  1. I got my wife one about a year ago. And have over 1000 rounds through it and have not had any problems. I really like the size of it and it is so easy to carry wearing anything. If I was doing it again I would get a 43 instead of 42. Nothing to do with the 42 just the fact 9mm ammo is about half of the cost of 380.
  2. I believe so would have to pull them back off to double check. It does have coil hammer spring. With no model stamp and no letter in serial it's made it more difficult for me to find info. Thanks for the help.
  3. I will add when I first started thinking about getting rid of it I didn't have any clue what it might be. I have had more reservations about getting rid of it if it does happen to be a 1953 model.
  4. I have some other guns I got from him that are heirloom guns. I have more safe queens then real shooters already. The only thing stamped there is 20092. No other numbers. The 4 digit serial number is stamped on bottom of barrel, cylinder, bottom of grip and the backside of the grip.
  5. A couple years ago I got a S&W 22lr revolver from my granddaddy and was my first pistol. I shot it a few times but it just sits in the case cleaned and oiled now. I since have gotten my ccp and have a few Glock pistols. The revolver thing is not my cup of tea. I am thinking of adding a new baby Glock to my carry guns. I started looking into this pistol to find out information about it thinking I might go trade it in and wanted to get some ideal what it was worth before going to gun shop. The best I can come up with is it appears to be a S&W model of 1953 .22/.32 kit pistol. By the serial number which is 10xx it appears to me it was in the first 1000 made and should date it to 1953 production year. It has all matching numbers including the grips. There is no model number stamped so that appears to be a pre 1957 model. If there are any S&W collectors that could help me figure out what I have a possible value I would greatly appreciate any input. This gun has been shot but appears to me still in good condition. A little blueing is worn off end of barrel from holster.
  6. Talking about the government and spending many people have missed out on understanding the privatization of so many things in our state. For example it would probably be 1,000 or less for the equip and and nice salary for some one to print them for everyone in the state. But some company paid the politicians to not do that and pay a company so much per license to print them. The politicians get the money from the company and he company makes big profit off the investment. The end result is it cost us more money out of our pocket and puts more money in a private company and elected officials. While I agree government is not the answer for everything the first thing I wish more people would get on board of getting rid of both establishment and start fixing issues. But that will never happen. Neither side of the isle is without fault but greed is the real root of the evil.
  7. A few months ago when I was looking I tried several and went with gen 4 19. I could not be more happy. Over 1000 rounds through it now and not the first issue from a single round. About to buy my wife a 19 also so I don't have to change out back straps for her on mine. While both are nice guns the gen 4 19 with large beaver tail back strap fits my huge hand perfect. And not sure about conversion kit for the S&W but I love to slide on the advantage arms 22lr slide and shoot a bunch of cheap 22lr.
  8. I just called and was told mine was printed on the 18th and should be in the mail. So hopefully it will not be much longer.
  9. Yes 2 weeks ago mine and my wife's. Both approved and issued. Please wait 10 days to receive them. We both did ours online. Class on a Sunday, dmv Tuesday morning, and finger prints that afternoon. Wednesday night approved. That part of it was very quick. I actually thought all that would take the longest not just waiting on them in the mail.
  10. I am waiting on mine also. Hate to see it being so far behind.
