    Kimber or SA?

Of all the 1911's I have owned (Wilson Combat CQB, Kimber TLE/RLII, Springfield Loaded, Colt Delta Elite, and Colt Officers Model) and knowing your 2 choices, I would have to suggest the Kimber. I did not like the Springfield model I had and the trigger sucked compared to my Kimber (both were stock). The only 2 I kept were the Wilson Combat and the Kimber. I did handle the demo model of the Hero Gear 1911 and it is a good piece.
  3. I bought my wife a 5.11 push pack. She carries her gun and other crap in there. Chec it out they are only about $50 and you can get the red one so it doesn't look tactical.
  4. I'm going pheasant hunting in Iowa Nov.5th. Will post report when I get back.
  5. Para LDA
  6. I can't believe no one has mentioned the UZI. Might be a little more than $500, maybe not if you ge the wood stocked one.
  7. Check out warrior talk, those guys know thier stuff about ak's.
  8. I worked there as a course guide during a summer when I was in college. That place is top shelf. They had (2) nice sporting clays courses, skeet, trap, 5-stand, make a brake, and my favorite the duck flush. In the duck flush 2 shooters take a box of shells each and they throw like 75 birds rapid fire. It is a good time.
  9. Look at a Beretta 390 in 12GA. Wal-Mart used to have a pretty decent price on the synthetic stocked version (Around 5-600 bux if I remember correctly).
  10. I am a fan of Wilson Combat products. That being said, I think you summed it up pretty well when you said "2k would feed my Glock 17 for a long time." I would not buy it, if you have to have a 1911 style 9mm why not a Para?
  11. I have tried both and prefer the EOTech. It suited my needs better and I like the reticle better.
  12. You might try Owl Hollow. It is just outside of Spring Hill off of Duplex Rd.
  13. You should be alright to eat it. I would try the ice trick.
  14. S&W .41 magnum with a 4" barrel, open sights. 0-50 yard deer killing machine.
  15. I've got a SAR-1 AK. It does everything it is supposed to. You might check on warrior talk, as they just put out an article on the mini-14. I think the mini-14 is a fine weapon and personally would not trade it for an ak.

    1911s

I think if I were you I would get a Kimber. Good middle of the road place to start. If you really like the platform, you won't be dissappointed and need to trade up. Just be sure to give it a 250-300 round break in. I also recommend wilson combat mags, I use nothing else. It is a sickness though.......
  17. I would skip the .380 and get her a small 9mm. Kahr PM9 Glock 26 something like that. Take her to a gun show and let her try a bunch.
  18. They make an ACOG for .308. I think it is the TA-33. That is what I would put on it.

    New Dpms

They use their own or C products mags. M14 mags wont work on the DPMS, I thin they will on the Armalite. I have almost the same rifle (LR308B) in 24" barrel. Have a Leupold MK4 4.5-14x50 mill dot on it. If you arent going to use it as a precision rifle, I would put the ACOG they make for .308 on it. I think it is the TA-33?
  20. If you just had to have a semi-auto I would recommend a Benelli M1 Super 90 tactical. It's going to be expensive but worth it. I would also look at the Beretta Auto (tactical). That being said I personally would not use a semi-auto and would get a remington 870.
  21. I went through this with my wife. We first got her a Sig P239 in 40 with the Hogue grips. After shooting it several times, she decided she wanted a carry pistol (she thought sig was too heavy). She shot a Glock 26 and settled on it. I put a pierce +1 on the mag and she is good to go with it. I would also look at a glock 19 or 23.
  22. Go check Summit Gun Broker. These are all in 40 caliber. Sig 229 CPO $545 Sig 226 CPO $545 Sig 250 $495 Beretta 96 $335 Glock 22 $330 Glock 23 $375 Glock 27 $415 Springfield XD $445 Most are police trade ins. If you can swing it, I would recommend the Sig P229 or the Glock 23. I have both and they are great guns. Hope this helps.
  23. You can't go wrong with the Leupold. I have a MK4 4.5x14-50 on my AR-10. My brother has a MK4 6.5x20-50 on his remmy 700. If I had it to do over again I would go with the 6.5.
  24. Those 2 are beauitful. What kind of grips are on the second one?
  25. Ruger Mini 14 in .223 Ruger Mini 30 in 7.62x39 Good, well built, common ammo...... I would personally save up about 800 and get an AR-15 though.
