  1. I definitely didn't allowed my daughter to wear a bikini or makeup at that age, but she had no shortage of friends who's parents clearly didn't have an issue with it. He could have taken her camping in an area where there was some sorta body of water for swimming. Who knows, but the things I was reading has me on the fence. I'm sure more details will come out eventually.

They will know soon enough if she was abused, then they will report the additional charges if she was. I do think you may be right about the rest of her family.

Thumbs up to the property owners who found them.

  2. Most of the time they have a problem that cost too much to fix for a window unit, then again it could be a simple fix like a capacitor not allowing the compressor to start, without someone looking at it it's almost impossible to tell. If you ever have an old R-22 unit that has a freon leak, several years old then you might as well toss it, find someone who recycles metal, they would love to have it. R-22 is like liquid gold now.

  3. I've been doing a little digging and reading what people who know the family are saying, and I'm not convinced this guy had some sinister motive behind taking his niece.

It appears as though he did break the law when taking her, but until proven otherwise, I'm thinking that he thought what he was doing was in the best interest of the child. Based on almost everything I've been able to find, much of the girl's family is plain white trash, which is why he had custody of her to begin with.

I'm not ready to cut his nuts off and feed 'em to him, just yet.

Buying the bikini and makeup is somewhat suspicious isn't it? That's not exactly what you would buy for an 8 year old girl. There's not any swimming pools around and sorry if i'm old fashion but lipstick and makeup are not for little kids.

  4. Looks like somebody has some money problems they are trying to fix. Thing is, there's someone out there who will pay big money for it, there's always a few. Just saw this on the news, you know the media will eat this up. Owned one Kel Tec many years ago when they first came out, the little .32acp. Please don't ask why, I sold it shortly after to a local LEO to put in an ankle holster for a backup. They seem fragile to me and they don't have a good reputation and I have no desire to own another of any model or caliber.

  5. I don't see the safe indicated on your floor plan.  That is a problem!

I feel the same way.  If you need to seek gratification by telling the world every time you get a little exercise, you probably need some help that facebook can't provide.

I have some good hide away places that no run of the mill thief would find, not fire protected though.

  6. Yeah, I'm jealous, the neighbor came over the other day, raising hell, because my son was shooting Coke cans with his pellet gun. The "bullets" we're hitting the side of his house according to him. He only shut up when I showed him my son was shooting in the opposite direction of his house. I asked him not to ever come back again....

If my neighbor did that and if I didn't live in the city limits I would tell him sorry, i'll tell my son not to fire his "bullet" air gun anymore. Then after he went back into his house I would bump fire a 30 round mag from my MAK 90 into a tree.  :)

NAA, I would just laugh at him and tell him to get a life but it's a fun thought anyway.

I got this thing about de-pressurizing old aerosol cans with my Crossman pump with the $10 Tasco scope. "WARNING" Do not shoot one of those "Foam A Fill" cans too close to the house, it makes your siding look like it has pimples.

  7.  You start hearing opinions from department heads you have to remember they are basically politicians. They spew almost the same thing.

    BINGO.

Ken Winter, the executive director of the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police.

Chiefs always claim they speak for all LEO's, and it's not likely a LEO will challenge the Chief if he/she wants to keep their job. Many Chiefs are just politicians and will follow the script the current Mayor writes for them. I always said Surpas had a string on his back so Bredesen and Dean could make his mouth move while they said what they wanted him to say.

Now, there's some exceptions like the Chief of Detroit.

  8. The Governor waited until literally the last minute (nearly 5 pm on the last day that he could) to veto this bill.  He has always been lukewarm on gun rights.  Today, he bowed to the wishes of some of his most vocal critics in the last election while ignoring those who supported him.  The NRA spent several hundred thousands of dollars to get him re-elected.

He also vetoed another bill that, among other things, would have allowed a person who recently moved to Georgia the ability to carry using their old state permit for 90 days after becoming a resident.  So now, if any of you with a TN HCP moves to Georgia, you might have to wait anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months (depending on the county) before you can legally carry outside your home, car, or office.

    He has betrayed us.

Sounds like a good time to petition a recall vote. Does Georgia have that option? Also write your state reps, tell them if they want your vote to start opposing the Governor on issues he wants, make him angry, embarrass him, it's politics so get down and dirty. We all know that works better than being civil.

BTW, spent a lot of time in Georgia, Benning and Stewart in the past, have an aunt and 2 cousins who reside in Georgia, Savannah.

  9. Savage made a few pump rifles, I had one in 30-30. It wasn't very accurate. A friends 7600 in 30-06 didn't shoot near as good as his bolt gun did. That's my only experiences with them.

That's what I was thinking that you can't get a tight bolt lock on a pump as you can a bolt action and could affect accuracy. Of course a shotgun is not as critical as a rifle. Heck I really don't know for sure, i'm no gunsmith. The pump action would be faster to manipulate and you wouldn't have to remove your hand off the grip.

  10. Do I REALLY need to show what my poor thumb has been through?

Nevermind, I will go ahead an show off my war wounds. And I am doing it while waiting on my surgery to start.

Ok, I told myself I would not do this but there are plenty here who haven't seen it. BTW, these are separate incidents. I have also smashed my thumb to oblivion but no pictures of it but I did figure out how to sleep with my hand up in the air like a 3rd grader trying to get the teacher's attention.

My thumb met a very sharp knife and required a trip to the ER.

You got me beat there by a long shot, i'm just glad I didn't need a stitch. I've had plenty of stitching in my lifetime, the worst in my face and nose but I would hate to have a stitch, well a novacain shot in the tip of a thumb or finger. Bought a pack of that sterile tape strips to pull it together, that's all it took for what I did so it would heal quicker.

Of course you are going to add a scar to your collection today, heal up soon, I bet you will feel better getting those hernia's fixed.

  11. Shooting at 100 yards now at 54 I have to aim at the center of the target using iron sights, even a 3" bullseye fades away at that distance. I have always worn strong prescription glasses and get an exam every year from the VA. Actually the VA does the most thorough eye exam I have ever had. My prescription hasn't changed for years but I can tell my eyes, as bad as they always were can't focus well anymore, or stay focused. I guess old farts need optics at a distance.

  12. The Remington 7600 makes a pretty good deer stand/brush gun.  I think they still make it in .30-06, .270, and .308.  A buddy had one in .243, so I know they had other offerings in the past.

Not sure why they don't get more love.  I would really like to run across a .308, but I have never seen one.

There has to be some reason more manufactures don't make them.

  13. Dang! That's a good one. I think some Motrin 800 and water will fix you right up.

Washed it good and put some neosporin on it, I was overdue for a stupid stunt anyway. Used to lecture newby's at work about cutting something towards their hands.

  14. I know Remington has one in 30-06, always wondered why they never caught on. Is it because of the lockup, not as strong as a bolt action? A pump/slide action is faster than a bolt and easier to keep a sight picture on target but my only experience of course is with shotguns.

It's just something I have been wondering, why aren't there more pump rifles besides the .22's? There's got to be a practical reason.

  15. They sold me one of those evil dangerous $1 razor knifes, they didn't warn me not to cut anything towards my hand or warn me that a "RAZOR" knife was sharp. They are grosely negligent, those evil things should be banned. Only the police should have razor knives.
