  1. Thanks! I hadn't even thought about one of those types of rifles. That would probably be more what I'm needing than a bolt gun anyway.
  2. I've been perusing some 300 blackout / 308 bolt guns. That will be the next venture.
  3. It sure is. I shoot at the FOP range in Loudon. There's a nice little creek that runs through the property. I see river otters on occasion swimming and playing in it. Only time I've ever seen them, outside of the zoo.
  4. After many many many months of waiting, the ATF finally approved my Form 4 and mailed it to the one and only Michael Dresner of Law Enforcement Sales. I purchased it from Silencer Shop on March 1st, ATF cashed the check on April 11th, then approved my Form 4 on November 21st. The form arrived to Michael in the mail on December 3rd. So far I'm really liking it. Once I do some more shooting and testing with it to confirm reliability, this suppressed 300 blackout will become my main home defense gun. The suppressor is quite at home on my 300 blackout SBR as well as my 10/22. I put up a quick video with it on my YouTube channel:
  5. Just called ATF to check on my Form 4 for a suppressor. Check cashed on 4/11, it was approved 11/21. Now to wait for the ATF to mail it out... Anyone know how long that usually takes?
  6. Definitely look at their knife laws online. Very convoluted. I believe nothing over 4" but I could be wrong though. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk
  7. I was in Destin all last week and carried a Glock 43 in a G Code holster most everywhere we went except for the times I was fully enjoying establishments such as Margaritaville and the like. Didn't have any issues at all. Only thing that really changed about my carry setup was having to leave my auto knife at home here in Tennessee.
  8. Yeah, I've thought about that route too and may still go that way. I've heard Jim Fuller speak highly of the ultimak rail. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk
  9. I've got the StormWerkz rail section to put on it. Works pretty much the same way as what you described. Then I'll have to figure out what optic to put on it. I've got the Vortex Sparc 2 on my 300 blackout SBR and like it pretty well.
  10. I submitted the form 1 on 3/1, approved 8/23. A big thanks to Michael Dresner of Law Enforcement Sales for doing my trust engraving and adding the folding stock. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk
  11. Awesome timing! Just got the approval email with the Form 1 on my M92 PAP to make it into an SBR. Pictures will follow within the next day or so. Submitted 3/1 Approved 8/23
  12. I thought their process was to review them in the order they were submitted. I've for a Form 1 on submitted on 3/1 as an efile. Still not approved yet... But when again, I know first hand how government agencies work. (And I use "work" in the loosest form possible)
  13. Last night when I got home I sprayed it down with Gun Scrubber and gave it a good cleaning, then lubed it up with some Ballistol. I put 50 rounds through it with no issues at all. The double action pull is absolutely atrocious, (BUT I'm not a DA/SA guy anyway. Give me a striker or 1911.) However, the single action pull is absolutely beautiful. Very short and super crisp, probably around 6 lbs. The reset is also very short. After taking it apart last night and looking at the internals, there are a few light machining marks here and there but overall the quality seems to be pretty good considering the country of origin... I'd never heard of the Helwan 920 until I got this. I can tell it's one of those surplus guns that was probably carried a good bit and shot very little. When I cleaned the barrel it shined up like new and had perfect rifling. From everything I've read, this 920 is a much better gun than the brigadier copy they made before this one. I'll try to get out to the range with it soon and do a video on my YouTube channel on it. When I do I'll post the link here. And now, the story on how I got it. To closely approximate the "steal" I got on this. I paid $0.00 for it. It was given to me by a good friend and co-worker. His brother in law gave it to him 10 years ago and it was put in a closet and forgotten about until this past weekend when he and his wife were cleaning that closet out. She was pulling some bags down and this 3 lb. chunk of Egyptian steel came crashing down on top of her head. My buddy said at that point he heard every expletive in the book and even a few new ones and was promptly told to get rid of it. Considering he's a revolver guy anyway and given the relatively low monetary value of the gun, he knew I love most any and all thing firearms he decided to just give it to me. (He's pretty well set money wise too...)
