  1. Poorly behaved dogs are the fault of the owners, so I’m right there with you.
  2. I have a Malinois/ Shepherd cross that goes literally everywhere I go. She’s nine months old and has been by my side since she was 8 weeks and a day. Training this dog is part of my lifestyle, and when we do go places I’m proud to say she is better behaved than most children I see. She’s no service dog, but we’ve never been questioned beyond “can I pet her” which is usually answered with “no”. We are at work when we’re in public.
  3. Some “sheepdog” whipped out his ready to go carry weapon at the sight of a scuffle. Then someone screamed gun. I know the timing doesn’t line up like they claimed with someone yelling gun before the citizen drew, but I think my first scenario is more likely.
  4. Last night. Roasted asparagus, steamed veggies, bacon wrapped jalapeños, steaks and miniature cheesecake. And yeah. Welcome to Wyoming. [emoji1]
  5. 642. It’s all I carry regardless, I’m not much for playing musical carry guns. [emoji38] Same gun, same place, every time. Muscle memory is a powerful thing and I don’t want to be fumbling around trying to remember where or what my carry weapon is should I need it.
  6. Chili came out ok, could be better but it’ll do.
  7. No photo, but I did a roast in the dutch oven yesterday. Roast, peppers (whatever I had), carrots and celery. Tonight I’ll take the roast and carrots out, then do some ground beef and more peppers to go in the “leftovers” from the roast in the dutch oven and make chili.
  8. "If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." Sources checked: Papers of Thomas Jefferson: Digital Edition. Thomas Jefferson retirement papers.”
  9. Smells a lot like freedom to me. If you haven’t harmed anyone, you haven’t committed any crime. I know a guy who carries, smokes weed and likes to go to the bar occasionally. Sometimes he does all three of those things at once. Still a good guy and I’d trust him with my life. Your mileage may vary.
  10. Country music can’t handle this anymore. There’s no alcohol, very little pickup truck and no thump and bump hip hop tune. The folks in Texas have a decent handle on it though. [emoji106] This one called my mother as well. It got bad. I have friends and a job in TN that would welcome me back with open arms, but I feel at home here and just can’t see myself leaving. A friend told me the other day that I was Wyoming personified and I think she was right. [emoji38]
  11. Ended a 12 year relationship, ex went nuts afterwards. I couldn’t go home for fear of my own life. I lost everything, even took my clothes and the light bulbs. I think the only reason I got to keep my dog is because she’s always with me. I got my 20 year old truck and the contents. House too, but not until the ex gutted it. Had a ranch accident, almost lost part of my right hand. Kept it, but half is totally numb now. My truck blew a head gasket, transmission seal and fuel pump all in one week, then I wadded it up with a trailer on the ice and crushed the driver door. Lost a heifer and her calf during birth. Started smoking again and don’t want to hear s**t about it. 🤣 Been a fun couple months. Slept in the truck a lot, slept out at the cattle lease land a lot. I was pretty tense so when the girl in the ranch owned rental house called me late one night and said there was a strange man sitting in her driveway and seemed to be looking at all the equipment we have by the fence we went zero to 100 in a split second. I’d picked up another dog by this point, a working line Czech Shepherd with protection and bite work training. It was a surreal event, started out on the business end of an 870 and a mean hair missile, ended with is laughing and literally drinking beer on the back of the truck. And this stuff? Not even the half of it. I got back to WY and we got downright western, boys. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  12. This seems like a reasonable thread to say hi again in. [emoji1] Hi y’all. My world went to #### and I’m slowly picking up the bits and pieces. I love it. Hope everyone is doing well. [emoji1]
  13. We had Bentons bacon once and my impression was very similar to yours. It wasn't bad, but it really didn't live up to the hype or cost. I can get better for less at the grocery store.
  14. I plan to wear mine on my head, so the smaller size of the Session would be great. I believe you can monitor the view, menus etc with a smartphone. What I don't like is the two hour, non swappable battery. At least with the Black when it goes dead I can change batteries, the Session must be recharged.
  15. Awesome timing. I've been looking at a Hero 5 Black, but torn between it and the Session. Curious to see what folks have to say.
  16. I bought a beater ranch truck with an automatic trans. We were moving hay equipment and I was going to have my friend's 10 year old follow me in it while I was moving a tractor. His eyes got kind of big and he said "I've never driven a truck without a clutch before." I explained, he was still a little unsure so I put him in my "good" pickup with a 6 speed manual and he was right at home. I try to run my work truck 30 minutes or so in the morning if it's below 30*. If it's single digits, I'll leave it running while I get gas if I'm not going in the store.
  17. I have less than 50% of what they wanted for just a V plow to fit my 2001 F-350 into that whole outfit, pickup, plow, new studded tires and two sets of aluminum wheels. The key is to start shopping in June when nobody is thinking about snow, and find one that has a problem. I winched that one onto my trailer to get it home, a little work and a new starter got me off the tractor for this winter. I think I listened to "Western Skies" about that many times today as well.
  18. Wouldn't trade a minute, and I wouldn't have it any other way. [emoji3] I like Tennessee, but you know it just ain't my style.
  19. Close to 14" over the last few days. I've got piles taller than the truck hood after clearing the parking area. -1 right now, should see 16 or so today. [emoji1]
  20. We got 4" last night, and may see up to an additional 8" today. Can't decide if I should plow it yet or not. 4" isn't bad, but I also want to give the plow truck a good shakedown before the spring storms move in, hopefully sooner than later. It's been a dry winter, and we need the water.
  21. I might need a pair of these. Do they come if a left handed style? Think they would clash with the beard? [emoji23][emoji23]
