As near as I can tell, these will be sold through regular FFLs and not CMP. So its just a copy of the issue 1911A1. Ok, lots of companies make a basic 1911 copy. What's the big deal? It even marked “United States Property M1911A1 U.S. Army”. That makes me wonder if some nefarious people will buy these, do some minor reworking and try to pass them off as originals. Frankly, I think its a lot of hoopla over nothing. I won't be buying one.

Years ago I heard rumors of receivers cracking on their M-14 clones. But I think they fixed that.

I use Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer. Readily available at most auto parts stores. Helpful tip: label your fuel cans with the date they were filled. Use to oldest first.

I've been a pick-up man for most of my life. I still have my 2003 F-150 Super cab, but its semi-retired due to poor gas mileage. I keep it around for when I need to haul stuff. My current EDD is a 2011 Ford Escape. Nice little SUV and it gets 20+ mpg.

On another forum I visit, in their "Pic of the Day" thread, some folks like posting pictures of very attractive ladies in various states of dress. No nudity mind you, but still quite sexy. Recently, they've come to discover that some of these pictures are AI generated. You have to look closely, but when you do you notice small discrepancies. A missing finger or maybe an eye brow doesn't look quite right. Little things that most people don't notice. But they do look very real. All this AI stuff makes me nervous. Its only a matter of time before its used for nefarious purposes. If it isn't already. And now they can make movies? Put something fake on the evening news to control the people. The propaganda possibilities are endless. Scary stuff.

Update: I ordered the gun on Monday. Here it is Friday and it hasn't been shipped yet. Just got off the phone with them. My order should be processed today. However, they don't ship on Fridays and Monday is President's Day. Should be shipped on Tuesday. I find this quite odd as every time I've bought from CMP in the past, the order was processed and the gun shipped the next day. Apparently CMP is short staffed and running behind. Just thought y'all might want to be aware of this.

Current gasoline is only good for maybe 4-6 months due to the government mandated Ethanol added to it. Its the Ethanol that breaks down quickly and ruins the gas. However, adding a good fuel stabilizer to stored gas can greatly improve its life. Treated gas will still be good after 2 years. I had one can that I sorta forgot about and it was still good after 3 years.

Get some shims and raise the front mount or get a mount made for that rifle.

Part of the problem is that you have a bunch of rich guys who have decided that nice classic guns are an "investment". The last few years have seen prices skyrocket on good older guns. This in turn has made the entire used gun market go up. What was a $500 gun just a year or so ago is suddenly selling for $800 or more.
