  1. I've taken mine there twice... No problems leaving it on the bench while you check your target downrange. They just want to see your paperwork as you check in. Funny though how they wanted me to read off the serial number on the rifle while they matched it with the stamp paperwork. I bet if I missed a number, (even jokingly) a bunch of sirens and lights would have started flashing as if we were having a meltdown at a nuclear reactor. First time I went, they didn't ask and didn't seem to worry or bother with the fact it is a SBR. Then a little while later some RSO guys are pointing and talking amongst themselves (I'm thinking oh great, here we go...) and decide to ask me if I have the paperwork. Kind of caused a scene. I just showed them the paperwork, then all was well.
  2. Glock 19 for me. I have several other 9mm guns I can carry. IMO - Simply can't be beat in size/weight to capacity ratio, simplicity of operation, combat accuracy, and ease of maintenance.
  3. Hey Tungsten, I admire your CQBR set-up. I was just reading over your list of what you have. I am looking at what kind of buffer to get and I see you have the H2. Has it been working reliably with cheap target ammo? I'm just wondering because I plan to get a BCM auto-BCG and I'm trying to figure out what buffer to run. Right now all I have is the Carbine-buffer and I'm sure it needs a heavier one, just not sure what.
  4. Mine arrived there on July 7. Pending on August 20. Arrived today 14 weeks and a wake-up later.
  5. LMT 10.5" Upper w/ A2 flash suppressor Bushmaster lower receiver w/ Magpul CTR Knights Armament Rail & Vertical grip Eotech 552 mounted on RRA Dominator2 BCM BCG Getting a sling soon.
  6. Got my Form 1 today! I was cleaning my truck in the driveway, and saw the mailman coming down the road and I'm thinking, "No sense in getting my hope up, I know it's not there..." I open the box 20 mins later and there it is. I was jubilant to say the least!! Well here's my CQBR - This is my current set-up which knowing me will change 7 different ways by Christmas...
  7. I called today. Mine went pending August 20th. The guy I spoke with was real nice and while he was entering my serial number for SBR, he asks me my name which I tell him...come to find out - my name was in the system backwards. So he transferred me to the voice mail of examiner handling my paperwork. I left a message with my serial #, and nature of call, explaining my name and how it should have been entered, along with my phone number. Well, I was worried then...we all know how voicemails tend to get nowhere. 2 hours later! The examiner calls me back!!! Wow, talking about customer service. He explained to me how it happens sometimes, and that he should be getting to mine soon, and that he just goes in and fixes it. Explains they are backed up, and so forth. Overall, a good experience dealing with them. I was relieved that he called me back, and 2 hrs later at that. So now, back to waiting
  8. I think the 9" LaRue looks good on the 10.5 barrel too. My friend finally agreed to sell the Eotech back to me..I think I shamed him into it, lol. I don't actually have possession of the Upper yet. I don't think you can have the lower readily available (as in under the same roof I guess) to complete the rifle w/out the NFA stamp in hand.
  9. I'm doing a similiar build as well. Actually I have 2 AR builds in progress. LMT 10.5" Upper on a Bushmaster lower I already had. Also using CTR stock. I sold my Eotech but I kept the RRA Dominator 2 mount for co-witnessing. If I can convince my friend to sell it back to me I intend to use my Eotech combined with the RRA Dominator 2 mount on this build. I will use KAC rail on my SBR I think. ATF has my paperwork and I'm just waiting. My other build is Sabre Defence w/ Mid-length gas system on a 14.5 1/7 twist barrel. Using Larue 9.0 FF rail on it. If I like the 9 enough I may get the 7.0 for the SBR.
  10. I can breathe a sigh of relief now. My HCP card is in hand, a week to the day they said they were sending it...AND on the day it was set to expire. If I didn't have to have it on me, I would probably frame it.
  11. I don't see how it can be hard to do either. Go to the TN Department of Health's website and you can look up licensure verification for health care providers. That's how you find out if you passed your state exams, until you get the hard copy of your license...when it shows "in process". Would be a lot easier than calling them on the phone.
  12. Just got off the phone with them and it is being sent out today!! That was 18 weeks, 2 days and a wake up for my renewal.
  13. I've been waiting since Feb. 5th on my renewal. Mine will be expiring on the 20th of this month. I am getting a temporary permit from them from what I've been told.
  14. Seems like renewals are getting the shaft here. I know at least one person that has applied and received first time permit within the time period I've been waiting on my renewal. I wonder if new permits have priority over renewals or something. I know they say I will get a temporary permit if mine expires during the wait, and that the copy I have from the DL station will also serve as permit...but I can't help but worry that I've been lost in the paperwork shuffle or something.
  15. Oh just wait til you hit the 13 week mark STILL waiting!!!!!!
  16. I have the P2000 .40 in V3 and also the Glock 19. These two are my primary CCW choices. I am keeping both. I want at least 1 .40 in my small collection of pistols and my HK is the one. It is the most accurate, smooth shooting .40 I have owned. I will not sell it or trade it. With that being said, if I were in your shoes and was wanting one of these two choices and was going to sell the other I would pick the Glock 19. It is everything the HK is, but lighter, with more rounds. I know capacity is no issue here but better to have those extra 3 rounds in the same size gun, and not ever need them, than to need them and not have. Especially with today's "pack-mentality" among the bad guys. The Glock is more user friendly as far as being able to replace springs, and other parts. I have learned to detail strip mine and have done so several times, and I can't do that with the HK. Believe me if I can detail strip one it's not that hard to do! I can't do anything to fix the HK on my own if something breaks. Like you said too...the same trigger pull every single time with that sweet Glock reset is perfect. Glock mags are cheaper and they are everywhere.
  17. Checked on my renewal today. It's been 10 weeks and 1 day now. She said everything was fine, it's in process and that they are really behind since they are doing thorough checks on renewals now. Good news is...since I did mine in person, they are allowing the copy of renewal app. to be used as a temporary permit until I get the hard copy in the mail. I'm glad I started mine at the max allowable time of 6 months!
