  1.     And it would behoove those unlicensed carriers to inform the officer about the weapon. If they don't and he spots it, they will be looking down the business end of his gun. Traffic stops are very dangerous for a police officer and if they are on top of their game, they're always on the lookout for potential threats.    Personally the only interaction I've had with a TN Leo was at a DUI check point. I had my DL and HCP out and my window down as the THP Officer approached. We exchanged the usual howdy's and I handed the licenses to him. He asked where my gun was and I verbally gave him the location. He handed the licenses back with a have a nice day and waived me through.   As a retired LEO it's my experience things just go smoother if you inform the officer upfront that you are in possession of a gun.
  2.     I never leave my weapon at home. I feel naked without it. There have been many times I went to pay my bill at a store and had forgotten my wallet.  Go figure.      The Second Amendment is in place in case they ignore the others.
  3. I agree with the 12 year old comment. If he was curious about it all he needed to do was strike up a conversation with you and ask.  I wear a crossbreed myself and I've only been spotted one time  by a female hcp holder and I was wearing a western vest. She spotted the clips when I reached up to get something off a shelf. She was just curious and asked how I like the holster.        "Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous          by letting the Government take care of him; better take           a closer look at the American Indian." 4. I carry every day, everywhere it is legal. If I go to a business and it is posted,I take my money elsewhere. I carry at home as the stuff can hit the fan anytime, anywhere. Our children have left the nest, so at night it's within reach. I agree with Authenticman, the best place for the weapon is in the safe or within my immediate reach.                  That door you just kicked in was for your protection, not mine.
  5. My name is Russ.  I live outside Linden Near the TN River. Been here for about 18 years. I like to hunt and fish which this area is famous for. Also shoot for recreation. I carry a Glock 22. I drove a company car (police cruiser) for 22 years then went into insurance work. I'm now retired and enjoying the good life in the great state of Tennessee.
  6. I worked in Memphis for a couple of years. If you like hearing about murders and drug arrests every day it's the place to be. Bout like Detroit. I don't want my family any where near it.
