  1. I believe I mentioned earlier that I’m a fan of “3 of 7 Project” on YouTube. I always wondered why I could relate to Chad, even when I had a differing opinion.

Here is a short video of Chad and Blake explaining the meaning behind the name.  This is the type of ministry I love.  It’s positive and optimistic, without the in your face condemnation and judgement. The channel is well worth a follow.

    Thanks @Links2k.

I've got the "3 Body Problem" in my que.

I am thoroughly enjoying "Shogun" on Hulu. I remember the original series on TV and read the book a very long time ago. I'm impatient by nature so waiting for weekly episodes to drop is not my favorite thing... but the series is developing well.

I like old cheesy action movies... like the original "Road House" with Patrick Swayze , Sam Elliot, and Ben Gazzara (1989).  But then I think "Lethal Weapon" and "Die Hard" are excellent Christmas movies 😉

The "Road House 2024" on Netflix is an abomination! Blasphemy!

and I can't get that part of my life back... 😠

ETA: I stuck for the next 4-5 weeks on a walker/rollator and ortho boot according to my surgeon yesterday...LIMITED weight bearing hoping the tendons attach properly...so  please keep recommendations coming in please. 🙂

I’m also enjoying “Shogun”.  Rest up and get well soon.

  3. I just finished the first season of “3 Body Problem” on Netflix. It’s a very good sci-fi series.  I can’t wait for season 2.

I love asking questions and discovering or having answers explained, so the pace of the series was fine for me. My wife also ask a lot of questions, but she wants immediate answers, so it was a hard no for her.

His buying in pairs is OCD. I have it as well. I bought 2 new Ruger Mini 14;s, 2 new Ruger Mini 30;s, 2 new CZ Redhead Premier O/U shotguns, 2 new Stoeger Coach Guns, 2 new Rock River AR's, 2 new PSA AR;s and 2 new PSA AK-47;s. Who would have ever guessed I would have something in common with Links.

Pretty close. Also, if you all remember how crazy inventory and prices started getting out of hand some years back. I started the practice for redundancy and spare parts if things had gotten as bad as some had predicted. I was always the contrary optimist about that situation, but I wasn’t crazy enough to not be prepared. It just became a bad habit. 😅

You guys must be smooth talkers to your wives 😀I have trouble explaining why I need “one” more, lol.

My wife loves to travel, so guns are the most affordable things I can purchase for myself. 😀

  5. It’s not difficult to believe. Lots of guys on here have some serious collections. I don’t think it far fetched that most would be in like new condition. Despite differences that some of us my have, outside of my family and military buddies, these are some of the most honest people I’ve ever met.

I normally purchase new, moderately priced guns in pairs. I’ve sold and purchased several that are exactly as described. Some guns get a magazine or two through them, and some don’t. I have some expensive guns in the safe that I just wanted, and they’ve never had a magazine inside them.

The most important thing I’ve learned about buying or selling on here is to be honest. A good reputation makes it easy to do both. In most cases, if the sale were local, I’d almost always throw in something (ammo or accessories) for free.

Good luck with your future sales or purchases!

  6. We tracked the kids in high school.  From the stories the girls tell on him now, it didn’t stop my son from being a sneaky hell raiser.

Now, every family member shares their location if traveling out of town alone.  My son had a crazy flight this morning from Gainesville to Miami to New Jersey. He checked in each step of the way, and is currently sharing his location until he arrives back in Gainesville next week.

There is no daily tracking. That reeks of insecurity.  A complimentary notification of destination is all that’s required between me and the wife when leaving home.

  7. I purchased this tire thumper and small felling axe in this color to match the colors on my old side by side. They were usually with me on the trails or under the rear floor mats in my Ram, over the rear floor storage compartments that carried matching color ratchet straps, portable air pump, tow straps, tire plugs and tool bag roll. I could always justify having them with me.

I also have a pretty hefty walking stick with a retention strap that I purchased to use when I had jury duty in downtown Memphis. Never a problem with security or the court during the period I served.

  8. GLWS!
Just curious, are you going to be replacing this with another unit? I currently own the HP Reverb G2 V2 and I’d like to hear from anyone who has invested in the new Apple product.

If I run across anyone looking for a good bargain unit, I’ll pm you their info.

  9. I’m currently enjoying “Masters Of The Air” on Apple TV+. It’s about WWII bomber pilots and crews. Very good series.

On YouTube, I’m following 3 of 7 Project featuring former navy seal Chadd Wright and Chadd’s separate page. He’s a common sense independent thinker who prepares for the worst without overthinking everything and spreading panic. Both pages are very good in my opinion.

Chadd thinks Trump is the best president in his lifetime, but thinks people who worship Trump and display Trump flags, hats and other paraphernalia are idiots.

  10. I purchased several silencers around the same time. I wanted dedicated silencers for certain pistols. No reason other than not have to swap out during range sessions.

    I have the Silencerco Omega 9K & 45K, Osprey 9, Octane 2.0 9mm,  Octane 45, Dead Air Mask 22, Surefire SOCOM 300 SPS and Surefire SOCOM 556 Mini2.

If I were purchasing today, I’d probably invest in a top shelf multi-caliber can.

  11. I’m enjoying these answers while I think about a discussion in the benefactor lounge. I’ll maintain very few people are willing to pay pennies more for anything. I know we are talking about products, but all one has to do is look at the bellyaching anytime fuel or groceries go up. I believe the majority of Americans would balk at the idea of purchasing something at a 10% or higher price point, just to buy American, regardless of the product.

People don’t want to pay 10% more put food in their mouths or gas into the  automobiles that take them to earn their livelihood.  I doubt they’re willing to pay a premium for anything else.

  12. Probably my last post on the most recent videos. More videos to be released in a few weeks.

Two patrol officers who made the scene on dash cam discussing how the SCORPION unit was a big red flag. They also said they were too hands on, and adrenaline junkies. The female officer said Nichols was messed up bad. The male officer said he didn’t want to see Nichols, because he didn’t want to have to write about it.

I wonder how many other good cops knew that unit was off the rails and didn’t want to compromise themselves by speaking up.

  13. I just watched another video of the cops at Nichols home telling the parents Nichols was intoxicated and on something stronger than marijuana. As they walk away from the home, Mills says “I just hope… he needs to make it. We did everything by the book.’”  They were only seconds from the cove that lead to Nichols front door.

In another video, it appears one of the cops notices Nichols isn’t breathing after being placed into the ambulance and says “they need to bag him.”

I’ll update more for those not interested in watching long videos.

The people of Memphis seem to hold that view and their council members know it. The new mayor really needs to understand where he should spend his political capital if he wants to be successful because she ain’t it.

The little stunt the mayor pulled by giving Davis the interim chief title last week is going to blow back on him.

Thanks for sharing, but I think I’ll await summaries and not subject myself to watching anymore of it.

I watched. Not a whole lot new. Some extended body cam footage.

Only two things stuck out to me. One was the paramedics apparent dereliction of duty. They walk up, look at Nichols with flashlights, then tell the MPD lieutenant that Nichols isn’t injured, he’s just high, then suggest MPD transport him to the drunk tank. More than likely the reason the two paramedics were canned. The second thing was one of the MPD officers mentioning to the officers not to say anything due to the body cameras being on, and they would talk about the incident later, then they all started stressing that they were in a fight for their lives with Nichols.

In one video, Nichols parents show up to the sight of the traffic stop and calmly explains to one cop that the description the officers gave of the incident seemed out of character for her son, explained that Nichols was not a bad kid, he hangs out in Germantown and skateboards.  The mother ask that they do a drug screen at the hospital, because Nichols wasn’t violent, smoked a little weed, didn’t drink or do hard drugs. Pretty much the same calm demeanor the parents have shown throughout this entire situation.

Always something when electric users are heating their outdoor hot tubs but I need to cut back on heating my 850 square foot home-

I believe you are right about the lack of grid upkeep but a blackout takes my only form of heat away-

All electric sometimes is not the best answer-

MLGW knows who the real drains are-

    I understand!

  17. I don’t think it’s that deep or nefarious.  MLGW uses an extremely minimal amount of solar for residential purposes, because utilities are so cheap in our area.

Like most providers, MLGW has failed to maintain infrastructure, and I don’t believe they have any incentive to maintain our water and electric infrastructure. I assume they figure two, at most severe weather events per year doesn’t justify them updating decades old infrastructure.

They raise the rates, tell lies about what they plan to do, then throw bandaids on whatever is broken.  A little snow in January/February and a little power loss during tornado season doesn’t pressure them to do the right thing.  At least MLGW is better than the entire state of Texas when it comes to utilities.

Rumor has it, MLGW users are going to experience a rolling blackout tomorrow between 3-9pm.  Big fun!🤩
