  1. The 6:00 news said that server went down today because of an over-load.
  2. Would that barrel be a drop-in replacement for a Ruger? I see Ruger says the barrel and gas block is factory-fitted parts.
  3. That's a good point, TNWNGR, I've heard of people running a small fridge occasionally on a battery bank. I don't think it's feasible to run a big motor or compressor on a battery bank, like a freezer or A/C. Keep in mind; using a 12v supply, you can use the amps until the battery gets pretty low. A 110v motor is going to run hot and smoke if it doesn't get all the power it wants. Never run an extension cord too small or too long when you power a motor. Most inverters will shut-down around 11 or 10 volts, so you can only get about 3-4 useful volts from the bank using an inverter.
  4. If you're going to use a small, inexpensive battery like that, maybe you should get one for each panel. Or one for two panels that are close together. The big deal is to keep the wires as short as possible. That small battery is still big enough to start a fire in a second. Plugging a battery in a house circuit would be as scary as letting a baby play with a loaded gun. I hope I get some seconds on that.
  5. I'm not and electrician, but I'm familiar with Ohms law. A/C and D/c is apples and oranges. I wouldn't try to use the same wiring. Low current D/C looses amps too fast while traveling on a wire, that causes heat. I've got a 400w emergency solar system. I run a TV and computer on it all the time. I think the battery bank alone, is going to cost more than I'll profit from it. But, I'm glad to have it. I convert to 110v and run separate house-hold wiring (romex), I've got 110v LEDs mounted in there. I think you should consider a 110 inverter. Look at the proper wire you would need to run 12 volts more than 25 feet. You'd need to start with a giant wire, and you'd still loose power and make some heat before you get to the appliance. You also need a Charge Controller. If you're going to use the system all the time, The MPPT type is worth the extra money. Most Charge Controllers will alloy to pull a 12v system separately. The battery-bank size is the critical number on a system. When you find out what that is, you'll know the rest of the story.
  6. I prefer to run a few lbs high, it's easier on the side-walls, and they make less heat. The best way to check a good psi and condition of a tire, is to feel the temperature of them when you're pumping fuel during a long trip. All 4 should feel the same. If you have a warm one or two, maybe you should find out why. If you have a hot one, don't get back on the highway without a good spare. I have a sports car, and I thought running the max psi would give me better cornering. A tire-man took the time to correct me on that. I tried him out, and he was right. I run about 2 lbs higher than the door-post sticker.
  7. Level III vests can be found fairly cheap on e-bay, professionals refresh them every 5 years. New riffle plate vests front and rear, can be had for around $150. I've been tempted to get one.
  8. I've always heard it's against federal law to have a gun on any commercial vehicle. I hope our next president will change that. Most OTR drivers live in a truck.
  9. I've often see people carrying long guns with signs to sell there. They strap all guns at the gate, like any gun show. I'm looking forward to being there Sat.
  10. Good post Ron, that's why I carry a 1911. I'm not worried about thugs, I try to stay out of their territory. Islam has proclaimed death to America and Israel all of my lifetime. Muslims have invaded America and my territory. I recognize my enemy, I'm proud to be an Infidel. I think it's clear that WW III is going to be about islam, it'll be based around the Euphrates River, that's 100% muslims.
  11. I'll give Yanmar a thumbs-up. I think they still make the small engines for JD. I'd stay away from the China stuff, and gas engines.
  12. I didn't know that, I've shipped gun parts a few times. I'll stand on the 5th' before saying which parts.
  13. Take it apart, ask UPS if they'll ship gun parts.
  14. I use internal balancers on my jeep. The brand names are expensive, I use 2g airsoft pellets. I think the recommended weight is about 14oz for a 15x35. I use airsoft pellets in my Goldwing too, 3-4oz.
