  1. Special thanks to Sybo here on TNGO!  He gave it a good grind and it is like new again.  :):)
  2. I have a hunch that is how the tip got broken off in the first place.  :)
  3. I while ago some gave me a nice Spyderco. It is in overall good shape except for the tip is broken off (see pics). What should I do? I know that I can send it to Spyderco and for $25, they will reprofile it. That's one option. However, I am open to ideas on what else can be done with it. Anyone know how well a tanto point would work on it? If so, I'd need a recommendation on who can do the work. Just looking for a few other ideas in case there's something cool I haven't thought of.
  4. I wanted to thank everybody for the input.  Much appreciated!
  5. I already found myself naturally saying "y'all" already.  Feels kinda good.   Thanks again for the warm welcome, everybody.
  6. Definitely a mistake I won't be making, but I will bet it is a common one.  First thing I did after unpacking the moving truck was go get my TN license.  I got it...they took my MI license away from me...and I turned to my wife and said, "I am a Tennesseean now!".  If I wanted to do things the way they were done where I came from, I would have just stayed there.  :)   Been here a little over a week..love it, love the people, and love how things are done.  I already know there are no regrets.
  7. As mentioned here: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/93466-just-moved-to-nashville-area-from-detroit/ I just moved into the area and we are trying to get our lives set up.   My wife is trying to set up our bank accounts and she said "Where can we get honest info about a good bank or credit union around here?".  I said, "If you want honest people, go to a gun owner forum."  :)   So if anyone has suggestions based on experience, they would be appreciated.  Thanks!
  8. Thanks for the nice welcome, everyone.  I went out exploring yesterday, hit the gun show at the fairgrounds just to check things out and then spent a little bit of time at the Beer Sellar downtown.  Love it here.  :)
  9. Don't think I didn't do my research before I moved down here.  I know what that can mean.   :woohoo:  :pleased:
  10.  Already did!  Since I am in only a couple of miles away, I checked out Guns and Leather when we came down for Thanksgiving.  Nice shop, nice range, and a very helpful gunsmith that solved a minor issue for me already.   BTW...who in the area is best for Cerakote finishing?
  11. That's right...like Snake Plissken, I escaped from Murder City.   The move was a nightmare and I have a tremendous amount of unpacking to do, but I am happy to be here. :)      A little history...I am the guy who originally built www.migunowners.com several years ago.  It was a favor to a friend who paid me back by having a top cop give me the basics on proper pistol usage for a couple of hours.  I have been around guns all my life, but was hooked after being shown the right way to use them.  After that, I bought my first one...and then somehow multiplied many times over.   :)  I am sure you all know how it goes.  I am a MI concealed pistol licensee, soon to be a TN licensee as well.  I have trained in the shoot house in force-on-force scenarios at Close Quarters Tactical in Shelby Township, MI and I am a proud NRA lifetime member.   In short...again, happy to be here and hope to make new friends!
