right way to approach things? No. Am I gonna change her mind? No. This is why the thread is titled ".380 Pistol Recommendations", not "A cartridge close to .380 but not really a .380 Pistol Recommendations". I appreciate the input but its pretty much set on .380, and I think we can all agree that it is better than .22lr regardless.
  24. I should also mention that it should be more a full size pistol, no kel-tec's or pocket pistols.
