  1.   I may take you up on that.  I was able to get the flash hider in oriented almost right with a combination of sanding down the washer and some elbow grease and it should be good enough to take to the range tomorrow for punching paper and sighting in, but it would be nice to get it turned those last few degrees.  PM me your info and we'll see if we can set something up.   Thanks.
  2. I'm building an AR-15 and having trouble with timing the flash hider due to a lack of appropriate vise to hold the upper.  Is there anywhere in the area I can go to use a bench vise for five minutes or so?  I've already called around to all the gunsmiths in the area that I know of and they'd take a week to get to it, but I was hoping to take the rifle out sooner than that.   If I can't find anywhere with a bench vise I may just order some peel washers to replace the crush washer.   And before anyone asks, the upper was a Aero Precision M4E1, so I didn't have to time the barrel nut and was able to get by without a proper vise.   Thanks.   Edit: I'm more towards Cool Springs than Franklin, if that helps.
  3.   Yeah, but as things currently stand it's illegal to carry anywhere without a valid HCP, so that's just being redundant.
  4.   For what it's worth, the law does have a provision that says if you are unaware that a group is school-affiliated you have a chance to leave the area.  Basically, you have to be aware that you're in the "immediate vicinity" of a school group on an athletic or multi-purpose field before you can be charged.  If you refuse to leave after being informed of such then you are in violation and can be arrested and charged.   The entire school exception is still utter bullshit, but baby steps.
  5.   I'm just hoping that they eventually remove the force of law from no-gun signs.  That would be a huge step in the right direction.
  6.   What was the deal with that one?  Why was the first overturned?
  7. Does anyone read the law and see it to say that the only school related events which firearms are banned at are those that are sport related?   What if a school affiliated theatre troupe was giving a performance in Centennial park?  Would firearms be banned there?
  8. This is in all parks.  Local parks can no longer prohibit the carry of firearms by licensed persons.  Signs will remain posted until such time as they would normally be removed, but they have no force of law behind them anymore.
  9.   I have a hard time understanding how people can believe that simply stepping into a park or being around children suddenly makes someone a homicidal maniac.  Do they not realize that on any given day they're probably walking their kids past any number of people that are probably carrying?  I mean, I can understand the initial "What, they let people carry guns?" thought of someone first being exposed to lawful carry but I just can't grok how people can keep saying there will be blood in the streets and people shooting each other over parking spaces (or the best fishing spots) when every study says otherwise and no state has turned into a war zone when it became shall-issue.   I just wish they'd just come out and admit that guns scare them and they don't like the thought of people having them.  That's completely legitimate.  It's not a good reason for the rest of us to be denied our rights, but at least the antis can be honest about their motives.
  10. This takes effect immediately, right?  No start date we need to wait for?
  11.   Just checked the 943 I ordered this week and it has "USA" on the blade right under the logo.  Take that as you will.
  12. Cork and Cow in Franklin is not posted as far as I could see.  Right across the street from a free parking garage, so that's convenient as well.
  13. Aimpoint Pro.  A little pricey, but will run for years on one set of batteries (even if you never turn it off) and has no parallax with infinite eye relief.  I've had no problems with it at all.  Just make sure you buy from a trusted reseller; don't want to get a knock-off.
  14. SHTF Gear   http://www.shtfgear.com/   I chose this over AlienGear.  Will ship in 3-5 business days and I've never had a problem with it.
  15. http://agcustomgunleather.com/store/   Got a nice custom made belt (I like 7 holes at 3/4 inches instead of 5 holes at every inch) and it holds up well.
