  1. Good news, took the pistol out for its maiden voyage to the range, and after firing it was able to get the pin out! I suspect it was just petrified cosmoline that was holding it in, and the firing loosened her up. Once I removed the mag safety the trigger immediately feels worlds better.
  2. That's the breaks...don't suppose you remember which side is the right side?
  3. I picked up this FEG Hi Power clone from the deal that Buds was running a couple of weeks ago. I've always liked the Hi Power design for it's historical significance, and when this came up for a reasonable price it felt like the right time to take the plunge. Plus, it fits all of my 1911 holsters! Gratuitous gun porn pic: One thing I've noticed is that the barrel is not like a typical Hi Power barrel, it doesn't have the cam typically found on them. Any Hi Power experts that could shed some light on this? Below is a picture of the barrel. Also, when I completely stripped it to remove all the cosmoline, I couldn't get the two small pins in the trigger group out. I really want to remove that obscenity-inducing magazine safety. Any tips? Or if anyone knows a good gunsmith in the Nashville area who is knowledgable about Hi Powers, that would be appreciated too. Thanks!

    Ok Sig

Do you remember the guy's name? There is one guy in particular at Sig's customer service who is absolutely dreadful. I had the same problem with a 938. I'd have rounds repeatedly get stuck in the chamber and no amount of troubleshooting was able to fix the issue. Wish I had kept my 238, I had nothing but perfect reliability out of that one.
  5. I thought about having a Kydex holster made, but to me a classic design like the Hi Power should ride in leather. Though, I may end up having to go the kydex route in the end.
  6. I've got a Hi Power that I'll be picking up in the next couple of weeks. I've read that leather 1911 holsters will work, but has anyone used a Hi Power specific holster that they like? For this one I think I'd prefer leather, either cross draw or strongside with either a straight or FBI cant. Thanks in advance!
  7. I was one of the lucky ones to score the "like new" Hi Powers. Can't wait to get it and post pictures!
  8. Beautiful rifle! One of these has been on my bucket list since I was about 11, after reading The First Fast Draw by Louis Lamour, in which the Spencer was prominently featured. Something about older guns like yours make me feel all nostalgic.
  9. Thanks everyone! Happy to be here, it sure is a beautiful state!
  10. I used to have a P245 that was great, but just a hair too small for my hands. Then I stumbled across this Elite and fell in love. The thing I like most about it is the trigger. Not only does it have the SRT, but the double action pull is the smoothest I've ever felt.
  11. Just wanted to share my Sig P220 Elite. So far it's seen 1400 hiccup free rounds and is dead on accurate. I barely have to do anything to get rounds on target.
  12. Hello all! I'll be starting a new career and a new life chapter in south Nashville at the end of this month. New Jersey native, have lived in Indiana for the last 7 years. I've been a life long gun obsessionist (made up word), and found a wealth of helpful information and great friends at the Indiana Gun Owners forum. I'm looking forward to doing the same here with you all. Big history buff as well. Looking forward to getting involved with a great community!
