  1. I know what they look like. LOL! Muzzle brake - no muzzle brake, bolt action - semi-automatic, No charging handle - charging handle, M4 stock - Target/sniper stock. Ok, you got me on the angle of the forearm piece too!
  2. Kudos to you guys, but I would like to know how many Democrats showed up?
  3. Except for the hockey puck pistol grip and the mag, I don't get that.
  4. They are posted at http://savagearms.com/10bask.htm If they do eventually make them in .338 Lapua I'll be interested.
  5. Thanks guys. Since I haven't done long distance shooting for 16 years, I don't think I'm ready for matches yet. LOL! ORSA sounds appealing, and $120 year is what the ranges around here charge for an annual membership. The drive would be worth the challenge of the distance to the range.
  6. Thanks. I would have liked to have had even that little caveat when I was a policeman. We didn't have even that when I left the department in 1993. In class A counties, the police had jurisdiction throughout the county, but that was it, and there were only 2 class A counties in Missouri at the time. Hot pursuit of a felony suspect was the only time we could pursue out of the city limits.
  7. Is that wrong? Are you an LEO? If so, do you have police arrest authority outside of your jurisdiction?
  8. I keep right on walking when those damn things go off. I know I didn't steal anything, so I dare them to claim that I did.
  9. That's certainly better, thanks. Anything longer out there? 1,000 yards perhaps?
  10. Yes, but can he shoot them accurately?
  11. Where are the long range gun ranges in the middle Tennessee area? Stones River is only 100 yards.
  12. Click on the "New Thread" button, title it, type in what'cha wanna say, then post new thread. Pictures are best done via Photo Bucket. Copy the link below the picture in Photo Bucket, and paste it in the thread.
  13. Well, Specialty Arms doesn't have sling swivels. Anyone know where around La Vergne to get the dang things?
  14. I'm getting the scope mounted tonight, and afterwards I'll post pics. LOL! The mounts that I bought last night at Specialty Arms in La Vergne, (who was the vendor at the gun show that sold me the gun), aren't right, so I'm taking it there tonight after work to get it straight.
  15. Here's where I got that the wildlife officer was asking the questions: "So the park patrol pulled my wallet out, hands it to me,then I hand them my HCP,while the young rookie calls...." Of course, the writer will not win a Pulitzer for the story.
  16. Savage Model 12FVSS in .308. So the last time I was into guns, (16 years ago), I wouldn't own a Savage if it was given to me. The rifle I used on the PD was a custom built .308 on a Mauser 98 action because you had to pay through the nose to get a Model 700 action...if you could find one. I was looking at a Remington XCR Long-Range in .308 when I asked the vendor if I could talk to the most knowledgeable representative there, (there were about 10 of them), about the long guns. The guy said that bang-for-buck I was better off to get the above at $699 than the XCR LR at $1,249. The trigger pull is great with a clean/crisp 1.5 lbs pull. I haven't fired it yet, but I most likely will this weekend. So did I take it in the butt?
  17. I believe that if someone wants to be stupid; let them be stupid. If they can't "get" that I'm a sheepdog and they are sheep, well that's expected from the sheep. You just can't fix stupid.
  18. Exactly what I was looking for, thank you. I would have hated to react to someone that I thought was incredibly over-stepping their bounds and be wrong. You could see how that'd present a problem. I would not have played 20 questions with them once I demonstrated to them that I was breaking no laws.
  19. I thought the guy asked him for SSN among other things. The question is still valid. It'll keep me out of trouble.
  20. Umm, she doesn't look happy about posing with her new gun. Sup w/that?
  21. I left a police department in the suburbs of Kansas City, MO in 1993, and moved to Tennessee in 1998. At that time, your law enforcement authority only applied to the entity that you worked for, (town, city, county, etc): therefore you had no arrest authority outside of your jurisdiction. On the Kansas side of the border it was different. You had arrest authority anywhere in the state as long as you were a state certified LEO. The question is: how is it here? I ask because I see posts about LEO's that are clearly out of their area of responsibilities getting involved in areas that are not theirs. Example: The wildlife officer in a Hendersonville store calling the police about the member who was carrying open, and then getting involved in the Terry Stop by asking the member questions like his SSN. I'm asking for my own edification.
