  1. They moved to CO in the 90's, not just due to the quakes, and ruined it. We escaped to TN later on. I agree that the state is not the problem.
  2. SO....if you witness "plumber's crack".....and said crack-er moves lead-in-arse-slow....does that qualify as "plumbeous crack"? Not sure why I think of these things, but I do.
  3. No choppers required. It'll last until some moron uses one in a mass shooting, even tho' it has zero impact on capacity or rate-of-fire. Took about 4wks to get mine....delivered to my door, and I do like it...a lot. Makes a big diff in my target groupings at 25yds; I haven't been to the outdoor range to try it past that distance, but 9mm ballistics-wise, 50yds is about max anyway. I skipped their custom package, as I already had some of those items (QD sling, flashlight). Bought my own flip-up backup sights and had a spare red/green-dot reflex on-hand. Makes a great little HD package, or folds to fit in a truck console if desired....depending on yer truck.
  4. Welcome back to 'merica.... look me up if ever in the Nashville area.
  5. Mainly for Glock, but.... https://youtu.be/C015cTfG_Vc New, improved, USA made, better priced version of the Micro-Roni. The GlockStore had a weekend sale on these ($199 shipped in TN, prolly 'cause they have a site in TN now). I grab'd one late Sunday, and of course it's now BO'd. Not too thrilled about that. I've worked in retail in the past and short-ordering promotionals isn't uncommon.....but risky, since it tends to PO your customer base. Any Roni folk out there? Your thoughts on the MCK?

I've had one since fairly early on...in the 24K serial series. Never a problem, accurate, easy to rack & shoot. The take-down isn't a big deal once you get used to it. But it IS a bit of a niche gun, not for everyone. I do regularly CC mine...it's been very reliable.
  7. FYI, we got moved and I setup with this Arlo starter system: www.bestbuy.com/site/arlo-pro-3-camera-indoor-outdoor-wireless-720p-security-camera-system-white/5665611.p May add a couple more cameras later but for now it's adequate and works great. Thanks for the recommendations.
  8. Personally we prefer the Gen3's....umpteen thousands of rounds through the wife's G26 with nary a hiccup. I'm always a bit leery of new gens.
  9. KT's aren't for everyone. They are inexpensive but not "polished", which Ruger and to some degree SCCY took advantage of much to their success. However if you like to tinker a bit, they are well worth the effort. Back in the late 90's I qualified for my first CO CCW permit with a P-11, have carried a (polished w/upgraded trigger) PF-9 for many years, along with a P3AT as a BUG. They've been extremely reliable but they took a bit of improving to be range-worthy.
  10. I don't get the "ring doorbell" idea if you already have something like the Arlo Pro...you can already see and talk with whoever trips the audio and/or motion detection. As for paying for a monitoring service, we've had that in the past with ADT...not impressed...a lot of $ each month. Plus we won't have a landline, which makes those types of services more problematic. I do like the idea of tying in the smoke sensors...will have to look into that.
  11. I prefer rechargeable...I'll buy a charger and extra batts so it'll be quick to change them out. And depending on settings they should last 4-6mo on a charge. My bigger concern is protecting the cameras; pretty easy to steal tho' you should get a good view of the thief, but mostt wear hoods/masks which is a problem. Which begs the question...do I "go loud" with "Video Recording 24hr" style signs or "go silent" with no signs and try to hide the cameras? Not an easy task for the angles and ease of access for recharging that I want.
  12. https://kb.arlo.com/3003/How-does-NETGEAR-keep-my-Arlo-videos-private-and-secure-in-the-cloud I'll be taking extra steps...I'm an IT guy so not a big deal for me. https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/make-wireless-security-cameras-untouchable-hackers/
  13. Thanks...Simplisafe was more of an example of the genre than a definitive pick. I also prefer the Arlo.
  14. When we move soon I'm considering buying one or the other; a wireless camera system or a wired/wireless door/window system. I've setup the latter in the distant past and I know that they are much easier these days, but I like the idea of the advanced external notice provided by the former. My brother has a couple Arlo Pro cams but without the alarm. I'm looking at one of these: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/arlo-pro-indoor-outdoor-hd-wire-free-security-camera-system-3-pack-white/5665611.p vs something like this: https://www.amazon.com/SimpliSafe-Wireless-Security-Command-Bravo/dp/B001PBYQHG Yes it'd be great to do both but budget-wise I need to pick one and I like the idea of keeping an eye on things at home or away plus the 2-way audio for dealing with visitors. I also don't like false-positive alarm-bell fire-drills from motion detectors (we have a beagle dog) or faulty sensors...been there. With the Arlo system I can choose to manually activate the alarm (or not) once I see the source of the notification. So that's where I'm leaning...What'chall think?
  15. Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully it'll be handled, one way or the other, by the sellers before we close.
  16. Don't know if there are any real estate lawyers in the house but: We've a contract on a house with a bit of land. Problem is, looks like an out-building included in the deal may be over the neighbor's property line. Current owner and neighbor are on good terms so it's not been a past issue, but now that they are selling said property it may be a snag. Sellers are paying for a survey and agreed to pay X amount to either move or destroy the out-building, but I'd hate to lose it or have to pay any extra $ to move it. So the question is, can we and the neighbor draw up any kind of gentlemen's agreement if it's on their property? If so, what happens when they die/move/etc? In general, just looking for advice, options. Tx!
  17. For every solution there is a problem...or something like that. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/07/15/vickers-tactical-slide-racker-for-glock-42/
  18. Pretty happy with what I have, but thanks for the link. Yah, a bit pricey and might be too sweaty for my needs. Always good to have options.
  19. So far the bandolier is working out. It works well in a chest-rig configuration, but most times I'm using it outside my waist/belt in a gunslinger fashion. This is comfortable and lets me easily move it around my waistline as needed, whether walking or sitting while mowing. Probably not the most durable rig, but so far so good.
  20. Tx! Yah the Judge is a lot o'fun and useful too. I've owned two Thunders (9 and 380), great value and accurate. They relocated to good homes. As for SoB holsters, no interest there. Only time I've fallen around here was a classic faceplant when my boot caught in a tomato cage buried under brush. Bruised a rib and decided to be more careful after that...so far so good.
  21. I shoot HPR 250gr TMJ in my Judge PDP. Dang accurate and recoil ain't bad a'tall. For bear?...time to get out the 12ga w/slugs or my AK.
  22. One of my early purchases in the late 80's was a KT P-11. Ignoring the whole KT vs SCCY thang, from what I read they seem to be a great value for the price.
  23. > Mount a holster on the tractor. Needs to be on me, not just there. But tx. I'm often doing weeding or brush-work too. >So what kind of pests are you dealing with that a sharp stick would not handle? Variety, from mice to squirrels to snakes to coyotes & stray dogs to stray outlaws. Most times the inlaws are ok....most times. Besides, ever try finding a good holster for a sharp stick? >The Judge is kinda big, if I were to carry one I would probably use a chest rig. Or get a small .22 Yah, I'm gonna try the chest rig. Only .22 handgun I own is an old Sterling pocket SNS. Not safe to carry, or accurate. I do carry a pocket .380 BUG, but I like the Judge's versatility. The PDP model ain't all that large 'cept for the Pachmayr Diamond Pro grip I added.
  24. That pancake would be too hot (and in that position, in the way when bending), but thanks. I really want to get the holster off my belt if I can. I ordered a cheap nylon bandolier-style (tank gunner-ish) to test out that concept. Another suggestion I got was ye olde fanny-pack style which has the advantage of being easily movable, and on/off, along with holding extra ammo and providing protection from the elements....slower draw though.
  25. We have 5 acres of mixed open/wooded land here in N TN, with mixed critters around often. When outdoors I always carry my Judge Public Defender Poly with a mix of shot for small/large pests. It carries well in a Fobus paddle, but can get in the way when doing chores and sit'n on the lawn tractor. It's most comfortable in a full shoulder rig or Kangaroo Carry but that can get sweaty and sometimes in the way also. How well does a cowboy-style gun-belt work in regards to comfort and convenience? Or should I look for a chest x-draw style? I open-carry on my property but prefer to be as discrete as I can.Tx, M
