  1. Neither side. It was a long person that was deranged. Far from being a "side".
  2. I kind of feel the same way. You also may not see the issue as you want to see it as you do. I think that most shooters are going to be the same way. Some saw the cast as somewhat bashing and some did not. No worries as we have been civil and can still hoist a pint if we should get the chance. We can just agree that we disagree.
  3. I do understand how some folks are still angry with the NRA, I do not follow them closely enough to come down on either side of the argument. However, claiming that today's hatred against them is due to the past is a little bit of a stretch. For some mebers yes, for those that are not members and have no idea of the corruption and shenanigans, NO. It is not due to the past hat millenials and anti gun groups today are spouting hate about the NRA. It is nothing more than trying to discredit a orginization they think is responsible for the lack of gun control. Nothing more or less. Giving them more creedit than is due is playing riht into their hands. I guess I am thinking along the lines of what Tiffany mentioned how as soon as someone hears it is NRA organized training they get defensive. now anyone that knows the history or is unhappy with the NRA for its compromises would already be predisposed and knowleedgable of that. So they would not have the same reaction a someone that is clueless about the NRA. It is more of the current media blitz effect than anything else that causes a new shooter or someone just interested in shooting to dislike or be aware of the NRA. I am pretty sure we cannot extend the compromises and shenangians of the NRA boards to today's dislike. That is directly related to the media blitz currently going on. And a great tool and technique by the Anti's I might add. Now, how do we counter it?
  4. I think a bigger part of the NRA hatred is driven by the mainstream media which again is showing their bias and agenda. The NRA certainly has some ownership but the never ending vitriol spewed by the obviously biased liberal press is the main reason we see the hate and discontent. They are doing a great job of distracting from the real problems by going after an oprginization that nothing to do with any of it. So apparently that distraction technique is working for sheep that are just not able to see psdat the rhetoric. The bigger disscussion if anyone is really meaning to help solve the issues is what next? Obviously neither sides solutions are working so where do we go next. A lot of folks love to portend they know the cause but as usual they bring no resolution. That is known as being part of the problem rather than part of the solution. So bring forth your solutions folks! Stop the cycle, break the agendas!
  5. Finger group I think his it pretty much dead center. I also got a heavy sense of NRA bashing. That aside some of the points are great. But s little on the virtue signalling side of debate. It comes across as almost creating yet another group that is offended by things that are really overblown. Oh well, it hurts nothing and does point out some items that need looking at occasionally. Problem is there are so many podcasts these days it is hard to really get through the noise to the truly good ones. And when we do find one we like we need to keep in mind that listening to others occasionally is a good idea. In this case it is not over the top and does have a underlying message most need to hear. If it just got to that message without some of the very same boxing and labeling it is pushing against. And I still agree that Uncle Ted needs to stay away from cameras and microphones. Very close to a great message, keep working it, most shooters might not like it in the beginning but I think most will come around.
  6. Yet the bigger problem is while they are increasingly blind to differences they are increasingly requesting special rights based on being different. Not the same rights mind you but special rights. I find that sad and exasperating but it is none the less reality.
  7. For some reason my response disappeared. That has happened quite a bit from my phone. I did say we in general as gun owners are labeling and boxing. Not you in particular. I found the podcast a little bit hard on the NRA bashing myself but do understand why. The NRA like any organization has had it's ups and downs. Not barking at all and I do apologise if it came across that way. It was an interesting topic. Hard topic to discuss and make most happy or even open to listen. My constructive criticism, let the guests talk more, after all we can always hear you. Lol
  8. Interesting ideas. Should they expect the same thing their parents and grand parents had? Why? Fair? So as it was mentioned in the podcast coming out with an attitude will get you nowhere. Interesting outlook. They are correct when they talk about the pandering. So do we pander to the millenials? Nope. Do we tell them to suck it up? Nope I think a big part of it is not so much that millenials want what boomers had. It is that they want it without working for it. That is why so many are behind Bernie. So the question is how do we get the message across to them when they do as Tiffany said and come out with attitude first and just shut down. As usual that seems to be the same, NRA should not have done this or that and how they have not really changed with the times. That is a valid point but maybe not all that popular. It was intereesting but to me a lot of the same old same old. I did like the stop labeling points! I agree that is a big part of the issues. Labeling. Not just racial, religion, sexual identity, political, or class but think of all of the other labels we box people into. Disabled, gun owners, gun haters, millenials, boomers, c-nex, stars, antifa, as well as a myriad of others. Funny you talk about not boxing it in and call it stupid even yet do some of the very same. I love the idea and think it is a great way to start getting people to think. There are a lot of us that are certified by the NRA and have been for a long time. It is easy for me to sit here and say I have held classes and training that was very inclusive. As most of the classes I did were in Minnesota we did get a lot of variety. One point we heard almost every time was folks takinig classes for no other reason than to get a permit. So we stuck to the NRA course but after the 2 day training we gave every single attendee the opportunity to join any club that was represented. We had a lot of takers on that offer. A lot of folks were introduced into shooting at those classes just so they could carry and are now recreational shooters. So being an inclusive training program is more than ignore the NRA logo as mentioned. This podcast comes across as more NRA bashing then being inclusive. Not that it is wrong in this modern time and after the attacks on the NRA lately maybe not a bad idea. So again, without the NRA piece what is the solution? You asked their advice to people that are disenfranchised with the NRA. And the answer, build a bridge and discuss the history of it's message. So here we are boxing and labeling again. Want to get further and advance gun rights and inclsiveness? Get away from the whole label idea and start fighting the battle with the same tools the advesary is. And I do agree Uncle Ted and Dana need to go away. Very bad optics there. As for reaching out to people I almost never include any discussion on the NRA or any other lobbying group. Which is indeed what the NRA has become and to Tiffany's point that there are 2 pieces, the training side and the political side.
  9. Not too many exits for that sign in Tullahoma!
  10. That happened a long time ago! This is just more of the same. FB stepped on its own toes with the data privacy issues. Now they are trying to win back some by virtue signalling this hype. More of the same is all it is.
  11. And inclusion and diversity is still not the problem. That is what most folks miss and the greatest issue facing the country. Educating people that different ideals does not have to be hateful and divisive is tough when there are a lot of youth posting that it is indeed the case. Millenials and others are wanting a utopia. They do not wish to compromise as they cannot fathom anyone not agreeing with them. Fix that and you fix a lot of things. Until then we can continue to reach out but it is the social media and their "SJW" types you really have to battle. Big thing is realizing it is just that, a battle. Sad and scary but a battle none the less.
  12. Gotta love a good shooter. Only safe Queens I have are family hand down. And even some of those get shot regularly. Nice looking guns Mr Wright.
  13. I was there today. Lots of tire kickers but I did not see a lot of buying. Son took his Savage 11 trophy in 243 and it only got a couple asked questions. My HK vp9 FDE slide model raised no real interest either. It was a nice show though. Aisles are a little narrow but the process were actually not too horrible.
  14. Hmmmm might be worth a look. I will PM you
  15. I may wander over Saturday. I have the HK I might drag along and I am thinking of letting go of my Savage fcp in 338 lapua. Can't shoot as well as I used to and the T-Rex population is down here so no real need for it anymore.
  16. Nobody in the White House has had the stones to deal with him or his dad. That crazy train goes way back. He has made and broken so many promises to do many presidents and administrations it is hard to believe they just kept on doing the same thing. Trump for all his failings is the first one to stand up and laugh and point and state, nope, no more. I guess crazy knows crazy.
  17. Don't give them the chance. I agree they should not so I choose not to use them. I do not go into the brick and mortar unless I have to.
  18. Those that demonstrate they can act responsibility need not be judged at all. Those that act stupidly should win stupidly prizes though.
  19. Why transfer him? He demonstrated he does not make good decisions. Fire him and hire someone willing to work. I think all of the federal agencies are over manned. I agree house cleaning is long overdue. Pensions are another problem. Stop them now. Pay the ones we are obligated, any new folks can have s 401k like everyone else.
  20. Stupid is as stupid does. And these are the people running investigations. Wow, it just instills such great confidence. Lol
  21. Florida is a great example of the east coast issues. It was taken over by all of the folks moving down from the Northeast. One of the worst things to hear is new people moving into a state saying "well we did it this way in... Wherever...". We like it here the way it is. I'd you want to change it we recommend you move somewhere else. Now, I cannot of course speak for everyone but I know a lot of folks are tired of the big city folks trying to tell everyone else how they should live. So move out of the left leaning states before the kids get indoctrinated. Just realize it is different here and we like it just the way it is, well, for the most part. There are some left leaning folks in the big cities with some ideas we are not happy about.
  22. I was born and raised in coffee country. Used to go up to Nashville a lot as kids and through high school. Joined the Marines, moved away for 25 years, got back and dang, what a difference. Question is what happened to make those changes. You cannot turn on any news on the morning without hearing about another shooting or killing. Parts of Knoxville and Memphis are almost write offs now. Antioch is not far behind. Glad I do not have to go into town much anymore. I like living in the sticks.
